General Discussion / Re: Getting a bit scared.

I can confirm from personal expirence: yes, it is possible to reduce your food to noodles, rice and potatoes for a few years. Cook yourself, that saves a lot of money. Also, check at the cafeteria what meal has the best price/calories relation.

And inviting yourself to your parents for lunch on Sundays is always an option!

Skip the 'h' especially if a word starts with one.

Oh, too bad you won't come to Dublin, I hope you can make it to Mittens.

Btw, I booked my flight yesterday!

What about a combination like Vamborg - Curse of The Swarm

Why not use the borg-guy as application icon?
#4006
That's supposed to be the bionic eye. Obviously it's not recognizable so feel free to do a paintover  ;)

I made some gui icons, one for normal and one for highlight (over object)

Is it ok to do another task although I already worked an hour on the project?

I don't think the sprite has to look exactly like OSD. If it did, where would be the artistical challange?

Icey: The rules of sprite jam usually say that you should post only one sprite that you created for this competition and have not been shown before. So why don't you just draw a new, special competition version of OSD and post it as your entry?

This unity thing wants me to install some player as well, so not for me.

I like the general composition of your last pic, but is the walkable area really only the small area on the left?

I see what you're getting at, but I think Photoshop-painted backgrounds with pixel-art characters can look alright.

Yes, they can work, but hardly with those PS-pattern brushes. Try to colour the new sketch you made just with simple circular brushes, it will look much nicer.

tzachs, a special request for you: Would it be possible to make the search result/usages window resizeable like the projecttree/properites window on the right side? (btw, thanks a lot for these two features!)

The stars don't look too bad, it's the lensflare that makes it inconsistent. Do you have it on a separate layer? Can you show the pic without the lensflare?

Well, Tabata, you would be the perfect beta-tester!

Happy birthday, Ascovel!

Nice clean style, but the photocopier is way too clean. Such a thing has buttons and drawers. Google for references.

They kind of remind me of MindMaze from Encarta 95 for some reason.

A blast from the past :o, I think we got the encarta 95 as an extra with our first non-second-hand pc back then.

I think it's surreal too because of the paper-cut look. I think it's not a bad thing, as it gives the game a unique, artsy style.

Anyone else travels that late? Or does anyone has a car at Rosslaire and could pick me up?

I don't know if anyone will have a car, but you might consider going to Rosslaire by taxi from there.

I used this site http://taxiregulation.nationaltransport.ie/for-users/tax-fare-calculator/ and it says â,¬20.20 to â,¬28.60. â,¬23.60 to â,¬31.80 at night

This is also good to know if we want to go to Wexford during the week.

If you decide to show a  monster after all, make sure the penalty for dying is brutal... I mean, games have become too forgiving these days- you die, and it's like: no big deal, I'll just start from the checkpoint and try again. That can never be scary! Not in a million years. There must be something that  you lose when you die...

That may be true for the first time, but once you have to reload immersion is gone and by the third time you have to reload it's not scary but annoying. The checkpoint thing is actually quite a good idea, as the player might not fall into paranoic saving (which also destroys immersion) if it is done automatically.
