Thanks a lot for all that.

Honestly, guys, if you keep posting positive feedback and PM-ing me about it, you're gonna make me feel like taking the project off permanent hold.

It's seems like it was yesterday when Al Qaeda bombed Madrid's underground at peak hour, leaving 200 dead and over 1500 wounded.

Madrid's bells tolled for five minutes between 7.37 and 7.42am this morning. And the anniversary is all over the news today.

It was only lucky a lot of my friends were saved, as there was a strike at uni that day. Otherwise, they would have been in those trains. Thank God for that.

I think society on the whole has reacted pretty well to the tragedy. There have been no anti-muslim outbursts or anything like it this year.

It's a bit sad though, that the main political parties, without exception, have tried to make the best of it to suit their own political agenda.

Not a happy post this, but I just thought I'd bring the anniversary to people's attention. I guess it's our very own September 11.

Oz.

Be open, a lot of people here can comment much better than I can. Ã, ;D

I think it's pretty good. You got the "disproportion" pretty much right.

Some thoughts:

- Guybrush is a bit too close to the ceiling, also, the picture is almost as large as the couch underneath. This could happen, but it's unlikely.
- I would not outline those couches. Make each "face" of the couch of a different color, trying to be consistent with the light. You can have a look at the couches in 5 Days a Stranger or in No Action Jackson. They're excellent.
- Try to get a bit of shade under the couches too.
- I think the TV is too large.
- I don't quite see the deal with the blue corners. If you like them, that's fine, but I've never seen that sort of stuff.

But keep it up!

Remember, it's good if you take this style as a base, but you should ideally develop your own from there. You'll feel more comfortable that way.

I guess I could have a go at the great outdoors.

I haven't really developed that sort of bg save for urban scenarios (buildings, roads and stuff like that).

"Al Gurbish in Nick it and Run" has spades of those, if you want to have a look.Ã,

BTW, Pablo, I think the door is a bit out of perspective. The top should not be as skewed. Also, don't get lazy with the lighter lines along the edges of things. They add depth.

Tanker, I posted yesterday on your "New Room" thread...

Then in the interaction editor "Interact ovject - object - switch object back on."

If the object is off, you'll never be able to interact with it. Hence the sequence you describe does not take place.

Make your panel a hotspot. Then use interact with hotspot instead of interact with object.

"Interact hotspot - switch object back on."

It might be an issue with the object baseline. Is that head pannel a walk-behind area?

This is not so much with adventure games, but more with the Windows environment.

Every time I stuff something up, I think of the "undo" button.

I reckon it's the greatest thing since Monkey Island.

The best is when you see it all fit together and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Art is fun, even walkcycles, but in small doses. It just seems to take forever sometimes.

The worst is finishing it and discover that people find it bleh.

If you're referring to walkcycles, sprites, furniture and stuff like that, SCI Studio is probably a good bet.

Oh no, no quidditch  ;D it's an aussie rules pitch (Australian football, that is).

Yeah, you're right on the windows bit. In fact, I'd like many more comments on the windows, if possible.

I'll see what I can do with the blue house.

I think the poster would be ok if you removed the pixelly look. In my opinion, it just doesn't go with the "flat" colors you have everywhere else.

I was a telemarketer for one summer when I was 19.  I sold Craftmatic beds, off all things.  One of the worst jobs I ever had.

I haven't done it myself, but I have a friend who currently does it for a living and hates it. He finds it pretty stressful to explain the same stuff all over again just to be rejected all over again. Plus he gets paid partly on performance.

If you get it, that's excellent.

But the good news is that, should you miss out, you're not missing out on much.

Not a bad idea at all, Babar...

I like it very much. Two things:

- The poster doesn't seem to fit in.
- I'm not particularly keen on the black lines that come off the black background.

Matter of opinion, I guess.

Otherwise excellent.

It's supposed to be a warehouse, but I was a bit unclear as to how to draw the façade.

Critics' Lounge / Map screen campus for c&c
Tue 08/03/2005 19:12:26
This is supposed to be a map screen of a university campus.

Before I move on to shading, I wouldn't mind some comments, particularly on the windows. I don't like the way they've turned out.

Ideas?
