This is Steve Brown mentioning "The Visitor" in his talk at AdventureX.

In Austria we celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December. So, before I shut down the PC and spend the evening with the family (and lots of delicious food) I want to wish you all Merry Christmas!

I like the new categories. Now I just have to play all the games I that came out this year

I think the outline of the white socks could be a bit darker. In the side view, they should either be the same or significantly different.

With the way the RON backgrounds are and cats usually walking on the floor, I don't think the back feet will be visible in the front walkcycle and vice versa. The black pixel line under the lifted leg looks a bit off IMHO, I'd try it without it.

New Year's Eve still counts for December, right?

This one has a strong BASS feeling, but it's less atmospheric than the other ones. I did like the super-low resolution.

I don't mind to make a extension, if most of the competitors are ok with that.

If there is an extension, I'll try to finish the full scrolling version of the background.

You are near to China I guess on the other side of the globe or? I really like that art style, it reminds me of my childhood and the books I used to read. You should make something for kids.

I am in Europe, but I have been to Japan last year, which inspired me a lot. I actually made some kid's games already (although in a different graphic style - BG Blitz is always a great opportunity for me to try something different).

Originally I wanted to make this a scrolling room, but I ran out of time. So here is the left part of the room.

"Are you sure we are on the right track here? This doesn't look like a lost city at all." "Don't you see the red torii over there? This must be the gate to the shrine. If my interpretation of the ancient scrolls is correct, we will find the entrance to the city there."

Great write-up that makes me realize how many games I didn't notice - there were so many things happening at the same time.

Nice one! One day I should probably watch that movie...

The graphics are in a somewhat cartoony style so a simpler font might actually fit better.

I'm still working on my entry. Since I was at AdventureX last weekend there was not much progress, recently. I hope I can finish in time.

I'm sorry to hear you also had troubles with your transportation. I thought about warning you guys, but didn't have any phone numbers - probably it's time to finally get a phone from THIS decade with internet and stuff

This game is out AND it is freeware? Amazing! I'm glad I have two weeks off over Christmas - they will certainly be filled with adventure games!

Note to self: best not to check your homeward flight details after having visited the pub. I went to Stansted airport, but my plane was leaving from Gatwick. Felt like a bit of a dumbass, thank the gods for a taxi service from Stansted to Gatwick!

I'm glad I even made it home today (long rambling travel story hidden)

When I left the pub and got my luggage from the hotel I was a bit late so I thought I'd better be safe than sorry and take the Heathrow Express. Or that is what I WANTED to do. Because when I came to Paddington they said that HE is out of service and the next train will only leave in like 40 minutes. So back to the subway. Stupid me, I didn't have the boarding pass printed (yes, Miez, you were right, I should have done that at the hotel) and they almost didn't want to let me board. Finally, I think they felt pity for me and let me enter, the gate was already closing...
However, I'm glad I didn't take the Easyjet flight I was considering, because that was delayed several hours!

Anyway, I'm home and I have to say, it was a fantastic weekend. It was great to meet so many new people, see people again after a long time and see such great games and talks. However, now reading the forums I'm kinda sad there where so many more AGS people at the event that I didn't meet. Next time we should do name stickers instead of Mr. and Mrs. X
Thanks a lot to Mark, Rebecca, Berian and whoever helped organising this event. Beeing there the two days was worth all the travel issues.

As always, there is stuff I want to hear happening at the same time. Will be hard to decide!
