I get Tremors confused with Critters.  And I get Critters confused with Gremlins. And I get Gremlins confused with Trolls. And I get Trolls confused with Furbies:

hehe, thats really clever.

Hey Farlander, why not use 13th century English music if the bands you suggest are simply inspired by 13th century English music?

It's not like the music Ghormak linked to was actually recorded six centuries ago.   :)

Legality? But this is for educational purposes!

No, the contest needs to move on. While Bryce's picture looks sweet and smooth and all that, I vote for Alexis for all the quirky scientist things. It's a simple background but innovative.. only the beakers and the labcoat in Bryces' drawing relates to a scientist.

I suspect Oranges is american.

If so, he's a little more secretive about it than some of us around here

Except maybe Dan Akroyd's character Capt. Tom Everett in the sequel!

Call me retarded, but I never realized Bill Murray had so many brothers, and that they all acted:
Brothers Murray
John, Joel, Brian-Doyle, and Bill

And John was the main character in Moving Violations! And really hasn't acted since..

Norman Stansfield Gary Oldman's character in Leon the professional

Don Logan, Mr. Behrani, Mohandas Ghandi Ben Kingsley in each of these movies: Sexy Beast, Ghandi, House of Sand and Fog

Wilson Terrence Stamp's character in The Limey

Natty Bumpo Daniel Day Louis' portrayal in Last of Mohicans

Dennis Hopper was good in True Romance. I hear he's good in Blue Velvet too.

DG- Chopper rocked.

you mean Buddy, portrayed by Jeffrey Falcon?

Good character, but the acting is hindered by the fact that the dialog is horribly dubbed.

How about:

Lardass Hogan winner of the pie eating contest
and his fine young friends

See lardass in action here

Saying there should be no qaulms between Russia and US based on their viking heritage would be like Space Aliens killing all US citizens, colonizing the states, and then coming after Russia.

Then you can try to convince the Space Aliens there's nothing to fight about.
"But we're both Viking colonies!"    ;)

"Vikings discovered America so it is a viking colony"

You might want to check your records and make sure that no power changed hands since then.  I'm not sure but I believe there is some story about the british, the french, and another about revolutionaries. I think the accepted priniciple is "for a ___ colony to exist,  ____ people must actually inhabit it".

Ahem, as the winner of Everyone's Favorite Newbie 2001, I feel inclined to give my opinion on the matter.  Actually was it '01 or '02?

Here's my advice for those new to AGS:
1.  Find a couple of respected people to get in good with (ie: Helm, Colossal) You can pretty much tie your name to these people through the AGS whiteboard, if you want.  I insist, do NOT go to IRC to make friends. Those people are all either bots or AGS mongering whores!
2.  Post on the forums as if you're opinions matter, whether or not they actually do.  Pretend as if every forum poster should already know who you are (as if you've posted here or on another forum for ages), while still being considerate.
3. Let atleast two people play a demo of your game, as your witnesses, and then never work on the game ever again! The suspense will give you an edge!

Congrats, now you're an established member of AGS forums!

Shiner Bock
Dos Equis
Fat Tire
Heineken

I haven't enjoyed many american beers, myself. Miller Lite and Bud Lite (which seems to be what everyone drinks) have no character at all, pretty bland.

Leif Ericson is a reference to vikings, but he didn't discover anything either.

We're talking about asians who crossed the landbridge over to Alaska.   The first settlers didn't sail, they walked. That makes them smarter and much more efficient.  However, they were too laid back to have a party and start sticking flags into things, so no dice for them.  Except for the dice in their descendants' casinos! Hey Oh!
