actually, i expected you to do a lfs or install gentoo. fair enough, this gave you more than enough troubles for a start.

now get rid of suse and install something less idiot-ish, something like debian or ubuntu, and learn some basics about your system
ubuntu would be fine for you, i guess. it's very easy, recognises most of your hardware and does basically everything for you. debian would be the next step, when you realise that ubuntu is too "easy".
ubuntu is made "for human beings", which means you don't have to configure the least bit.
that's fine, but on the other hand that may be exactly what you want to do.

I am not going to take a position because sometimes, when some complains about other person, this first guy starts an "urban legend" which has nothing to see with the reality. I' ll wait till reading Hajo' s version. He allways seemed a good guy and I am sure his version will differ a lot from PMDEEs.

If PMDEE' s version results to be completelly real, well, I don' t think that there's a need to make a mountain about this, Hajo was probably making a (IMO, failed) joke, there' s no need to crucify anyone... but then my opinion would move to: "Ops... relax a bit"

as you can see we unbanned pmdee later, which is not related to ManicMatt coming to #ags and complaining about his friends being banned. they would've gotten unbanned in the next few hours, anyway.

That is probably me? I was banned for one night because I didn't want to go bed when Hajo told me to, when I was a bit drunk that night, but I wasn't flaming or spamming. Yep, I got banned for not wanting to go to bed!

If you receive a ban, but feel it was unjust, take it up privately with the Op who banned you. Do not whine about it on the forums or other IRC channels.
Only the Op who created the ban may remove it. If the Op who banned you has been absent from the channel for a significant time (over 1 week), then you may request that another Op review your case.

other than that i can say for myself that i've had a genuine, valid reason for banning you
