So, about getting there - are there any plans now on travelling together from Arezzo?

Just saw this, my vote goes to SookieSock.

Nice entries, everyone, and congrats to the winner!

Just a few comments:

Wall-E: The Fan Game by markbilly
Such a cute game, I totally loved the animation of getting the box from your back and moving the waste cubes. I also did like the tutorial mode. However, hotspots where hard to hit and sometimes I wasn't sure what to do.

Vector Vendetta by Radiant
Interesting game, well executed coding and graphics wise, but I guess I'm not patient enough for this kind of game.

The Parrot Snatchers by Grim
Overall good puzzles, very good choice of (ripped) music, I totally like the end. Some sceens where clearly the product of a teenage boy and I hated that I had to use the "use" cursor to exit a room, especially in the scrolling rooms.

Living Nightmare: Endless Dreams by Domithan
I decided to play the first part before this one which was a good decision. Totally atmospheric game, the second part is event better than the first, I like that the second one references the first one. So I didn't vote for this game, because its part of series and wouldn't work as stand-alone.

Head Over Heels by cat
I'm still looking for a composer  ;)

Aidas Strange Christmas by King_wiking
Great game with great puzzles, my favorite.

Finally, there's one reason I can think of to put in "trivia" lines in conversations: When the player is going to be playing a certain section for a while, and might go back and talk to the same character multiple times. If there is something new to say each time, even if it's not important, it can make the situation seem less static and contrived.

Now that's a good point you have mentioned. I hate it, when I want to talk to a person about task B I have to do and the only option I can talk about is about task A that I've already completed. I know it is a lot of coding to do, but it's definitely worth it (positive example: Nelly Cootalot).

Parsers have to be well implemented. When I played the Shiva, after I finally managed to get the password of the computer, I totally forgot the name of the guy I was supposed to look up. And there was no way to find it again (afaik). I had to save the game, re-watch the intro scene and then load the game again.

So if you are doing a parser game, you have to take care that no keywords are only mentioned once or so.

Great to see this is in production again!

Just voted (not for me of course), so just to remind you all, only 2 days left!

I want to improve my MAGS game "Head over Heels" before adding it to the database. So I'm looking for a MIDI-composer. If you are interested, pm me for details.

Edit: Position filled!

I like the final best. The coat merges too much with the dress.
#4250
A shrug is some kind of leggins for the arms. It's actually just arms connected at the back. It is not very business style.
The dress is very stylish but timelessly, so don't worry about that.

Oh, and have you tried adding one pixel to the height of the heels?

@King_wiking

Spoiler
I also had problems with the stable/wolverboggs, because I skipped the text too fast where he told me where I should go. I had to reload a savegame and re-read the dialog. Maybe he could just repeat where to go, now he just says something like "hit the wolverboggs"

Ok, now we are going into some hardcore style discussion.

The leggins now look very stylish and up-to-date. I'd wear them not with a bolero jacket but with a shrug. On the other hand this doesn't look very business and who knows, how long leggins will be fashionable anymore.

The sheath dress she is wearing now (yes, I checked this word on LEO  ;) ) is very stylish AND business but I'd skip the leggins.

For the bolero colour: It could be black, but that would make a lot of undistinguishable dark pixels. Or purple. But then I'd try to make the shoes purple as well. Might look great. Or she just wears the dress. A bolero is not really needed unless its cold or rainy. Then she could wear a black raincoat.

@abstauber
I'm just glad that you have more than one set of clothes per season  ;)
#4254
@Try 1:

The shoes have to fit either the clothes, the hair, the handbag or the lipstick in colour. Besides that, it looks good!
#4255
Less curvy figure, strong lines, now she's rather smooth. A pointy chin and nose maybe.

And I like the idea of a tie. Maybe a black jacket, short skirt and purple tie and high-heels. That would fit her slightly purple hair reflections.

I don't think it is really too much, but when I look at a site I usually start in the top left. Here I see a black/orange gradient and when I look down orange dots.
This is something different and ok to attract attention.

But then I'm not sure whether I should read the stuff that is right under "Profile" or left under the navigation bar.

You have to guide me visually to where I should look next.
#4258
Maybe it's just me, but when I first opened the page I didn't really know where to focus or where to start to read.
Also, this large image in the upper left area vanishes when I navigate the menu.

Thank you Leon for your kind comments! I know that there are some animations missing, it was simply a matter of time. Before I release the game into the "wilderness" of the games db, I will surely add the missing animations. And hopefully I will find a composer for some music.

Oh, and thanks for the walkthrough, btw  :D

Here is my entry for this competition. I started it in March for the "A game of two halves" competition but did not finish.
Music is still missing, but it's well worth playing, I think.

Edit: Leon made a walkthrough that can be found here.
