It was when I created a new room. Or when I wanted to open the newly created room? I don't remember and didn't write it down because I sent the error report. Is there maybe a logfile made?

The debugging stuck was when I was having a scripting problem and got an exception. I had to force-close the Studio in Taskmanager.

Should I get BETA 5?

I just got a crash with AGS Editor .NET (Build 3.3.0.1132) ** BETA VERSION ** (that's Beta 4 I think). I sent an error report, does this actually work? Who gets them?

Edit: Now the game/engine crashed when debugging, but no error message.

Could you keep the voting open until after OROW? I have only played one of the games yet...

This is the Monthly AGS competition, so I don't understand why someone would use a different engine...

- The original BASS changed to an "exit" signs when over places where the character would leave the room. Useful, in my opinion, will do that.

I did something like that for SheepQuest, using custom properties to define the direction. I could clean up the code and donate it for your template if you want (that is - after OROW of course, this week I have different priorities ;) )

That's the spirit!

Only three more hours till OROW!
#3307
Indeed, only 5 more hours to wait.

This is a great time to sharpen your pencils, brew some coffee and make sure you have the latest version of AGS installed!

I think Chewbacca will get a close shave...

The time zone is GMT, as stated in the first post.

I added one more rule:

You may get one other person to help you with your game (e.g. music, sounds). Maximum teamsize is two!

For this OROW there will be no topic. But it might be an interesting idea for next OROW. The next organiser should keep that in mind.

Only a few more days!

Interesting idea, this would indeed reduce cheating.

I want to clarify, is the OROW theme-based competition, or one is free to choose the topic/concept?
No, there will be no theme.

How will the jury make sure that nothing premade was used?
Good point. I don't know how this could be done. I think we have to trust that noone is cheating.

Joseph, you can still join. Graphics are only one aspect. You can make simple, crappy MS Paint backgrounds, but when you have great story and puzzles, you can still win in other categories. Or you take your camera and make a photo background, there are many options...

The Rumpus Room / Re: *Guess the Movie Title*

Ah, Wikipedia did solve it: In both, The Crow and Plan 9 one of the actors died during production and was replaced by another person.

When I saw this screen earlier today, I immediately thought of Plan 9, but wasn't sure because I didn't recognize the actor - the cheap background gave it away  ;)

I don't know, some of the puzzles mentioned are more appealing to me than having to read long dialogs and story. If I would like to play IF, I'd play IF and not adventure GAMES. Although I admit that some puzzles tend to be really stupid.

Btw, I read the puzzle tutorial on your page and have to admit that I wouldn't like to solve 10 different puzzles just to get on a plane. This is artificially prolonging the game, as are fetch quests (anyone remembering the rash cure from FotAQ?)

Oh, I completely missed that there is a voting - I vote for Miez. I started to make a white swan opposing his dragon but sadly it was in no way how I wanted it to look and thus didn't finish...

Sing something for us! Or take a look at this game for music and sound effects http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1166/ (it was even nominated for best sound and music!)
#3319
Ok, since there is going to be a sound/music category as every year, I'll stick with the current rules. So only original material except for published modules and templates.

And Cat - rest assured that the seasickness will be optional!

Great news for a landlubber like me :)
