General Discussion / Re: The power of Google

QuoteParanoia :p
Yeah I know it's a bit paranoid, and much of what the movie is sugessting is just speculations. However, what worries me is that we in small steps will accept a society were the privacy is no more.

For example, in my country the police has gained a lot of power to copy internettraffic from your computer and bug people who is suspected for crimes. It is of course to prevent crimes, and it's quite logic since the crimes are increasing on the net. Still it is a step against less privacy, think about the day when they put up cameras in our homes to prevent crimes.

I'm not saying that this is going to happen, but I don't think that people shall just accept stuff like this. I think that we always must be a little suspicius and paranoid, it's better than just accepting everything. I'm not saying that Google is an evil company who wants to controll the world, but you must stay critic.

QuoteAgain, it depends on who decides what makes you a "terrorist". For example, some people could deem the AGS forum member potentially terroristic, seeing how less many of us like the United States / Bush (whom I'd like to nail on the next tree, for one  Wink)

Yes I see your point and agree, even though that of course too is a bit exaggerated(?!), at least for the moment :P;)

I saw this film the other day, and I can't say I'm suprised. I'm getting a little "Big Brother" feeling, althought I know that this is just one movie, and that the creators may exaggerate(?) alot...

What do ya think?

I've never been that big fan of Elvis, but recently I've been startin to listen to him.
I was looking for some live concert when I found this, it's a video just 6 weeks before he died, he's a wreck of his former self, but still, you see why he was called the king.

It has been over a week now yes? ;D

The reason I ask is because I really want to compete, I haven't been doing music now for a while, and if the competition starts after the weekend it will be hard for me to compete, I've got a hard schedule.

General Discussion / Re: iphone

Well, this is what I think after been hearing the keynote. I think the greatest advantage the iphone will have is that it's very easy to use. My experience is that that is what apple stands for, I know because I switched from a pc to a mac a while ago and the mac is so much easier to use.
I belive that the iphone will be sold to many of those who thinks that it's way to tricky to use the other cellphones to connect to internet and and stuff like that. And it doesn't look that geeky as computerphones use to do, it's very well designed.

What worries me: is the iphones touchscreen gonna work, and why don't they got 3G.

I ment the vsti's you used :) I should have said software instruments ;)

I use Edirol Orchestral for my strings, horns and woodwinds. And some various other free ones for diffrent stuff ... you don't have a good bass guitar vsti do you?
I've been looking for a while now, and I can't seem to find anything that sounds good.

Ah, ok :) Well I'm on a mac so I probably won't be able to help you. I use the program Garage Band wich is included  when you buy the computer. The most of the instruments are included in the program from the start, and also you could get some updates.

I find this program complete for my purposes. I'm able to record and do some mixing in the program, and it's pretty easy to use.

Hehe, yes that would look bad  ;) , it will be interesting to hear what you come up with instead...

About the synths, sorry my english isn't very good, do you mean what different instrumentsounds I use in my music program or do you mean what kind of electric piano I record with?

It was fun participate in a tune contest, so I'll do it again. However, this week I got a lot of test in my school, so I decided to leave my contribution to the contest now. That means that my tune isn't that good and well-worked as I wanted it to be, but I thought "What the heck, the more participants, the more glory to the winner".

So here's ma song: http://www.uppit.com/N56HZ

I thought about a lonely and misunderstood man who in rage avenges upon the whole world.
He is not evil itself, just lonely, that's why I put in a kinda postive part too.

Yes, I agree with Mashpotato, the drums doesn't fit. Or at least they take up too much room, maybe just some, what-do-you-call-it?...discreet perssuicion? But apart from that it's a very nice piece of music and I'm a bit gelous :P

I've finaly got my new music program (actualy, I got a new computer too), and I've been doing some random music to test the features. I've only been working with midiprograms until I got this program, so this is very exciting.

Now I'm done with my third song and I thought it would be time for some critism. So, please do comment anything you find disturbing. For example, the mid-section does it work? The intro? I was going for a film-theme feeling, with one "evil" and one "good" part.

I would be very happy for every comment, this piece probably will not end up in a adventure game, but later on I plan to use this program to make the music for the game me and my friend are working on.

I call it "Drama at the hill", in lack of a better name.

The Rumpus Room / Re: Best ROCK song ever!

I probably think it's Pink Floyd- Comfortably Numb.
But yes, it's impossible to really say that one single song is the best.

Right now I think it's the best..maybe...

"Despite the warnings of admiral Ackbar"
Hahaha I just love that kind of jokes...
I like your style very much, unfortuenly I don't get the main joke, probably because of my bad english, or because it's too geeky.  ;)

General Discussion / Re: The nintendo Wii
Mon 09/10/2006 16:51:44
As a relativly old nintendo player, I'm begining to see the, what do you call it? a pattern?
Every time nintendo invents a new thing who takes the gaming to a new level, everybody goes like: "That is such a bad idea " or "that's ridiculous". Almost everytime, the invention is a great succes and it always ends up with that Sony and
the other companies copies nintendos idea. The psp and the playstations controller is good examples of that.

Without Nintendo the game industry never would go anywhere, it would just be a boring competition of who got the best graphics and that stuff. I don't buy my gaming console because it got a big harddrive(thats what the computer is for), I buy it for the gaming experience. And about the the Wii name, well at least nintendo dares to take a chance. The boring Sony company simply put a 1 or a 2 or a 3 etc... behind playstation. Wow that sounds..fun. And wooa, microsoft was the brave this year, they put three numbers behind their old name.

Alot of my friends do have the other consoles, so I belive that I can make a good opinion.

Pew, that felt good, and now I'm going to sit down and enjoy a bit of Zelda, the best game in the world.
