I liked this game. But it was spoilt by bugs an annoying crudeness. This game could do with a remake since the remaining bugs won't get fixed.

Hints & Tips / Re: Radiant's Kings quest 3

So thats where it got to. :o

I thought this game has passed on since I helped with beta testing for a while till the website disappeared.

I hope my old friend Radiant is still making this game. It was a promising and ultimately interesting looking game. The improvement in plot was astonishing. I think he even fixed that annoyin part where you had to walk down the cliff from Manannans house.

I have done something similar before. ;D

If you use using RawDrawLine for your lasers. To kill the character being zapped, you need to compare his Y position with the position of the laser itself with a 5% tolerance of error. You could create an everlasting sprite for a segment of lasers and RawDraw it across the screen until its projectile position matches that of a baddie then KABOOM.

Somehow I reckon you may be better off using a object of a missile or something coz i think that will look better. Then you can just use AreCharObjColliding() if that func still exists. Unfortunately that would limit the amount of bullets you can shoot at any one time with AGS's limited objects.

There is no pefect way of doin this in AGS coz its not designed for this sort of thing really.

What I wanna know is how are you controlling the bad guys. Are they characters, objects or a series of sequenced RawImages? Again, if you use objects or characters, I think you may limit how many can display on the screen at any one time. And you may have to copy and paste a little script for each individual duplicated objects. There are many ways of doin this. Take your pick.

wow. what controversy. This ought to be interesting  :=

Anywayz, I just tried out the demo. Didn't get far coz I got stuck when I was riding that grappler thingy and returned to the control room. It would no longer move.

Sum of the gfx do look sloppy at this stage but so far it seems you are truly doing a good job. Its true that a point-n-clic port of this game would be great. I look forward to the release.  ;)

I chose this remake to learn how to script in AGS. I will try to make the game like the original, including the arcade sequences. But i know it will be very hard to make then like the original.

If you only work to learn how to script. Why bother updating the gfx in a pointless way? Why not just leave the original gfx as they are and implement the point and click functionality. What better way is there to practise your AGS scripting skills using readymade gfx.

a fine piece of work.

Although I must stress that full level design will be complicated if it can only be achieved by typing commands. (this is why i abandoned DarkBASIC) But this module will have many many cool uses. Such as a space harrier fan game. I may find it useful if my Ray Bexter II game ever gets going.

Good job!  :D

Hehe thanx MillsJross

I know you said in that review that you hope to see more by moi but it seems I'll have to disappoint you as my student life has invaded.

I finally got round to reading your response.
BTW, I like the new website and its good to hear that QFI is still going.

If I started a fight here, it wasn't my intention(it never is) but the sudden emerge of the assuming JK seems to inspire this stuff.

OMG. University work distracts you BIG TIME. Sorry to bump this thread but I only just discovered my rudeness in not fixing the URLs on request.

Looks like I abandoned all this crap and left all these promises unfulfilled. Tragic.

I started writing for a possible Ray Bexter II but that still gotta get some more inspiration.

Barbarian: OK I just updated the links and removed that anomymizer stuff. It was used to get around that direct-linking issue wit geocities. You'll probably have to go to my website first before and download it there.
If anyone can offer best host space if this game is worthwhile, I'm listening.

I remember I already offered to assist you beta testin for QFI. Somethin tells me you have lost interest in making QFI.

I guess thats understandable what with the temptation of KQ3VGA. But QFI man!

The title Another World has already been published by Delphine Software and a classic game it was too.

Please change the title :P

Theres nothing wrong with my monitor. Its just the font. You should change it for a better lookin one ;)

well I ain't finished it but I like the sprites even if they are rips.

Shame that they don't blend well with the backgrounds.

Game is OK. I really like the music. You didn't rip that too did you?! :o
One think that really bugs me is you using the default AGS font which just don't work in 640x400.

Looks interesting :)

Downloading......

Any chance we could see a sample of your skills as an artist?

Why not redraw a old KQ3 into VGA or do a character portrait.
#116
This AGS used to compile that prog was buggy.

The game itself is also buggy. And the game has been abandoned too by the authors.

Seems the only chance of fixing game bugs is with a hex editor.

BlackThorne: Don't forget that sum1 once offered to be a love slave to the creator of KQ3VGA. Get cracking :P

NO! It wasn't me!!!!!!!!!!

Mhawk it is.

He quit ages ago and his project wasn't lookin good anyways.

Forget that one ever existed.

If I can find a way to eliminate the 3 bears, I'll let you know. Thing is, it doesn't have to be poisoned porridge. Killing Manannan can be done in an entirely different way.

The trouble with this game is that its confusing for people like me who have played the original. I assume that the puzzles are kinda the same even though they ain't.

It took me ages to figure out how to avoid drinking the poison drink. If you haven't done so already, you should extend the time before you get zapped in that scene.

The game should probably be more different. You have added to the original but don't seem to have CHANGED original stuff dramaticly.
I think its the graphics. They are the same layout which mixed up this game with the old one 4 me and the fact that all the puzzles aren't possible to solve yet merely adds to my confusio ergo I think you should have programmed ALL puzzles in llewedor first before you released public betas.

A suggestion!

Get rid of the 3 Bears House just like how AGDI got rid of the Little Red Riding Hood element.
