Actually in my opinion her upper body was too long already.

I agree. I've edited my previous "paintover" to reflect that.

Like somebody said, there's something a bit odd about her legs. I've pushed them back one pixel to show you what this means, though it doesn't make that much of a difference.

EDIT: I'ver tried to make her arm a bit more natural, and shortened her torso like Gilbot said.

Beautiful!

As soon I saw the game author I realised it was bound to be quality stuff. Excellent graphics, original gameplay and nice humor.

Well done, buloght.

PS. One small critique: some of the hotspots are a tiny bit small. It was hard for me to find out how

to get up to the library or into the ogre's tower "opening". Finding the books and the candles also took a bit of mousing over.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Superbia

The game looks good, but why is it called Superbia? The reason I ask is that I saw the thread's title and thought "Oh great, a game set in a suburbia where everyone's been turned into superheroes!" but this was not the case.

If I'm not mistaken, "superbia" is Latin for "pride", one of the seven deadly sins. "Avaritia", which you can see graffittied on one of the bgs means "greed".

On a different note, I like the idea of the game a lot. Does it have anything to do with "Seven" (the film)?

'tis excellent!

Perhaps the windows stand out a little too clearly in an otherwise blurred bg, and they also look a tiny bit too large.

But it's a small point, really.

I'm a huge fan of Yatzhee's work, so I agree with lots of the comments that people have made.

The amosphere is great and so is the music. Besides, I think the text parser adds to the atmosphere, and I like what I've seen of the storyline.

However, I just can't get into this game.

Maybe it's that sense of disorientation the game conveys at times. Take for instance when you walk out of a 'normal' room and, without warning, you find yourself in 'nightmare' mode. Sometimes I just can't tell whether I'm confronted with a bug, or whether things are actually the way they should be.

On a different note, I feel the graphic quality of the sprites has increased at the expense of the backgrounds. Having seen previous Yathzee work, I get the impression that this time less attention has gone into making the game attractive to the eye, which tends to put me off a bit. But anyway, that's just me. Sometimes I find it hard to rise above that sort of thing.

In any case, I'm yet to finish the game, so maybe some of these calls are a bit unfair. I suppose I'll still give it another go.

Oh well, Spain lost. What a shame.

France was the better side through and through. No objections.

That's the way it ALWAYS goes with Italy. They just have to get their one little goal.

It's always bullshit, but they're always through.

I don't understand how England manage to keep playing so badly and yet at the same time winning their matches. Well, long may it continue.

Funny that. The Italians discovered it sixty years ago, and they've won a couple of World Cups.

And the way things are going between Portugal and Holland, with all those players sent off and all those yellow cards, England is going to meet a heavily understrength side in the quarters.

Another nice display of attacking football by Spain, but it's clear that they suffer a lot when they're behind.

I support Australia and England, unless they play-off against each other. I hope brazil are knocked out along the way. I would like an Australia v England final, and the Australians to win. The English would never ever live that down...

That's not a likely cross, is it? Both need to make the semis for that to happen.

Uno, dos, tres, cuatro!

Good to see a solid game by Spain, probably the best they've played in the last two or three years. So far they've been the most impressive team I've seen on the field, together with Argentina and the Czech Republic.

But Ukraine had nothing to throw at them, with Shervcheko half injured.

In any case, Spaniards have seen enough good first round performances. Their real challenge is to overcome the first and particularly the second knockout round, anything else is old news.

I just finished the demo. I loved it.

Only one suggestion for the final thing: I found lots of interactions to be missing (notably those related to the "use" command"). It's a bit puzzling for the player when you do something that makes sense (sort of) and you get no reply for it.

Take for instance the volleyball net. I thought I could cut it down with the knife instead of finidng the pin, but I got no reaction from the game.

Aside from that, two thumbs up. Excellent stuff.

Hi Davy!

Here's my take. I love the other two, especially Khrismuc's (you'll notice I kinda painted over it).

BTW, I don't think this improves the other paintovers. I just feel it may suit your style a bit better.

Hi InCreator,

That's awesome news, congratulations. It's always great to see quality stuff completed.

I agree with splat44, don't rush it. Make it the best you can before release. We have been waiting on this for nearly a year, so we can wait another month.

I'm also up for beta-ing if you need it. My credentials are Cirque de Zale and Frank the Farmhand 2, to name a couple.

I have two ideas:

1. His torso is as long as his legs. Try shortening it a little.
2. He's quite a hunk in the front view, while he looks skinny from the side. Maybe try to give him pecs.

But I quite like your char.

The authors of "Asterix and the Goths" had to solve exactly the same problem.

They simply used a German-looking font (one of those old gothic types) for German speakers, while Asterix and the rest of characters "spoke" in the normal font.

To the onlooker, who is reading everything in the same language, it soon becomes obvious that each font represents a different language.

Here's an example. I couldn't find a better one, but you get the idea.

(*) AGS features a SetSpeechFont function (or something similar anyway). In fact, I think I've actually used it in the past.
