I think the funniest ad I've ever seen is the one for some kind of beer where the guy sees a cute little puppy and is being all baby-talkie to it, and a giant beercan falls from the sky and crushes him.

It's too bad people think beer makes them real men...

I remember also having watched one of those "funniest commercials" thing where there was a nerdy little Japanese guy with a hot babe. They were together in a bar or something, and he all of a sudden just got up and said "I must go back to Tokyo!" and he started running out of the room. The girl, meanwhile, is screaming "WHYYYY!!!!" repeatedly, and attacking him to stop him from leaving. He gets in a car, and a bus, and a boat I think, and eventually gets on a little cropduster and starts flying away. All the while, he is repeatedly screaming "I MUST GO BACK TO TOKYO!!!" and she is screaming repeatedly "WHYYY!!!!" and she throws a high-heeled shoe at the plane, which makes it fall from the sky. The commercial freezes, and they show the product, which is totally unrelated. I don't even remember what it was.

Has anyone seen this? I would love to get my hands on it. If someone finds it and could link me up, that would be great...

I was very disappointed when Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments said Jaws was the scariest film ever. It was a shark that ate people. I used to live on an island, and sharks ate people all the time, not to mention Portuguese Man o' Wars stinging and poisoning people, Skunks farting their disgust all over people and making them horribly ill, an anthrax scare that made it so I was locked inside a Supermarket for two days, religious zealots beating a kid up because he proclaimed on public television that he liked "the rock and roll music," and an insane killer who tore his stepdaughter to shreds after raping her and left her body all over the house for her mother to find.

Diagonal loops is clicked, or else it wouldn't show the diagonal loop when turning. I know, I tried. When I unclick diagonal loops, the only difference is that the character turns without using the diagonal loops. Example: from facing down, when instructed to go up he faces right then faces up then starts moving. With diagonal loops clicked, he would have instead faced down right, right, up right, up, and then started moving up. I know this is a repeat for the third time, but the problem still remains.

Corey: Unless I'm mistaken (which, you know, I'm not), you=needs t3h less asscaptainry.  Not every single thing you post has to be sarcastic, rude, or condescending. This is the Critic's Lounge, not the "This sucks, and that's all I'm going to say" Lounge. You could at least tell him ways of improving it, if you don't like it.

I've been following this for a while, but haven't had much to say till now. I like Krysis' interpretation, but he doesn't seem to like having cloaked men that aren't hunched, which from my understanding you don't want.  The bottom of yours is flat... it either needs feet or to be rounded out, or at least to be bunched at the bottom if it is falling flat to the ground.

Did you mean to say "automagically?" I like that word, regardless of whether or not you did.

Anyway, the character does use the diagonal loops, but only for turning. When he is moving down, and I tell him to move up and to the right, he turns to his down-right view, then his right view, then his up-right view, then his up view, and starts moving diagonally with the up-view. What I would prefer is if he would move diagonally with the diagonal view. Does that make sense, or did I just repeat what I said last time?

No, I understand now. I kinda did come off as saying that. I can't actually think of a better way to put it. I've worked with all sorts of people... I've seen people throw away their lives because of one bad decision that they were repeatedly warned against. I've seen (as I'm sure we all have, at least from watching Cops women stay with men that eventually kill them, although they are warned that it will happen. I've seen mothers let their children freely wander in the streets and come home shot up from gang violence and not care. I've also seen a young woman, in bad situation, who alot of people on seeing her might pass the judgment that she is a "white trailer trash crack whore" care so much for her five children that she willingly gave up her life to defend them from a robber, even though they resented her and never showed her anything in return.

I guess what I'm saying is that there are some people who don't need to be showered with compassion, but it isn't our job to judge who they are (like Andail said while I was posting this).

However, everyone DOES have a chance to make it, I believe. Strength is a choice. Dignity is a choice. Honor is a choice. Love for others more than yourself is a choice. Sometimes it's a hard choice, but in the end, it is a choice. Some people would rather die than make the right choice, but that is, when all is said and done, a choice.

