If you want to delight in that sort of humor, that's ok. You might find all that "machinery" funny, that's also ok: each is entitled to his own opinions.

But you can't expect everyone to follow on.

I hope you understand other people have different views on some things; and, in certain moments and circumstances, they might find some adjectives/jokes a tad offensive/out-of-place. That's all.

I myself said earlier in this thread that the pope was "part of the furniture" for me, and Blade said he didn't think that choice of words respectful enough. So I just went and apologized, no worries. :)

Perhaps I was a bit carried away by something very sensitive to me at the moment, but dramatizing was not my intention.

Now, the pope-mobile... that is funny.  ;)

I think the Pope was pretty amusing. All his incomprehensible murmuring that his surrounding assistant cardinals had to interpret for the rest of the world. And how everybody was excited out of their minds as soon as he waved from that little chamber window to show the world he was still breathing.

My own dad suffering from Parkinson, whenever I see somebody old or sick, I usually find it anything but amusing.

I always thought if God "fitted" completely within my head, God wouldn't be worth believing in.

Oh, sorry Blade, I meant "part of the furniture" as "somebody who has always been around ever since I was a little kid".

I certainly do have a lot of respect for the pope too.

So was it where I live.

It looks very good, but I'd love to see a larger version.

Controversial as he was in some issues, he must have done something right - there were 70,000 mourners yesterday at St. Peter's square (and he leaves about 1bn followers worldwide).

To me, JPII was "part of the furniture". I've known no other pope so it feels kind of weird now.

Anyway, he's gone now, let him rest in peace.

...but I'm curious as to who the next pope will be.

QuoteSo he can do all of our backgrounds for us.

Wouldn't they all look a bit the same then?

Give the guard a belt and make his robes a tiny bit longer.

That way you'll get rid of the t-shirt effect.

Do I get the points??  ;D

THAT'S IT SCUMMBUDDY, YOU LEGEND!!!

I didn't know you had all those great tutes in your site (I think I'll be checking it often now. Besides, you added my own DOTT-style tute: thanks for that).

That's the tute I was on about. Link below:

No, I can't. I've been browsing through all his posts.

I'm afraid the tute is too old, or somehow I missed it.
#275
There's something not quite as good looking as the rest about the stars.

Farlander made a tute awhile ago that would suit your style to a tee. I'll see if I can dig it up.
#276
I can't wait for that tute. I love the way you draw with that tablet.

Pretty good.

Some constructive comments:

- If his left foot is pointing ahead, then his left pocket should probably be much "thinner" or disappear altogether.

- I think his left leg is out of proportion - it's probably too small, even for the depth effect you're trying to achieve.

- His right foot could be in that position, I guess, and I disagree slightly with Pablo. I think it should point almost straight down.

- His head looks a bit like it's floating ove the body. If he's supposed to be the no-neck type, I would push it down a bit. Otherwise, it's probably better to give him a bit of neck (coming down from the back of his head).

I hope this helps.

QuoteAussie, If art is hardest part, why not ask someone to help out?

I don't have anything against it, that's for sure. Two people work twice as fast.

The only thing is that the other artist would have to fit in with the sprite and background style.

There are alot of stories.

Geez Jet! I really wish I could read Dutch.

It looks like I could get plenty of ideas from that site!

There isn't one reference of garlic or silver repelling werewolfs in Dutch/Belgium folklore, nor that a bite will turn you into a werewolf (you have to sell your soul to the devil).

I'm no expert, I guess, but you know what the movie cliche is like: werewolfry is passed on via bites and silver bullets are the only way to kill a werewolf.

The garlic bit is my own, I suppose - in the game it sounded a bit silly to say that doors and windows had been covered with silver while people were having dinner. Garlic just sounded a bit more, say, feasible.

...in the good ol' days werewolves killed all the livestock in one night, and no matter how much they ate, their hunger never went away.

Was it the werewolves or just the wolves? ???Ã,  ;D

Thanks, thanks, thanks again. You guys are really managing to build up my motivation again.

I will honestly try to finish this project, even if a have to put the one I'm working on on hold. But do not expect anything too soon. Bear in mind that I have lost quite a few files, and you know that art is what takes up the most time when making a game.

I'll probably have to re-vamp the graphics and the GUI a bit - I feel ripping off the Colonel's Bequest is ok only to a certain extent.

Thanks again for all that positive feedback, and

Darth Thanks for not locking this topic.

JayWolf1985 You're free to use the graphics as a reference. If you like this style, the Colonel's Bequest is a good place for you to start.

evilspacefart Good to hear from you again. What happened to underwater adventures?

All others: Potch, kinoko, totoro, Vel... Your support does mean something to me. I'll try to live up to it. Cheers.
