"Docta Jones! Docta Jones!"

"Snakes, I hate snakes..."

"Docta Jones look out! They are repackaging your story for a video game except you have a british accent and big boobs!"

I have a Time Warner "Road Runner" connection.  Which basically means cable.  I think Time Warner has a monopoly here because DSL isn't available.  I also use a wireless router with my laptop so that caps off my connection- but it is very decent overall.

"I also like when Jimmy Fallon changes the words to songs. Those are funny too. "

Evil-  it was pretty funny when Adam Sandler did it too.

Plus it seems Chris would dislike the pressure of "owing" anybody*.  However, in a competition environment - Chris using the website would be its own reward to that individual.

*Maybe I'm wrong, but the guy has alot of people asking things from him.

I say.........

If Chris is up for a new look to the site.  Make it a competition.  People could team up, do html, logos and the team could present their proposal. Big C could pick his favorite or let a panel of judges decide.  That'd be all pretty exciting.   However my opinion is that the old site fits AGS more.  It's modest like CJ- it's not trying to be all techno fresh "Look at my fonts and graphics" like every other unimpressive site on the internet.

But to say the old one is more fitting doesn't change the fact that I do like this design. And I see cups.

He's my great great great great etc etc grand something. My middle name is Spottswood.

I was looking for a reference to Spotswood's naval order to find and stop the pirate Blackbeard.  Naval officer Maynard actually followed through with his fleet, held a cannon fight with the Queen Mary's Revenge, and then later swordfighted Blackbeard.  Blackbeard's head traveled back on the naval ship, hanging from the bowsprit.

And I have every right to criticise the Sprite Jams. I started the forum version of them!

That is to say - you ruined sprite jam.

unless you haven't figured it out, Las is a vocabulary elitist. But to his credit, he makes very good detailed points which only 33% of the population will be able to interpret. go las.

Interesting, yes but is there a new argument? We talked about this extensively already, however, perhaps some people are fueled up to discuss it again.

"Citizen of the United States of America" is just tiring.

Although I guess I could call myself a United Statesman.

Something tells me this will be one of those threads that gets so long and detailed that the same things will be repeated over and over.  And eventually we will all have to agree:

We may never truely know the secret of monkey island

Honestly, none of those titles are quite as good as "Microleague Wrestling".

It will feature Mr P. who takes his team of mercenaries to visit Mr Rogersons and force him to pay for protection.  Mr Rogersons tries to shoot them all down, then quickly changes shoes before diving into an imaginary universe where a trolly is the only form of transportation and the king is KING FLAMING GAY.  Michael Keaton will make a cameo, not as Batman- but as a behind the scene employee of Mr Rogerson who gives him the finger amidst the gunfight and walk off set to find a job on a sitcom or soap opera.  He then falls in love with Lou Diamond Philips and they make babies...              into pies. Apple.

Obligatory statement:

"DG, yeah we do have lives so why is it you get LL WORKED UP ABOUT IT, HUH? IF YOU HAVE LIVE, WHY READ THIS AND BE MAD MAD MAD WHEN YOU CAN JUST TAKE BREATHE, CLOSE BROWSER, ROLL BACK IN CHAIR, STAND UP, GO OUTSIDE, AND DRINK COFFEE NAKED? HUH? Its alright for you to get worked up about online matters because you can discern important issues, whereas everything I address is DUMB? Well that's dumb- you big DUMBY."

But imagine someone else saying it. Like Winnie the Poo, wearing a thong and bathing in honey with a playmate on either side (for maximum effect.)

Gilbert.    Bio Hazard = Resident Evil

So to summarize this thread:

Fear can be:

Atmosphere-   Music &  images
Backstory-    Characters and events revealed (or not) to the player
Anticipation- Knowing there is something, but not what or when it will appear.
Startlement- Immediate release of built anticipation
Belief/Empathy- Connection between the player and the character
