Okay, this is really quick and dirty (could only spend about an hour on it), but here's my take on the sprite. I started doing it as a mini tutorial, but I ran out of time (and patience
).
Here's a brief explanation:
1. Quick silhouette drawn with a size 2 brush.
2. Flipped figure, refined borders.
3. Picked some colors for the shading, started filling out highlights (and flipped back).
4. More of step 3 (flipped again).
5. Everything is in this step. Lots of pixel pushing and fiddly thing (flipped again).
The way it ended up, I don't think it's very usable for the game (it's too detailed to animate easily), but maybe it can serve as a reference for a more dynamic pose. As far as the anatomy goes, his head is too big and his legs are probably too short. I'm not very happy with his feet either. Damn, the more I think about it, the less I like my version. Grrrrr.

Actually, it's plain horrible. I should really draw a better one if I have time. Sorry to rasie your hopes.
