Last week our lovely daughter Ada was born. We had a somewhat rough start and had to stay in hospital a bit longer than expected, but now we are back home and doing really great :)

She is the cutest baby ever and we are totally in love with her :-*

cat, raeff and Ada

PS: I will not post any photos because we decided to respect her internet privacy.

Happy Anniversary!

@Stupot:
Spoiler
Talk to the guy in the Ancient Arts shop in town.

Spoiler
At the junk yard, talk to guy there, then hover over stuff and click when an eye symbol appears. Then use the hand on the box that shows up.

To get back to adventure games, I don't like when games ask people to look for their own keys (to get out of your house/ start your car).
This. This is the most boring way to start a game. And no, this does not get me closer to the protagonist, I don't enjoy looking at stuff in an apartment of an unknown person without no reason and I play adventure games because I want interesting stories and puzzles. The first few minutes are the most important ones of a game, don't fill them with random errands.

What breaks my immersion in adventure games is when dialogue/conversation options don't update to reflect things that have happened in the game. Like, if you've discovered in the course of the game that your neighbor is a serial killer and have had him arrested, the next time you talk to your doorman, that topic might come up, maybe?
And that. This is so important. I hate it when I have to find a certain item and after finding and using the item, I can still ask everyone where to find that item. Many developers are too lazy to fix this. But actually, you just have to turn some dialog options on and off.

Knobs are lovely, but they need to be coded. Sliders work out of the box.

Other than that, I really like the theme, especially the big orange sliders.

I'd love to get a little update about ShattenReyze

Hopefully it isn't cancelled!?
Sadly, I have to say there has not been any progress since 2014 (at least that's what I know), which is also my fault.
I guess everybody got busy with real life at some point...

@lorenzo You should definitely participate in MAGS. There are always people who are good at coding but can't draw, so you could team up!

Yeah, that's what the recruitment board is for, I'll lock this here.
Feel free to start a new thread in Game in Production board presenting your game according to the rules there (if it is an AGS game what I assume from your recruitment thread).
Of course you can then link your recruitment thread there.

No worries!
I combined your posts into one and moved the topic to the General Discussions (since it is not an adventure game).

Good luck with your game!

Ah, I forgot to do the pick - I should make it a habit to set it in advance. I wanted to pick "Hang on" from last MAGS, but you were quicker ;)

Edit: Done.

What is the adventure part of the game?

I don't really like the categories for picking a template background. I'd rather have made a voting "choose your top 3 for the template".

However, here are my votes:

Concept: 07 - Selmiak
Playability: 07 - Selmiak
Artistic Execution: 07 - Selmiak

I picked Selmiak's background for all categories because it is the most interesting, there is a lot of stuff to interact with (of course some elements should be made objects for the template), the pixel art is beautiful and it fits the Roger sprite and theme very well.

Concept: Blondbraid. The background really tells a story.
Playability: Rocchinator with Cassiebsg as a close second. There is just so much to interact with.
Artistic Execution: Rocchinator Excellent pixel art!

Will the 2x1 pixel still work in AGS? I mean, can you make sure that the character always stays "on-grid"?

I think what the 1x1 version is missing is detail. Have a look at the gif CaesarCub has posted and add some more dithering, especially on the left bridge part and the slopes.

Have fun guys and gals! :-D

I just extracted "Bustin' the Bastille" but wow, this game is huge - 1,3 GB! 8-0
I understand that you also want to provide a Linux version, but this would be better done with a separate download link. Now all game data (including the video) is in the rar package 3 times!

Looks fine for me as well with Firefox.
But I noticed another weird issue when checking the game page: The most recent comments seem to date all from 2017-07-10 17:15:24 but they have been added a long time ago ???

I'm not sure if I'm just stuck or I encountered a bug/dead end:
Spoiler
I should give Ernie a special item but I don't have anything beside my comb, the hotdog, a can of soda and a few coins. On the beach there are two new girls but I can't interact with them.

Btw, the save menu is really well hidden. If it wasn't for Cassiebsg I'd have never found it. I tried F5 but not ESC.
