Well, I've switched to 2nd shit and it's a different world!!

Everyone is about my age, there's no boss, the place only runs at 1/2 capacity, and we have a "code of silence"...  meaning we do our little bit O work and then basicaly fuck around for the rest on the night.

[singing]ahh the labour life for me[/singing]

To touch on some other statements here:

Rode:  Yes, physicall work = the shit,  I was self employed as a carpenter for a while this summer.  The most satisfying work I know

most job do suck, unless your living out your dream, or simply doing what you love.  My father, for exsample LOVES being and engineer  and my sister LOVES being a cardiac nurse.  So I have not yet resigned my self to a life of total servituted!

General Discussion / I found work

Well, I started work.

My job so far intails printing out some papers with long lists of seemingly worthless numbers.  Wandering around a wearhouse looking for boxes containing the same said numbers.
Collecting up a predetermined amout of said boxes, and moving them somplace else.

I can feel your envy from here.

It's not bad, I guess.  It will pay the bills and let me save as well, so I cant complain too much.  And starting tomorrow, I move to second shift, so I can skip the getting up a 5 am crap.

It suprises me every time I get a job like this, the overwhelming banality of the american place of common labor.  10's, 100's even 1000's of people (in some cases) reduced in function to little more then an ant or a worker bee.  Moving this from here to there, putting this inside of that....  and the best corporate and industrail america can do to make these jobs more bearable, is add piles of papers and forms, and develop anti-intuitive systems of management.

Ahh what menial labor will do to jump-start the ambition.  And now I face the problem of satying up late tonight so that I can prepare for my shift change.  Nice of them to give me some time eh?

Thank you for quoting the fifth amendment,  I am well aware of the rights I have that are constantly violated by an overzelous law enforcement aparatus.  I'm assuming you've never been in or was close to anyone accused of a federal crime.  Trust me, when they nab your shit, it's gone.

QuoteBuy protection for just $149.95 (US) that will defeat Forensic Analysis equipment costing over $7000.00(US).
OMFG, ONLY $150, FOR ALL THAT!!
Also, on one of them..

You lost your home & you still owed money on it.

Your cars were confiscated but you still owed credit you couldn't pay.

You used to have bank accounts, credit cards and savings. But all your money was confiscated.
'All my money was confiscated'? I think theres some law that saws police have to reimburse people for evidence taken, in some "constitution" or something.

EDIT: Oh yes, almost forgot, I hate stupid people.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when the Fed's nab your shit, it's gone...  they either keep it or auction it off to help defray the cost.  All your bases are belong to them.

The first RE was fairly scary, lots of good "gotchas" and what not.

Also: there was this game I used to have on my PS1 called clocktower that did a good job being a "scary" game, untill I realized you could kick the badguy in the balls when he got too close.

Well, I could do this, except I dont have an internet connection at home,  Darkstalkey also has the required skills (more so then I) to pull this off in the time required, so I would suggest you PM him or find him in the AGS chatroom or something.

Good luck.

I hate Mac bashing.

comparing Mac's and PC's is pointless.  Mac's are specialized tools, thats all.   Sortof like why no one here has an SG workstation on their desk: no use for it.

Lets not forget that Mac's are usually used as front ends to AVID workstations.

Do a search for a program called maximus DVD.  it's a software DVD player that does screen captures.  It's small, easy to use, and free.  Just do a search google.

Anyway ... we'll see what Wil Smith can do with the role.  He, in my opinion, is capable as long as he doesn't 1/2 ass it like he did in Independence Day.

Will Smith half assed it in Independence Day because it was directed by that other idiot Rolland Emmerich.

That guy bugs the crap outta me.
