that's about  what cj told me when i asked why he won't release ags as open source under some open-source license like the gpl.

sorry guys, but my system was nearly ok for the time i had corrupt ram (about half a year).
it just crashed on some things, like i could not play battlefield longer than 15 minutes, but only if more than 8 people are on the server.
i could not host different games, c&c generals always crashed after half an hour.
video encoding was impossible.

and all i got was a bsod which told me i had an irq problem, then i ran memtest86, it found that half a million errors, and i bought new ram, since then my system hardly crashes at all.

and 800 errors isn't that much, so the possibility of a crash caused by the ram is very small, which means it won't happen very often (every half an hour or so), maybe only once a month.

and since he already knows he's got faulty ram he should replace it.

as cj told me, he won't make it open source.
you could easily write a decompiler for ags-games then, which means you could hack other games, cheat at them or rip their sprites and other stuff, just like it was your own game.

and we're already capable of writing plugins for different things. and i don't think that many people would understand the ags-source
