Does anyone get the inside joke in this photo?  the picture really confused me for a moment but I think it's hilarious.

this one has running zombies too, correct?

it's interesting that since the original Dawn of the Dead - zombies have only improved by becoming physically fit track stars.  Zombie marathon, who's with me!?

I'll watch this one soon, probably.  I think it would be really funny if the story went as follows:

First act:
Epidemic takes over a community
Our main characters lock themselves in a mall

Second act:
the main characters spend their time enjoying exercise equipment, trying on free clothes, and playing with appliances
the younger hotter characters have meaningless sex with eachother

Third Act:
The main characters, in a bout of stupidity, unlock the door, walk into the parking lot looking for their car only to be shocked.  "Oh yeah! Zombies!"

Saw a 9:30 screening of it tonight.  I tried to see a sneak peek of it more than a week ago but the theatre filled up FAST.

1.  I really dug the visual effects.  Innovative and fit the many moods of the film.

2.  Carrey and Winslet did a good job.

Charlie Kaufman has a style building up which I really like.  Malcovich and Adaptation were amazing.  Human Nature is n't as good but entertaining and similar in nature.  I haven't seen Confessions of a Dangerous Mind yet and really want to.

LGM, how'd you know? :)

What is REALLY scary is that my friend Wayne directs Jimmy Kimmel.  He is right in the heart of the evil.  Is andy the same as the man show boy? I thought there was a separate fat annoying kid.  And Yak- I'm fairly sure Jimmy found Andy's videos on the internet, showed a few on the show, and then called upon andy as his correspondent.

some people will prepare themselves for the hail and flames. others will ask "who is Andy Milonakis?"

I wanted to find a picture that said "bye".  I really wanted something you guys could remember me by- and hopefully something that would bring you guys together.

Eric, DG. This is for only the two of you:

If a conversation that started about janet jackson's booby turns into a debate about war and conservatism/liberalism... I'm leaving and never coming back.  Can't we just talk about boobies for once?

Well you always have a writing staff and a cast.  They are separate entities.

But of course there is always flow between the two.  Bob Odenkirk and Conan O'Brien were two of the greatest writers for SNL which Lorne Michaels rarely ever allowed any stage time.  Whereas Al Franken was a writer and he did his own segments such as Stuart Smalls.

Cast members are naturally allowed to pitch their own ideas, but there is a body of writers who are generally more responsible for the material.  However in the case of SNL, what in the hell do the writers have to work with?  Horatio Sans and Jimmy Fallon?  The cast blows, writing blows,  therefore I think Lorn just doesn't give a poop anymore.

Either that or comedy has died.

Read my Blog

I went to a master film class today where my friend Carolyn told stories about how Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif were arrested before their premiere of Lawrence of Arabia with comedian Lenny Bruce.  Apparently one of them answered the door while a syringe was hanging out of his arm.  At the door was the police.  Then I headed to my film club and played an episode of Mr Show (The Return of the Curse of the Creature's Ghost) before the meeting.  Next week the club is splitting up and we'll all be filming with in camera editing.  Should be fun.  After the meeting I went to a music show that was pretty freaking awesome- but was awkward because I was two feet away from the lead singer.  I didn't know if it was polite to stare at him, or look to the side, or close my eyes or what.  Man... awkward..

and I don't have a blog, sorry for making you wave your little cursor over that  text.  You were so going to click, weren't you?

I disagree.   I think the person who arranges the comic can allow a certain degree of flexibility in arranging the images..

I don't mean to brag but look at my Grim Fandango one. It followed several characters- had plenty ambiguity involving the barrel and the relationships between the characters- so that every entry submitted had a different storyline.   Understand?

Spacey does Jack Lemmon as Obi Wan Kenobi as well.

And Norm MacDonald does Burt Reynolds as Darth Vader, I believe.

Hey, the alien idea is good.  But how about this?

News Reporter:  The two bodies have been recovered from an incident yesterday that occured at an amusement park.  The prime suspect and employee of the park, Dan, is still at large.

A small plane lands on a landing strip on an arctic tundra.

Dan: Get out! Get out or I'll Shoot you!

Pilot: Oh please no, it's so cold!

the pilot is thrown out of the plane. he stands for a minute shivering
as Dan steps out of the plane behind him.  He's holding a big gun.

Dan:  Alright, now where are we?

Pilot:   Where you asked! Please, I'm freezing!

Dan:  Where!?

Pilot:  The... the... brrrr.. the North Pole!  (collapses and turns blue,)

Dan:  Great!  Hmm, I guess this suit isn't useless afterall.

Suddenly a small figure appears running toward Dan.

Elf:  Help! Heeeeeeelp!

We learn that Santa Clause is a cruel slave driver forcing all his elves to work in a sweatshop not far from the landing strip.   Dan set outs to set Santa straight and save all the oppressed elves.

[I'm actually pretty excited to see your take on Santa's Workshop, I think your style would be quite fitting.]

"Bob Odenkirk wrote for Saturday Night Live for four years starting in 1987, when Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey were with the cast."

I want to point out that the Golden Times of SNL were when Bob was a writer.  He won an Emmy for it actually.  What does Bob think of MadTV?

"Odenkirk does have an opinion on Mad TV, which uses the famed comedy magazine as its format:   'I thought it was pretty lame.'"
