As far as I remember there is (or at least was) a limit on GUI elements (buttons etc) which I ran into when coding Steamsquares. Don't know if this limit still exists though.

Before my first Mittens I made at least a MAGS game because I thought it would be embarrassing otherwise. Turns out, some people neither made nor played AGS games  :P

Yeah, completely outdated, they still talk about Blue Lobe Inc and set the date to January 15th.

Btw, what does "Full of win" mean?

I'd ask at the hotel reception, they might be able to organise a car for you. In most cities there are those special airport taxis that have to be preordered but are cheaper than regular taxis.

Got it!

Spoiler
I tried the branch on the faeries. on the flowers, on the grass, but not on the fountain... I completely forgot about what they said and couldn't talk to them anymore, but there still was a hotspot for them.

Ok, I've written down the way through the path.

but
Spoiler
The faeries in the pub garden won't talk to me anymore and I can't do something else there. Also, strangely Cliona won't tell me anything about the strange instrument or take a look at it.

True. we probably should try to get to a higher level. Maybe we can escape through the elevator shaft.

I don't think it's a problem performance-wise. But if there are lots of characters, the player might expect to be able to interact with them. So each of them should have some dialog to go through and they should have (at least slightly) different personalities.
So the question is not if the engine can handle it, but if YOU can handle it.

I'd rather have muffins falling down from sky... ;D
Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to playing this!

Happy Birthday, SSH and m0ds!

Obviously, I have to vote for Cleanic's cat (No 2). Because of my name, because the cat was a very important mythological animal (godess Bastet), because of the clever use of the shape and because it is simply well done.

In fact, I played through most of the early adventure games at his house (Monkey Island 1, Maniac Mansion, Fountain of Youth) and I didn't have my own computer until 1992 when I got an Amiga 1200.

I new that FoY has been in the works for quite some time, but I wouldn't consider it "early adventure games"  :P

Again, this isn't about the ratings at all. It's about defining which of the not yet categorized (or categorized as MAGS, jokegame) games are eligible for "best short game" "best demo" and "best nonadventure game". Medium and full length games shouldn't be affected by that at all. Ideally someone will make a list of the games in question and people who have played them will help to categorize by simply posting their opinion.

Interesting thought. This would be most useful for character animation and could bypass the problem of jagged sprites when scaling.

I'm not sure about backgrounds though. All the walkable areas would have to be vectors too and you can't work with pixel positions then. One workaround could be to add a new type "point" like hotspot or object that you could refer to in script. But this is a bit far fetched I guess.

Usually the nomination script only allows to select games that fit in the category i.e. you are not allowed to nominate a full length game in the "best short game" category. That's why the categories have to be correct before the nomination starts. It's not about the ratings, it's about technical issues.

About categorizing: should we do a list of games not yet in any category and decide if they are short/medium/full/nonadventure so they are eligible for short/nonadventure category like last year?

I don't know if this messes up the panels workflow of rating games, but I think this is important.
