Don't you try to shepherd me

Just as others pointed out already - plans are futile. Oh, and +1 for Das Banshee, whenever this might happen during that week  ;)

I also want to add that the long title of the page "Adventure Game Studio | Forums | asdf" shortens in Firefox to "Adventure Game Studio | Forums |..." which is not very helpful finding the right tab...

We should definitely do a bike tour! Also Raeff and I plan to stay in Berlin Sat-Sun for sightseeing.

Lovely ;-D

Looking great! Is there going to be a soundtrack as great as the first game's one? Also, hooray for voice acting!

You asked for a game that takes place on a train - I remember Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None

No, I think this one takes place on an island. Murder on the Orient Express takes place on a train, as well as The Last Express.

I tried to watch the stream, but my connection seems to be to slow, it didn't run smoothly.

The game is now freeware!

Download here

Don't forget to check out the other bake sale games that are now available again, too ;)

Happy birthday, Arj0n!

I'm glad you like it :)

Awesome! (laugh)

Great advice so far, I only add one thing: Start small! Make your first game a small one-room game to learn how to program, draw, animate. You can always make a bigger game later on.

Which reminds me, I still get an error when trying to view an issue:

An Error Has Occurred!

(here I tried to view random issue http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?issue=194.0)

That depends. If you release your game as freeware (which many of us do), then it is freely distributable, and that means that any site may freely and legally choose to host it (but not sell it).
Thanks not true. Freeware only means that you do not charge for it. You still maintain all rights on the game and its parts (story, graphics, music). There was a PR thing where I obtained "The Shiva" for free. Does this mean that I can distribute it now whenever I want? No!
Only if you release your game into public domain you lose all rights connected with it.

General Discussion / Re: Bungee jumping

Jepp, did it there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawarau_Gorge_Suspension_Bridge

It was an interesting experience but one time is enough for me. (I'm afraid of jumping from heights and thought this might help to overcome this fear - it does not)

Perhaps I could disable the run for certain areas I really want the player to take their time, and less important areas (like long non-interactive hallways, streets, etc) the run could be "unlocked".

If you do have long non-interactive hallways - why don't you remove them from the game? Or only let the player walk there the first time they enter the room and afterwards skip it?

I agree that teleporting makes impatient. I'd prefer a doubleclick on exit-teleport to a general teleport.

Funny sidenote: I played a Sherlock Holmes Adventure where he, when walking longer distances, would start to run. But only in outside backgrounds, as he is a gentleman and does not run inside (laugh)

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Sheep Quest

Hooray, Sheep Quest was nominated in the "Best Short Game" category of the AGS awards!

Thank you for nominating!

There are also two new reviews:
German review on asamakabino.de
Skullkid3 plays the first 15 min on Youtube

What actually happened to best music? There are only four titles here and at least I nominated three other games in this category. Or was this a draw between 5th and 6th?
#3500
Wheeeee! Sheep Quest was nominated - thanks for the votes!

It seems that I now have to play many games - of the top nominees I only played one yet! On the other hand I'm happy to see that even some underdogs like '9 months in' or 'RAM ghost' got their votes. Too bad that others didn't make it, like 'The Visitor' for example. Nice to see Unga and Gray nominated. But Gray a short game? Gosh, I must be a really slow player, it took me several hours to complete - congrats on the background nom, well deserved!

Congrats to all nominees - now on to playing games!
