I'm not sure he's breaking the fourth wall as much as greeting the inflatable doll. I guess the humor lies in the hypocrisy of Lucius' attitude.

You always sound so miserably unhappy when you debate theology, Telemachus.

I'm not convinced guns are the culprit here, but rather a means to an end.
Without guns, there are still bombs, knives, etc.

A look at history shows us that even a group of Frenchmen can go apeshit with a something as non-portable as a guillotine.

The video doesn't do the free beer justice.

Ironically, I used to work on site with their former artist. If anyone's interested in this gig, I could drop him a line and find out what the team's like.

Yeah, I could, but I don't want to. I'm just interested in the game that made an entry in MAGS.
BTW, That's a really good way to tick someone off something, BB. I know a nicer version is on sale. I've tryed it's demo and I'm not interested. When I want to buy something I'll quest for it, I don't need publicity. And I simply despise forced feed publicity.

Ok, so you prefer a game that's made in under a month, which doesn't have the polish, bug fixes, voice acting, director's commentary, or vastly improved sprites, animations, and portraits. This is your decision, and that's fine. But what you're saying by making this a "quest", is that you'd rather spend time instead of money to end up with an inferior version. Pretend your time is worth $10/hour. If you've spent an hour looking for a freebie, you might as well have just bought the game.

Maybe he doesn't want that or thinks that it's not worth the price.

Since he's bothering to start a "quest" to find the game and to even post here, he's demonstrating that he believes the game has value. Unless, of course, he thinks his time has no value, which I doubt is the case.

Typo, if you don't want the "publicity" you so despise, I'd recommend you not post on a "public" internet forum. As for my recommendation being "forced-fed", my opinions about the game are my own. I played no role in its creation, but rather bought it and enjoyed the final product. My hat's off to Dave, Shane, and the wonderful individuals that made this game sparkle.

You know, you could just like... buy it. It would probably be easier, and you'd be getting a far better version, too!

I'm glad you guys decided not to charge 30 bucks for this after all!

I'm not sure I see the connection between the alien GUI and the human Roger.

If the goal is to attract more users, we'd be better off using ripped graphics from a popular game like KQ for the defaults. This would reinforce nostalgia and provide a graphical interface that is immediately recognizable to fans of the genre.

While we're at it, we should give Roger a l3n5f14r3, too.

Imagine how sweet the walkcycles would be.

I can't wait to play this. Love the new clouds! Can I link to the project website (if you have one)?

How do poor kids even afford these expensive systems?
#135
I can do this, too: :)

"Watchmen is the only graphic novel to have won a Hugo Award, and is also the only graphic novel to appear on Time magazine's list of '100 best novels from 1923 to present.'"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen (cited source)

Here's the link to the TIME magazine article:
http://www.time.com/time/2005/100books/0,24459,watchmen,00.html

Anyways, the term itself is irrelevant (consistently used interchangeably) to my facetious original point about the character development. (You know, there's really no difference in the resulting media, yet depth can exist in one...forget it.)

Quotehe is approached by a mysterious man who seems to know more about him than Jason does himself.

The man claims to represent an organization that recruits people who are believed to have "special abilities". Those abilities could be telepathy, telekinisis, or other extraordinary powers. Jason has had such an ability all his life, fearing to admit it to himself, let along others.

Reminds me of:

Except it's about a college kid and whatnot. You're probably not familiar with the webcomic, as it's not an original premise anyways. Just connected in my mind. Or should I say, the two thoughts combined. :)

btw, Watchmen is overrated.
Star Wars is overrated. Still classic, despite that.

But yeah, I never really claimed that The Watchmen was amazing, just that has a good deal of character development. And since it's advertised as a graphic novel, I'm not really wrong there. So...um, not sure what the point is.

I mean, I could digress about how the word "porno" sounds infantile...
#138
Yeah, for character development go read a graphic novel like the Watchmen.

Comic books focus more on using made-up words for sound effects.
