Well maybe Andail thought that uploading the stories one at a time would be nice in the sense that those done writing could read the finished product (whole Branch A-1, Branch A-2 except Andail, Branch B up to Antonio and Branch B-2 except Venus)  :). Then have a laugh, and see how ideas diverged. As for those who haven't added their part yet, they aren't supposed to read it... but it's true that if one branch is uploaded, it'd be hard to resist the temptation of peeking. So I agree, we can wait!

By the way, Venus is a girl... I wouldn't assume otherwise from the name  ??? and her profile confirms it.

Okay, I finished my part, so I guess branch A-1 is completed.

Are we going to post it now or wait for the other branches? And if so, does anybody want me to e-mail it to them so they can host it?

Off the top of my head I don't know of any good hosting sites myself.

Oooh, that's awesome!!  ;D I thought you said not to expect anything anytime soon, it's great to get things when you least expect it!

Yes you can upload it I guess? Andail said there was no need for the stories to be published at the same time. But maybe you want to wait for his confirmation.

As for the upload space, how about hosting it here? The previous story was uploaded there too I think  :)

That's a very nice background! I love pixels!

zyndikate for the romance, and nihilyst for the pixels!  ;D

Very impressive background, I see you've used more of a pixel art style or do I have no idea what I'm talking about here? Just wondering why there's a letterbox in it, why would a lighthouse need one?

Well I think a lighthouse keeper is living there, there was a time when lighthouses were switched on/off manually  :)

Concerto, the betta splendens, is pissed! Cut open by two round saws and wounded by a hook, he's starting to rot, and gradually growing more evil and fueled with hatred against those man-made objects. He & his kins decide to infiltrate human households, and will kill humans when they least expect it: when they are bathing. Concerto is a music lover, he will revel as you scream dissonantly while he slowly rips you apart.

Image was flipped, and rotated by 180 degrees. Outline was modified a bit for the tail wounds. Added some fins and a hook. That's all :) I named him "Concerto" because the name of this species is "combattant" in my language, it means "fighter", and I think it's prettier than "betta splendens".

Trophies are up now, so keep the entries coming!

I let bunnies count too.

Tuomas, how exactly does one revenge with a mower?

Aww the trophies are so cool! Me like!
Have you ever been caught under a mower? Hurts like hell  ;D I think it's a great weapon... no?  :-[

And of course everybody knew a rabbit is a ...lagomorpha?

Well yeah, "lagos" in Greek means "rabbit" or something, I remember that from school.

It's always great fun making it backfire on a friend though
"You're such a fag."
"yeah" *wink and blow kiss*
Always freaks em out. Good for a giggle.

Awesome!  ;D One of my friends does that too, it's hilarious. That's the right attitude!  ;D

Yeah I like his version too, it looks more dynamic or something  :) I tried to change some stuff that looked awkward, and I think I got rid of the "hunchback" problem, what do you think? About how long it took me, around an hour maybe, I'm not sure because I multitask.

And a good thing too or every thread would probably be locked!! ;)

Just like teachers dream of a school without pupils; parents of a life without children; mods dream of a forum without members  ;D

Here is an unfinished, messy background, that I don't really like but I'll post it anyway:

Anyway, at least you'll be getting comments from your students ;)

My teacher the rockstar! Awesome!  ;D
Your music's great, I like folk, even though I'm more into louder, harder rock.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this negative attitude towards Myspace :(

Well don't worry, for every person who hates MySpace, there is one that loves it. And it's a good place to start, and display your music. The site has some impact, if it hadn't, famous artists wouldn't own one, and nowadays most of them do (in addition to their official homepage).

No size limit so it's OK :)

Yeah no limit, but I meant I didn't know about the right size for a sprite, since I've never done this before (except for my joke entry in the previous sprite jam, but there was an inventory slot as a limit). So thanks  ;D

They have no interest in creating them. We have lots of these people here.

I agree. I've known AGS since 2003 or something, and even though I've played games, I've never used AGS itself to create games. Some people love coding and programming, and others like me who enjoy writing stories which can be used as scenarios, or drawing, translating, etc  :)

That Splinter is awesome!!  ;D ;D

Ok, here's my real entry, a mutant rodent with the crazed look again. I don't know how well it would work in a game, but I can picture him crawling around, all evil and stuff. Not even 10 colors, done with MSPaint, and wouldn't know anti-aliasing even if it hit me in the face. Purple background because I don't know how to do a transparent one.

I didn't know about the right size so I went along with Tuomas', hope he doesn't mind  :-[

Actually he looks like he's got his paws on a red skateboard and therefore looks cute but since it is actually blood he's creepy.
Edited by mod: Removed quoted image.

But no, notice the evil stare and evil teeth  ;D Yes it's blood, but it's my first sprite ever anywhere so my skills aren't the greatest out there  :) and I did it as a joke in the previous thread, didn't pay too much attention I guess.

@Gilbot V7000a: Sorry, I wanted to add a comment about it not being an entry but forgot  :-[ :-[ thanks for the edit.

Did you get the idea from my bloody ratty?  ;D
Mouse from last jam
If not, nvm  :-[

Edited by mod: Changed image to a link, to avoid this misread as an entry.

How many straight men will admit to being flattered when hit on by another man?

Not many that's for sure! For my part, girls hitting on me did happen, and like Disco said, the attention is nice. Why feel disgusted when it's the same sex, while flattered when it's the opposite? It all goes down to the same, someone thinking you look good, or interesting, or original, and liking you enough to strike a conversation  :)

Ladies?  Confirmation?

You have mine  :) Anyone who freaks when called gay might not be as manly as he thinks. That's what most girls will believe, and maybe we're wrong but that's how this reaction would make us feel.

Over here guys don't use "gay" as an insult so much, they use "homo" or our own word for it. When I speak in English to American or British friends, I don't like using the word "gay" to refer to something I don't like. Mainly because I have gay friends, and I don't like the word being linked to something negative (people consider it negative enough as it is). "That movie is so gay!", seriously, what's that supposed to mean? Just say that it's bad, and everyone will understand.

I can't say what looks wrong unless I draw the picture myself. I traced over yours and erased/added stuff (sorry it looks awkward, I've only got MSPaint). And the colors are there because it looked fugly after my tracing and erasing :-[ so I thought I'd fill it in.

Anyway I made the butt(??) smaller, changed the left foot and left arm a bit. I also changed the orientation of the eyes, and I think maybe of the body slightly, but this was unintended. The end result is a bit different from your version :-[

I'm not the best artist there, but I hope I helped :)

And you should have done that, if you wish to apply at the unemployment office afterwards  ;D

I would've punched him, and that's exactly the reason why I don't become a teacher even though my friends urge me to, because I'm much too irresponsible and hot-tempered   :-[

You did the sensible thing! Go you! I'm sure your pupils are glad to have you as their teacher. Good teachers are hard to come by.

It's good that everything ended well  :) you're also a young teacher yourself Andail, how young was the other one? In college I had a teacher who looked like she was one of us students, she had a hard time making herself respected  :-\

Edit: As a side note, this kind of person is really affecting the way teachers think and act nowadays.  I somewhere read a comment recently by a teacher in Italy who said that if he were walking down the beach and saw a school-age girl alone and crying, he would turn and walk the other way for fear of losing his teachers license or worse.  And I can completely understand what he's talking about.  It's a bad situation.

I agree with Vince Twelve, you can't be too safe nowadays. In other situations I've read about, students would indeed lie and claim they've been sexually harassed by a teacher just to get back at him/her for giving them a bad mark or something along those lines.