You had me confused, and then I looked back. I meant to say A... I was at a private college where most people were training for the clergy (I was kind of training for the anti-clergy, but I won't say much more there...), and everyone thought that B was the right answer: turning the Jews over to avoid lying. I meant to say I fought that in college, not that I was the only person who believed that in college. The truth is, I was the only person who thought lying was better than being responsible for innocent lives being taken.

Now, to tack on something non sequitur, why is it that the diagonal views are only shown when the character is turning? I would like it much better if the up-right view were shown when the character is moving up-right instead of the up view... What gives? Is there any way to remedy that???

I made a character view, a 200X200 png. When I imported it into AGS, into a 640x480 room, it was almost as big as the entire screen. When I reduced the resolution to the smallest configuration, there was no change in the character's size. The character I made for my last game was 150x100 at 640x480 res, and he was much too small, but 50x100 pixels should not have made such a difference. Anyone know any reason for this??

argh, nay.... I only know just enough C++ to do a couple mathmatical equations and print to the screen. I can program in every incarnation of BASIC, from the original to VB6, but you're right, it isn't very powerful...

Captain Power (you could buy a little spaceship/gun and fight the badguys in the show. They would shoot at the screen, and somehow the toy would recognize it, and if you got hit the spaceship would "blow up" in your hand)

I would tend to agree, however, (you're going to make me tell more of my story, now. I seriously don't mean to be bogging this thread with my personal crap, but it's important to the topic) I grew up in a poor home, in a little fishing village on the outskirts of a huge, wealthy town full of snobby bastards. I'm a minority (I'm white, but I'm of Portuguese descent, and I only claim minority status because I grew up in a totally Portugi-infested area), grew up living in RV's, and trailers, and was homeless for a year of my childhood (my family ran a little cab company, but couldn't afford an office AND a home, so I slept on hard plastic chairs in the airport where we held our offices). My mother, rather than divorcing my dad, hooked up with a boyfriend and kidnapped me three days before Christmas. My "stepfather" was an abusive, drunken prick, and my mother and he were at a bar one night when I almost died at home of hypothermia when the power failed. When I finally escaped them and ran away back home to my father, three months later I found out he was dying of cancer and had to take care of him for three years, until he died when I was seventeen.

I said all that to say this: I am educated, intelligent, the author of two published books with a third on the way (sorry andail:P). I care very deeply about my fiancee and will try my best to be the best father in the world when we have children together. I have never taken drugs or had too much to drink, and I care enough about my fiancee that I don't sleep around, and I never will.

It's all a matter of choice. Anyone can overcome their situation and raise from their lot in life. The white trailer trash crack whores and their ilk simply choose not to, and don't care one way or the other. Even if I had turned out to be a "product of my environment," I think I might at least be upset when I left my baby to die in the backseat of my car.

I hate everything. Why does it seem that all the American shows made it to other parts of the world, but none of your shows made it to me!!!??? That seems very unfair.

I remember a few other shows. There was a show about a little girl who was really a robot or an alien or something(the themesong was "If You'd Like to Swing On a Star)... And then there was Punky Brewster (my god, did I have a crush on her)...

What about the books you guys used to read? Does anyone remember Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Superfudge, How To Eat Fried Worms....

And Ashen: how is that possible? TMT? Teenage Mutant Turtles? That souds like it would suck all manner of buttocks. Actually, though, I've read the original Eastman and Laird TMNT graphic novels, and they are full of violence/sex/language... The TV version already cut A LOT down... Same with the GI Joe comics.

And how about all these friggin' remakes? Bloody friggin' He-Man, and Transformers (actually, the new transformers show isn't half bad), and Ghostbusters Extreme, and GI Joe Extreme, and TMNT Extreme... They aren't extreme, they're just t3h suck.
