Forums like these truly are the best places to make such jokes.

Full of gulliable members.

Good one CJ, I'm laughing my head off.

I believe someone should upgrade SQ2 to AGS like with LSL2 point and click.

It'd be a start to keep us sane for a while. SQ2 could have SQ3 graphics at the very least.

Same goes for KQ3.

Critics' Lounge / Re:swamp

I really had to pump the brightness to da MAX on my monitor to see this.

It's not bad but it doesn't seem very swamp like. It looks more to me like a dark field at night with a few trees. You should add brown patches to make the place look messer because right now, it looks.....clean. Are swamps meant to be clean? I think not  ;)

not bad though, good effect but it needs to be a little more complex I believe

Looks like you've failed to attract attention here.

The whole SQ2VGA has gone tits up since Tierra cancelled their hidden project to a pathetic SQ2 remake by kippesoep that just ain't happening.

Still, good luck to you anyways

What AGS version are you using?

Have you tried commenting out all the blocking functions within the room script since the problem doesn't seem to be in the global script unless I'm overlooking something.

Show us your room script code as well please  ;)

i suspect its a bug.

I tried what AGA said already.

Spoiler

I applied the sunscreen when larry was in the lifeboat just before the close up and the wig. The wig seemed to work OK.

Logically, this method should work.

I'm having trouble applying the sunscreen.

I applied just after Larry jumps into the lifeboat but he still gets burned up. Says its not waterproof.

Can I just say the name Another World is already taken!

An truly excellent game by Delphine software and I'd recommend it if you ain't played it before.

Anyway, the point is, you should change the name.

AGS Games in Production / Re:AGS MiniGolf

Very very good.

I sense a 2004 AGS award on its way. ;)

To display an number in a GUI, it needs to be converted to a string.

This is how I did it...

StrFormat(health, "%d",GetGlobalInt(10));
SetLabelText(3, 8,health);

where 'health' is the string to be drawn on the GUI and 'GlobalInt(10)' is the health stat.
#151
It is definitely possible.

QFG2VGA will include the feature. Look at the file commands in the manual.
#152
Not bad. Not bad at all.

One bug though. You can take the skipping rope a second time after you're used it.

Hey! easy mistake.
#153
you could try the CCS plugin.

its good for controlling who aren't in the same room as the player character.

I have the same problem. I hav to do ctrl-alt-del to escape the situation. The 2nd time it works. Seems to have gotten worse though since you modified the test game part.

I have Win XP

Pentium 4 2.0GHZ

GeForce4 MX

256 RAM

I can't wait for this one. Looking good.

How do you create such backgrounds?

Advanced Technical Forum / RestartGame ()
Sun 11/01/2004 12:46:49
I have a situaion where one function calls a second function which calls a third function which calls a fourth function which contains a RestartGame () command.

But after that fourth and final function ends, the rest of the code within the original function continues and the game don't restart until the first function ends.

I don't want that. I want the restartgame() command to work instantly! Why doesn't it?

I love da BG's. I just hope it ain't lucasfan playing a cruel practical joke. It would be a waste of a good BG artist. ;)

*cracks knuckles* :P

May I ask a question about this?

Do you actually plan on writing your own scripts or are you copying odd and sods from the series.

During conversations, you'll need to include a lot of quick funny lines. IE

Rimmer to holly:
"You're about as much use as a condom machine in the Vatican"

And you should include Rimmer and his directive numbers which he keeps getting wrong.

Sorry I didn't mean to petronize you.

I find Office totally boring. OK it has made me laugh a few times but too few.

Office is too dull and samey and that christmas special was rubbish. Yes the actors are good. In fact there the only good thing about it.

Coupling is much funnier and very well crafted with great actors, great scripts and good characters like JEFF and his phases like the
Melty Man(I'll never forget that one)
Giggle loop
Nudity buffer
and steve funny speech about cushions and their purpose. WATCH IT!
The situations the characters get themselves into in Coupling are hilarious. Never before have I seen such a extremely well put together comedy.
Steven Moffat is a comic genius!

Office is rancid.

One other comedy/gameshow I'd like to mention:

DISTRACTION!
