Republican

Talk about biased questions though.

Originally, I was going to say I liked the personality you put into new sprites, and the one on the left's tie wiggles funny...

BUT

A brilliant idea hit me!

BEN THROTTLE'S DESKTOP ADVENTURES

(rolls off the tongue nicely, I might add)

It's worth at least a MAGS. What do you guys think?

You make it sound so ominous, Inkoddi.

Last I checked, "you" don't have to use the red button at all.

Wow, I'm really digging the new title. Planometric Insanity. Nice.

One suggestion, though. IMO, the main character looks a bit generic. I think it would benefit the game greatly you played as a hyper cephalic Indiana Jones or Luke Skywalker instead. Hey, that would be cool! You could do missions for Marcus Brody or Yoda, respectively.

Food for thought anyways.

That's smart of you. Every good art class covers figure drawing before portraiture.

...and here I thought Permanent Daylight WAS a parody!

Thanks so much, Jaz!

I can't believe they didn't like the closet door puzzle. And they think that Pib's movement is clumsy. They do have a point about the GUI. I think we're going to speed up its movement.

FWIW
It almost seems like their faces are a different style than the rest of their bodies. For instance, the wrinkles on the pants almost have a sketchy quality to them (thick black shading), while the faces only have a very exact black outline.
#869
Hasn't this been posted in the "Critic's Lounge" section as well?

Do you really think you'll get that much more feedback by posting it in two different sections of the forums???

Sorry to throw everything on you, Jaz, but I would be forever in your debt if you were to translate this one for me, too:

If anyone decides to do a Loom sequel I might join ... I luv Loom ...

Ok, maybe I'm dumb, but I only found two ways to get into the house(the fire spell and the key spell). What's the elusive third way?

Wow, I love the story, especially your attention to details. (The pygmees are allergic to tea, souls of sacrificed chickens, the Overlord has a lisp, which prevents him from casting a spell.) Great material!

I couldn't help noticing that Ema is the only sprite that does not sport a black outline. Is this intentional?
#874
It'd be a pretty big commitment for anyone to animate a sprite that large, especially for a walkcycle, when the entire body will be in motion.

You'd probably be better off looking for an animator to join your team.

When you make this remake, please please please add some kind of text line for hotspots or even just have the cursor change color when you move it over a hotspot.
#876
It's very green.

Also, one of the screenshots for WWTLF shows up as a red 'x.' It would be nice if all the screenshots were enlarge-able.

The rocks seem like they're soft and wrinkly. Or maybe that's just my eyes.

It's beautiful!

One thing, though. I think you should be able to click on the screenshot thumbnails to enlarge them. Right now they are the size of a large postage stamp.

In the doc form of the ezine, I could always just resize the individual pictures, and they kept full detail.

EDIT: Ok, so some of screenshots are a bit bigger. I missed that on my first viewing. I still think you should be able to see their enlarged versions.
#879
How about pixel hunting puzzles with unlabeled hotpsots?
At least in Lucasarts games you can move the cursor over the entire background and watch the text line for the hotspot's name to appear.
#880
Is his name going to be Dave Stone? You might want to move away from a generic name...

I suggest "Adrian."

heh.
