@nihilyst: Actually, the whole scene should be underwater, the 'trees' are supposed to be kelp. Also in picture 3, which is seen from bottom up.

Water dragon, week 1, step 4 - Thinking about composition

I want a setting where the dragon is in its territory and the viewer is an intruder. I tried several poses, not sure yet which one I'm going to use. Any suggestions?

As far as I remember he removed the game because of the panel rating. There is no such rating on AGS Archives so I'd keep it there.

Done with K

I couldn't do the following because of broken download links:

Kill Davy Jones (demo) by FSi - I contacted FSi but he currently doesn't have a copy. Thanks Peder!
King Of Rock - was on bicycles but is not in Peders archive
Kiselyova Unleashed!
Klaus Kerner and the Fate of Atlantis

Hm, I was able to update the download link, but when trying to upload a new screenshot I got first an error that I can't use bmp and then when uploading a png a "Editing game failed."

I somehow lost track who is doing which letter. I'll start doing T if there are no objections.

I think the result varies. But with another 30 minutes you could get a nice background.

The bed and large cupboard look ok, I can immediately see what they are. But the smaller dressers in the background and the bedside table need the drawers, maybe even the handles. I'd also add that vertical lines on the dark wall next to windows. The leftmost and rightmost part of the floor look off perspective-wise.
The pattern on the carpet looks strange. The pillows on the bed look flat. Depending on what objects you want use in your room, I'd add more stuff like the bedside lamps, books and flowers. Or just add other stuff that seems appropriate.

seems a bit undynamic but also somehow fitting for this surprised looking blob...

I like the overall atmosphere a lot. What makes it feel undynamic is the tail I think. There is a lot of tension in the face and arms but the tail seems to be relaxed. Maybe you can change it to a more alert position?

I wanted to make him look like he's in great pain (that thing in his hand is supposed to be his own chopped-off arm), whereas now he just looks like he's doing some sort of a gay dance move.
I like your monster! I just didn't recognize the pain, probably because of the pose - I thought he copped his arm off to use it as a weapon which makes the picture even more creepy  :)
Maybe you could draw some blood dripping from the cut arm and his wound?

Oh, sorry to hear that :( I'm glad you still come to Mittens

Since the player character was a traced Ben Jordan, play those games instead  :P

Awesome, thanks for the link!

Ah, I didn't know that the result should look like this, I thought it was supposed to be more maze like. Anyway, great that it is solved!

Let's take a look at the environment:

Did not look closely at the code yet, but the first thing that comes to my mind is recursion. If I have some time left later this evening I might give it a try.

On first sight, I didn't notice any difference in the faces. Only because you mentioned it and after taking a closer look I noticed the different eyebrows.
Eyebrows alone don't make a facial expression. Tom Bancroft mentions in one of his books, that the eyebrows should be like the top edge of an imaginary super hero mask around the eyes. They only follow the expressions of eyes, nose and cheek.

Water dragon, week 1, step 1
I blatantly stole Ben's layout:

Water dragon, week 1, step 2 - Environment
Let's take a look at the environment:

Water dragon, week 1, step 3 - First sketches (10.5.2013)

Water dragon, week 1, step 4 - Thinking about composition (11.5.2013)
I want a setting where the dragon is in its territory and the viewer is an intruder. I tried several poses, not sure yet which one I'm going to use.

Water dragon, week 1, step 5 - Basic sketch
I decided to do a combination of sketch 1 and 3: the monster attacking through kelp, but with a slightly lowered viewpoint.

A local mirror of the image will also be made on the AGS site every time an image link is updated.

As far as I understood: With the new page, as soon as you change the screenshot, it is also stored on the server.
