No crash dump. I'll prepare a package for you.

Since this is open source, where can I find the code for
Code: AGS

at load_room_file(SByte* )
at load_crm_file(UnloadedRoom roomToLoad)
at AGS.Native.NativeMethods.LoadRoomFile(UnloadedRoom roomToLoad)

I'm in no way a C++ developer, but I could try to do a small code review so see if I find something...

I had the exception again when starting my game with the "Run" button:

Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
Version: AGS 3.3.0.1136

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

Do you have more information? I didn't get any updates...

Might be a bit offtopic, but did someone hear something about The Big Sheep? Also looks like Davy hasn't been visiting the forums for almost a year  ???

The structure of the paper leaves lots of white dots. After scanning and shrinking there is not much of your drawing left. Could you use smoother paper? Then there might be less white dots and stronger colors.

I think the problem with her portrait are the eyes. They are glossy and red, so unless she is really ill with high fever, I'd change that. I agree with calicoreverie that they are too far apart.
And I think the teeth are creepy, especially in the top middle portrait.

I got some weird text in the headings of search result. When searching for "array as parameter" the first result shows
"Advanced Technical Forum / Re: ass="highlight">Arrays as a parameter?"

Ah, didn't know that. I'll do that next time.

Btw, I managed to copy the module code from the old project and paste it in a new one, so for me this issue is not important anymore. I'll release the converted and enhanced module soon.
However, it might be a good idea to check if this issue happens with other projects as well.

Actually, I thought it was great when internet stopped working in Ireland. Suddenly everybody had to stop spending the whole time on facebook and - OMG - talk to other people IRL.

I wanted to import an old demo I downloaded (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=26922.0). It was not possible to import it directly, so I downloaded AGS 2.72 and opened and saved the game there. When opening the game now in AGS 3.3.0 and performing the conversion, I got this error (sorry text was not selectable, had to take screenshot)

I don't mind going 5-7km by bike, I'll remember to bring a lock! Will it be possible we get picked up from the railway station when we arrive on Saturday?
#3254
Do we need more cars, Abstauber? I guess your car will be enough to go shopping, right? Otherwise we would have to think about car rental...
#3255
For me, that happened somehow automatically.
Spoiler
I looked at the stuff and then I had another dialog option.

Thanks for the comments about our game! raeff was very happy about the 5th place for music, since he even did some research about Japanese instruments and searched them in the midi library.

About learning more in the game: The original plan was to let the player not only stick the found kanji in the book but let him or her draw them with mouse gestures. This would actually have been the main part. I still want to do that for a deluxe version of the game.

Here are my comments for the games:

Betrayal
I did like the game mechanics very much. I think the appearing and disappearing rooms presented the state of mind of the protagonist very well. The music was nice but a bit too up-beat for my taste to fit the mood of the game. The theme reminded me a bit of "9 months in".

Draconis!
Well coded Digger-clone. It took me several tries to beat the first level and I gave up on the second. I didn't much like the original, either. I guess this is just not my type of game.

Educating Adventures of Girl and Rabbit
Amusing game, took me a while to figure out what this was about. I loved the slapping animation and the negative counter.

Fly Paper
Too bad you didn't finish it, it was very promising!

Jack Trekker
The secret lovechild of Indiana Jones and Johnny Bravo :) I loved the character and his comments were so much fun! I'd just have expected more puzzles, for example somehow deciphering the hieroglyphs or stuff.

MI
Lovely! Great voiceacting and atmosphere, I loved her hairstyle and the animation. I only wasn't too fond of how this teleporting stuff was done, there could have been more interesting interaction between the two characters.

One Dungeon One Week
Well coded, I even managed to finish this game. Is there something I could do during the fights? Did it matter where I clicked or something?

Sinking
Interesting concept, you seem to like underwater stuff :). Tried it twice at medium difficulty and died twice - is it possible to win this game? I had problems walking to the correct point to climb the ladders.

Tattooroom
Nice idea, funny graphics. I'd have loved to play this with different customers and more templates.

The Addict
The dialog/monolog and setting with talking to bathroom items was fun, I had to laugh out loud several times. Also great music. A bit more polish would have been great, but none the less a good first game, especially considering the short time frame.

The butler didn't do it
Best plot and very nice music. One hotspot was hard to find. I found it hard to walk between the two different parts of the room. People dying one after the other was hilarious.

The Crystal Ball
Interesting idea. I played it twice to see if I could change the outcome by choosing different dialog options. However, I didn't notice much difference. Did she say a wrong name in the end and if yes, why?

The Reaper
Amazing graphics, also great effect on the jar in the foreground. The walking animation was a bit stiff. After a few times I found the walking forth and back between pump and switch a bit annoying.

The Rebirth
Great story, very emotional. The moment when you open the door was great (especially if you played The Reaper before). I wonder where this is going.

I think the best way to manage modules would be a central database and people get the modules from there via a GUI like NuGet or the Firefox Add-on System.

All entries where great and I'm happy to confirm that every game got votes in at least two categories, with most games getting votes in every category.
Also people did not blindly vote for the same game but really did consider which game would deserve a win in which category. So thank you all for spending the time to make such thoughtful votes!

I am very impressed with the high quality of games and want to thank all game authors and contributors for their great effort. It's amazing what you have accomplished in just one week.

Finally thanks to AGA for setting up the voting system and announcement and the moderators for supporting this event.

I will write a short review for each game in the next few days.
@Moderators: Please keep this thread open for at least another week so people can write comments on the game or this OROW in general.

All game authors are now encouraged to add their names to the game, maybe improve a bit if they want and then upload it to the AGS database.

Last reminder! Voting closes at 23:59 (BST) today!

Yes, I don't know if there was one last year, but the two years before we had a quiz. Everyone brings a small price and the winners can choose the one they want.
