Thanks, Snarky and Kastchey!

@Neo_One
I need a bit of time to format the result properly.
Should be there latest tomorrow.

Voting will most likely start next weekend!

Cairns is an excellent start or destination for a roadtrip along the Australian east cost. You should be able to book connecting flights from Melbourne or Sidney when booking the ticket to Australia at not much higher cost. Cairns is great, IMHO, Gold Coast not so.
What we did (15 years ago, mind you!) was fly into Sydney, drive up the east coast to Port Douglas (is it still a thing to rent a 4WD there and go to that national park, driving through creeks and stuff?), take a flight from Cairns to Melbourne for a few days and then fly home from Melbourne.

I'm really sad I can't come to Mittens :~(

A to B

It's Monday morning and you just boarded a commuter train to get to work. A comfortable warmth surrounds you which is quite a contrast to the cold platform where you have been waiting just a few seconds ago. As the door closes behind you with a squeal, you take off your woollen hat and stow it in your bag. You hold on to a pole while the train starts to accelerate.

The train is reasonably filled with tired looking people - listening to music, playing on their phone, reading a book or just sitting there with a vacant look on their face.

You spot two empty seats. Where do you want to sit down?

A single window seat next to the door
Go to Cannon Street

An aisle seat in a group of four seats further into the train
Go to South Kensington

Last few hours!

Nominations will close at midnight, this time for real.

But whenever your website goes down, it is gone. If you post it here, this cannot happen.

Thanks!

Maybe we should filter the list for these categories in the future.

AGS Awards nominations have been extended to 00:00 GMT on Thursday 14 February 2019.

We need especially votes in the "Best Puzzles", "Best Demo" and "Best Non Adventure Game" categories, but all other categories would also appreciate more votes.
#1429
Is there a reason why only a few people nominated so far? Would a few days extension help?

I have really no clue what is different this year.

Sure, you can use any material, there is nothing wrong with it. And you don't have to give credit to source material and reference pics you use.
But, if you, for example, use two complete characters from a previous game and three backgrounds from RON or Maniac Mansion Mania, you should tell us, so people can take this into consideration when voting.

Really? I think there were some great games made last year.
#1433
Less than 24 hour left for nominations!

Until now, not even half the number of people has voted compared to last year. The result is, that in many categories only two or three games got the required 5 nominations. It would be really sad if we end up without a proper shortlist for each category. Please help to avoid such a situation by doing the nominations ASAP!

I'm counting on you :)

#1434
Only two days left!
#1435
Less than a week left! The number of nominations so far is very low, not a single game got the 5 required votes, yet.

So play the games released this year and start nominating. Remember, there is no need to play all games to be able to nominate. Just make sure to nominate the ones you have played and liked for the categories you find appropriate.

I'm glad the topic has already inspired a few people!

With the upcoming Super Bowl, I've decided to go with my alien idea and use it to explore the viewpoint of sports through the eyes of someone who has 0 interest in sports.
Sounds hilarious :-D

@Blondbraid:
I fully agree with Mandle - you and AprilSkies are both great game makers, but each of you with an individual style. I'd like to see your take on the topic.
Of course, if you feel more comfortable with the "My fair lady" theme, that's fine as well  :)

I wanted to give it a try, but for Windows I only found an installer version, no plain zip  :(

Hopefully when the editor is ready it will allow you to share the sprites without having to work so hard for it.
For me it is not a question of working hard to set up the folder structure, but of "don't repeat yourself". If I have the same sprite in various folders and want to change it, I have to take care to replace every instance of it. Also, with high-res games, this could increase size (granted, not with my three mouse sprites, but you get the idea).

Okay, setting the pivot of each sprite to 0.5 did it.

I reuse some sprites for various animations and making separate folders for it would be unnecessary overhead. I'll stick to manual sprite creation for now.
