Your post has no mention of "sexy nurses".   :(
I will not click on that link unless you can guarantee me that there will be sexy nurses.

Silly WHAM, of course there are, the goal is to woo one!

This game is easily the best and longest flash adventure game I ever played. I'm three hours in and I'm still not done. I got it all, good old puzzles, humor, awesome pixelated art goodness and the authentic LucasArts font for extra nostalgia... everything! Play it, it's awesome.

A sidescrolling platformer where you play as a piece of graffiti running across the city; it came to me thinking about how nice 3D engines do brick walls with all the nice bumps and crevices and slippery rain effects and how cool animated 2D graffiti art would look juxtaposed with it.

I am going to SUE!!

Whoa, now that is weird.

Oh, I had an idea, a FMV adventure game, but instead of humans, characters are played by plushies and puppets.

Bonus points if you get your child or younger brother/sister to write the plot.

Double bonus points if you get a plush Tex Murphy cameo.

Dear kaputtnik and Ben,
I cannot replay your game to get a different ending. Not because I can't be arsed, but because I can't force myself to act like a jerk towards Arkady. Do you pardon me?

Your buddy,

PS - Your game was great, I'm glad it finally saw the light of day

D: !

I don't know how I managed to miss this link when I first read your post but I've read your blog entry and I must say I can't wait to see your future projects with that new philosophy.

QuoteI discovered the Maniac Mansion Mania project, wich are fan games made in the world of Maniac Mansion, and I think it is a great idea. Does this exist for another franchise (Sam & max, Day of the tentacle, monkey island ?....)

What do you mean by "This"? Do you mean:
a) Fangames in general
b) A series of fangames using shared assets where everyone can contribute and add their own chapter
c) A series of original games using shared assets where everyone can contribute

If you mean A, then yes, check Arj0n's list.

If you mean B, then no, I don't believe there's a similar project going on, or if there's is, it's in a foreign language and/or I haven't heard about it.

If you mean C, then yes, there is Reality On The Norm.

#22 Spears are swords with a greater range of damage. They have no tactical advantage over swords or any other melee weapons.

And Josh Mandel. "It doesn't work", "It won't budge", "You can't pick that up", "It doesn't respond," are just not good enough for him, if there's ten hotspots and four verbs for a room, there's got to be forty different and unique messages for that single room, one for every verb/hotspot combo. That guy's a genius.

Snarky: There's three things I expect from Tim and Ron: A unique setting, creative puzzles and a whole lot of humor/comedic feedback, even (and especially) when whatever you try doesn't solve a puzzle, that's what I feel is missing from today's adventure games, maybe not the first one but most certainly the latter two, and what I got from the thirty minutes video is that Ron still seems rather keen on the puzzle aspect, they both think comedy is important, and Tim always had this thing for unique or rarely used worlds or settings in video games. I only expect these three things and I'm rather confident that's what we'll get, and it will be a happy day, like when Time Gentlemen Please came out.

I did not! D:

Or if I did, it was by accident. I didn't get that far into the game. By that I meant the general feeling of dread I get from the black and white and gray graphics and from having to manage every little cents of your budget, feeding your little dude crap food and not knowing if you'll make it to the next week. It brings me back flashback of being unemployed. Criminal records tend to close a whole lotta door.

Quote from: Ali on Tue 21/02/2012 15:38:32I don't think this makes sense. Can an old man (seated or otherwise) look back at his childhood, when he didn't have gender identity disorder and give these kids advice?

So you're saying anyone who didn't have gender identity disorder as kid is not qualified to comment on the issue? ;)

You know what I wanted to say. When adults look at a pony, they see the pony but they also see the money and time spend on the barn, food, vet and cares. Kids just see the pony. I don't have a criminal record, that doesn't make me any less knowledgeable about life to tell younger people not to ever do anything that might land them with a criminal record lest they want their life to end like Cart Life. There's plenty of decisions I made which I regret, I'd have loved to have an older version of myself to tell and explain me why some of my decisions are bad ideas.

All I'm saying is. If it was my kid, I would not have given in like this kid's parents did. I would have supported him however I could, I would have been there during the tough years, but that final decision would be him to take, when he's no longer a teenager and his brain stop pumping this drug that makes everything feels so damn intense and/or looks like a good idea.

But let's suppose I'm wrong, it could happen, would it have been such a terrible idea to just wait 'til he's 12? Just to be more sure?

It's not trans-misogyny, we're talking about decisions with ginormous consequences on one's life, made by a kid at an age where they have no hindsight*, don't know decisions have consequences and tend to make decisions on a whim, and these parents gave in to their kid.

Better, more responsible parents would have refused until adulthood, and would have supported hir through the hell that is high school. Do you honestly believe hir high school years will be less hellish now? It will be hell, one way or another.

*Or insight? You know, "A sitting old man can see further than a standing young man."

I wish they stole one idea or two from Rich Burlew's Order Of The Stick reprint drive, like the daily chart and mystery prize milestones, to bring back the momentum of the first days. It was somewhat entertaining to watch Rich's attempts at keeping up with his fans and them shattering every goals he could come up with.

I finally got around to play Blackwell Deception and I must congratulate you for what is in my opinion your best game so far. Thomas Regin is excellent as always. The plot had me on my seat, I can't wait to see where you will take it in the next chapters. But what amazed me the most were the puzzles.

I remember disliking Convergence because it seemed like the series was heading straight into interactive story territory rather than adventure game, and I remember saying Deception would be my last Blackwell game if it came to that but Deception blew away my expectations. It was a brilliant move to bring back all the gimmicks from your past games in Deception and I especially loved the new Joey, the one that goes through doors, spies on people, displaces items, looks inside objects, finds otherwise unattainable information... it's impossible to play through Deception without "Thinking with Joey". And it wasn't just the gimmicks, I had four or five "ah-HA!" moments on traditional puzzles during my playthrough, that was amazing, and they didn't feel like road blocks too. I haven't had this much fun solving puzzles since Time Gentlemen Please.

Anyway, if you can demonstrate the same creativity and ingenuity in your future games, you've got one faithful customer for life with me. Keep up the good work!

"As for the bridge, well... it has seen wars before. Urizen's armies are unlikely to notice it, much less damage it. So it doesn't worry too much. And perhaps, despite all it's seen, it still hopes that one day the river will return."
