I think John's post serves as a shining example to ANYONE who is even remotely considering starting a thread in the "Games in Production" section.

Not only did John wait until development was underway, but he posted screenies and even a playable DEMO! He also remembered to CAPITALIZE and his grammar's pretty good, save for the initial run-on.... heheh.

My hat's off to you, dude.

Welcome to the pathetic world of AGS, little buddy.

Erwin: Yes indeed, that IS a Conroy Bumpus wig. Limited edition. With autograph. And official dandruff.

I like thowing in references to Lucasarts stuff.

As for the name, the Crow thing is good. I'm thinking more along the line of a chess analogy. Here are some of my latest ideas:

Apprentice II: The Knight's Turn
Apprentice II: The Knight's Move

(Kinda like "The Empire Strikes Back")

I actually like Morgan's most recent werewolf than the Penguinx edit. No offense.
#804
Well, how about ...

This baseball? It's been autographed by your country's Lou Gehrig!

(sorry, couldn't resist.)

How about this title:
Apprentice II: The Knight's Game

(second title is necessary BTW)

Actually, that's a good call. Never really thought about it too much. I'd have to change some of the website stuff and the wallpaper, but it's probably a good idea to come up with a better name.

I'll come up with a few names and post them later. You guys can pick your favorites. Sound good?

The de-pixelated version looks great!
#807
Yeah, I was inspired by some Reich imagery for that one.
You're going to see a lot of that emblem in the game...

Ironcrow himself came from Otto von Bismarck (old "Blood and Iron"). You could say that Ironcrow and Bismarck both had a "readiness to go to war" but that's as far as political similarities go.

Yes, the wig he is wearing in the trailer is one of many. Here's a tentative
picture of Ironcrow's "wig room."

Can't say I'm too thrilled about how pixelated the character gets in the second and third screenshots. You should consider drawing him more detailed for the close-up scenes...

I love the green dude's walk cycle. Nothing wrong with it. He reminds me of a rasta.

Relax, guys. He never intended to actually make a game (or movie). That would entail work. He simply cancelled a project that never existed to get a little bit of pity from a weak-minded minority. I'm sure the wrestling thing will follow suit.

Poor, poor Phil. Time for you to crysterbate.

I believe the backgrounds in GB: SOTF were digitized photographs (with a bit of pixel pushing added).

Just so you know.
#813
How about if the GIP forum required a minimum of one screenshot and a 45 word description?

I would recommend tracing over them. Or at least flatten the color levels. Otherwise:

Your characters will have sharp edges (very jarring), unless you use an alpha channel, which means your game will squat on your hard drive like a sumo wrestler.

Someone who plays your game may recognize where you live and pester you.

Hokey-smokes, Bullwinkle!

Now that's some tasty sprite art, that is!

I'm so jealous...

The poses might look a bit more natural if they were in a contraposto (low shoulder on same side as high hip, high shoulder with low hip).

The big guy, who I'll call Blanka for simplicity, could use a bit more work on his walkcycle. Blanka's head bobbing forward like a chicken's isn't too much of a problem (it gives him character), but there's one frame in there where his chest seems to change drastically. Also, maybe the tails on his little gold belt thing could move.

Otherwise, keep up the good work!

P.S. How cool is the mullet...

I think this quote from that Lucaskeen website says it all:

"Get ready to return to the mansion a third time in this completely original point-n-click adventure!"

Come on, people, let's RETURN in a COMPLETELY ORIGINAL sequel.
Heh.

* On second thought....
It's better i don't say this.

Snake: You can remove this post. Or just lock this thread and kill 23 birds with one stone.

How about "Dick stroking poofter fuck"?
#819
I too like this new interface! Oversizedchicken's sparkling wand idea is pretty good, we'll have to try that.
If we update the first Apprentice, it'll have to be the talkie version.

It's called "Return of the Phantom" and here's a link to some more info.
