General Discussion / Website Makes History!

I never thought it would happen, but I believe God had the last hit to my web page....

I just felt that was funny, but to legitimize this post a little, I've added some cool pictures if anyone is interested in my film work. There's some cool pics of explosions, things, etc, and stuff here:

Film Goodness!

(some red ex's there simply because I'm still making thumbnails, but still click on them.)

Thanks guys! I'd appreciate some feedback, questions, and whatnot :)

So maybe this has been in the works for a while.  However, the odd coincidence is that I read the bulk of Hitchhikers Guide just tonight and actually get the references to towels and panic and so forth... and thought it highly improbable to come across this article on Ain't It Cool News just now.  I would calculate the probability of this situation as: two to the power of five thousand and falling...

How fast one becomes a fan, pouring out in-jokes..

"the Matrices"

Yeah, that's the real title alright, I dunno where all this "Reloaded" stuff came from.  But I just came back from seeing it.  From a film student's perspective: "eh."  From an every day theatre goers perspective: "woah..."

Naturally this film does not have the catch of creating the "reality" the first one does, it merely expands upon that reality.  Reloaded becomes more and more a cliche sci-fi movie "time is running out" sort of deal minute after minute and the CG at times, altho amazing, is still a bit lacking.  I don't care how many awesome fighting moves a guy uses if he still looks like rubber.   But the fight sequences are nicely choreographed.. and of course highly unrealistic. Haha, but that's 'ok' as long as they are "in the Matrix", right?

There are several sequences that are done in 3d binary which are very comical, even when trying to be serious, and the credits are like 15 minutes long. Haha, but other than the things I've ranted about- the movie is good.  Everyone will end up seeing it of course.

Haha, ever lose access to a forum for just a day- but that was just long enough for you to forget points you were trying to make?  Yeah, sheesh- I'll try to keep up now but I sure lost my rhythm there.  Good luck to you debaters in that respect as well.

In other news, my friend and I have recently been writing heavily for a sketch comedy show that we hope to begin shooting this summer.  I have 15 sketch concepts lined up that I am now finally writing dialogue for.

If anyone would like to contribute, as many have shown interest in this area recently, logos would immensely be appreciated.  The kind that plop down after the first bit on the show with the kickass theme song roaring behind it.  The title of the show (as well as this thread) should already be sending your minds ablazing!

General Discussion / His Oscar in one hand...
Tue 15/04/2003 06:32:20
So today, everyone's favorite political commentator Michael Moore held a speech at the University of Texas here in Austin.  He spoke of the oscar incident, and he even had the trophy there to pass through the audience in a very casual, hilarious way.  He did his normal "schtick" similar to what he said on the Rolling Thunder Tour last year, and he commented on the war as you can imagine.  But all that aside- I have to get this out there, you people must know:

When the speech was over, all questions asked and time out, hundreds of people swarmed the stage to get autographs on their programs or books.  My friend and I had this plan but thought it would be hopeless to reach him.  However, at one point he swept down the stage so everyone could touch the oscar and in my time of glory I did what I had to.

Let's just say that tonight- Michael Moore left the stage with his oscar in one hand, and my short movie "Military Force" in the other.  My friend and I shared many laughs during the walk home.
