I voted, I hope my votes were accepted. When I click the nominations link again, the selections are cleared there.
Also, I had problems nominating for best player/nonplayer character. I didn't remember some of the names and I'm not sure even all of them HAD a name. Will the votes there be counted anyway, even if spelled incorrectly?

Icey just turned 18! How does it feel to be an official grownup? Happy Birthday!

I only like poems if they are accompanied by great drawings or are at least layouted in a creative way. So I probably wouldn't buy a book containing poems.

I'd prefer separate books and in printed form (I hardly read ebooks)

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Gray

I played this game recently together with my boyfriend, so here comes a short review (some spoilers included):

The graphics are great, the restriction to four colors gives it a unique style. I also like the "palette rotation" where the color of the sky changes with the daytime. The backgrounds are very atmospheric despite the (self imposed) technical limitations, especially the apple trees and lakeside.
There are tons of animations, even for picking up or using objects. My favourite is still the tiptoing one, though. And the woodpecker, with it's fitting sound effect.
The music is great, with the firefly screen one being my favourite. However, the first barnscene tune I found a bit distracting.
The puzzles are clever and make totally sense in their non-sensical way. The only problem was that I somehow missed that my main goal is to have night come. I only realised this after I solved the first sun puzzle. However, we managed to complete it without a hint or walkthrough. The pacing was good and the puzzles fun.

As great as the above mentioned things are, there is also something we didn't like:
For us there was too much text. The Wikipedia trivia got annoying after some time and if we weren't playing together and waiting for the other one to finish reading, I'd have probably skipped much of the text. The first half of the game this was a funny new idea, but in the second half this started to get really boring. Also, telling the Star Wars bedtime story did not only bore the sun but also us players. Here again it was this "should we read on?" and "meh, if you want, I don't really care anymore".
I think I'd enjoy a short, witty comment much more than this endless trivia. There were a few nice jokes about stuff like gravity affecting Gray, but then they were almost ruined by continuing babbling. I also think the outtro should have ended after the fantastic animation sequence flying through 4-color space and planets. The moon scene spoiled that artistic feeling for me.

Conclusion:
Great graphics to enjoy with fitting music and atmosphere, nice gameplay idea (sun, time of day) but the main character is just too verbose and does not get to the point.

It's not a quality issue, it's just that we like to have CDs with nice covers that we can put on a shelf. ;)

16 min is indeed a bit short for a CD, but once you manage to record more and make a CD, let me know!

Nice music! Too bad, there is no CD version.

It just happened again - I voted a game (subAtomic) and added a comment. The votes were stored, the comment not.

I just finished the game with 4 of 8 achievements.
Spoiler
Now I know what the plastic soldiers are for.

+) The story is fun and the setting with the agents starting on top and on bottom was excellent.
+) The backgrounds were even better than in Visitor 1 I think. Also lots of animations.
+) The sound effects were very fitting
+) The puzzles - logical and fun.
+) The pacing. There were what feels like millions of different, well drawn rooms, that where unlocked one by one without being overwhelming. Also the idea of using shortcuts was nice.
+) Switching between player characters
Spoiler
...and playing the green slime

+) It was generally fun to play, made me laugh out loud several times.

-) The puzzle with the car. This almost ruined the beginning for me. Even after I got the solution I think this is badly implemented. Just walking away should have been a solution.
-) There could have been more interaction between the player characters
Spoiler
I really thought I could use the barrel to exchange items. I often thought "as soon as I can exchange items, I'll give that to the other player". On the other hand it was fun to see items in the range of one character that the other might need (valve, condom,...)

-) The dialogs were a bit strange, often I could not figure out following which pattern the options appeared and disappeared.
-) Two glitches
Spoiler
*) after lifting the crane, the magnet was still visible from the screen with the squirrel
*) after Scar was cought I could see him standing on the roof from the distance.

Great game, I really enjoyed the story, characters, backgrounds and puzzles. I think chances look good for the upcoming awards!

I'm stuck again  :(
Spoiler
I fixed the telescope but can't use it from the roof, I've been to the basement and found the keys, I have two plastic soldiers, have cut the antenna, and I have seen a short cutscene with a yet unfamiliar room where the dead animal was lying.

I just voted and wrote a comment for "Cherry's Quest for Coffee". The votes seem to be accepted, but the comment was not added.

Which user?  I've taken a look at various people's profiles, and it doesn't happen to me!
Interestingly, it doesn't happen to me now on this PC. I'll keep an eye on that and try to find out when it happens.

This only seems to happen on my PC at work, but here it happens all the time. Maybe the forum wants to tell me I should work instead of viewing user profiles?

At the bottom of a person's profile page I see
"Database Error"
"Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator."

Isn't it also possible to start an AGS game from withing a running AGS game? This could be a way to add more stuff i.e. change the game that is started. You can also make a special save game that is not visible in save game list and when this save game exists you can unlock extra content.
#3519
Great game! I did like the dialog and the event-triggered story progression. The endless scrolling rooms were cool.
It was nice that the dialog options changed depending on what persons I met and stuff I discovered. However, at the beginning this didn't work correctly - for example, I could ask the coat check bot (my favourite character btw) about the cheese before I even knew this was about cheese - except from the game's title.

I almost guessed who took the cheese
Spoiler
I thought it was the mayor

Hilarious characters, ridiculous story and lots of investigation - probably my favourite Barn Runner game so far.
