It looks like sand but maybe on an alien world.   I rather like it.

Most of us aren't musically skilled enough to give very insightful criticism.    Personally I can tell you my favorites and what I feel about them.

"Lonely music box in the orchestra"

"unforgiving world called the reality"

These felt like your most confident songs.   Many of the others I listened to sounded very unsure, very uncertain.   Or they just weren't to my liking.  *not a big new age fan*

I don't really enjoy the songs of the dolphins and whales, if you catch my drift.

Here's the 2nd thing:   You posted about 20 songs.    Nobody could ever give you constructive criticism of 20 songs in a thread like this.   That tells me you aren't so much looking for criticism but looking for praise.    That's fine.   But you asked for a reason why people aren't chiming in.   I think it might be that they sense you don't actually want criticism, you want to hear good things.

I like those 2 songs!  Maybe make another thread with one song and specific instructions about what you need help with.

That's adorable!   And I agree.

That will probably be the next service google provides:

Introducing Google Gatekeeper!

Sick of supplying everyone the forum your google phone number?  Now Google will provide you with an artificially intelligent buddy to distribute your number to folks he deems appropriate for you!

If the database COULD be linked to a twitter account, that'd be sweet.    Thirded or fourthed or whatever.

Try out both versions (with each font).

"chinese rocks" on blue:

I like the one Terran picked out too.  I think it lends itself to the Vertigo theme, if you're still shooting for that.

You could even experiment with the sizes of individual letters.

"Colonna MT" as a concept:

From a design standpoint, it should be clear why I chose a font with an inner channel / groove.  It creates a flowing, snakelike pattern in the text without being too literal.   Meanwhile the grandiose tone of Avalon remains intact with the shape of the font and the enlarging of the first letters.

Still I don't know the tone of your game.

The reason why the blocky font works for Vertigo is because the filmmakers wanted to invoke a feeling of terror & uncertainty.    If your game seeks to invoke the same emotion, there might be a decent font out there.  But its a bigger challenge because a font doesn't automatically invoke the feeling.   The short, uncertain word "Vertigo" was paired perfectly with that font.

After reading your posts, I've realized that I've got a theory on my own about fight club. So I quickly went and viewed the movie 3 times, and I'm sure that my theory is flawless.

Absolutely brilliant!   You are right on the money sir!

Just don't use Arty fonts.    Not ones that steal attention away from the actual content.

You can take an everyday "boring" font and use design elements to make it really pop and complement your logo.

----end tongue in cheek----

I suppose there will be a few discrepancies.  Let me back to you after the 5th viewing with a thorough analysis!    jk!!

You did watch the youtubes?

-edit-
Seriously though, while referring to my theory please use the full name "Usual Breakfast Club Suspects" theory.  Or people might get confused.   By the way I am completely hammered.

------begin tongue in cheek------ do not read if you missed Usual Suspects.-------

Cracked published this article which proposes alternate realities for many beloved films.  One of the most interesting proposals is this one:

Quote
# 4.   Ferris Bueller's Day Off Was All in Cameron's Head

Cameron creates Ferris in his mind. Ferris is the total opposite of Cameron: he's fun, spontaneous and has a loving family and foxy girlfriend. At the beginning of the film, the imaginary Ferris convinces a bed-ridden Cameron to "borrow" his dad's Ferrari 250 GT California and cruise all over Chicago. Given Cameron's crushing social incompetence, it's likely that Sloane is fictional too and represents a girl that he has a crush on.

Let's face reality.  John Hughes is not known for having psychological twists in his movies.   Obviously any evidence you can muster to prove the point "Ferris exists in Cameron's head" was not what the author intended.

Now that I've made my case I'd like to introduce a radical new theory.  I came up with this theory an hour ago and it is mindblowing.  I've already rewatched this movie 4 times since then and its exploded my brain each time with deeper levels of meaning.

The film the Breakfast Club is about a group of 5 misfits (a brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse) who are detained together but only one is left to tell his captor the story.   The theory is this:   Anthony Michael Hall's character is the mastermind.  This mastermind is perceived by his captor as a weakling but in fact he IS the Breakfast Club.  The ENTIRE Breakfast Club.   At the end of the movie his captor reads a note written by him where he admits HE IS THE BREAKFAST CLUB!!  HE WAS ALL OF THEM the whole time!

Tagline for Usual Suspects: "Five Criminals . One Line Up . No Coincidence"

Tagline for Breakfast Club: "Five strangers with nothing in common, except each other."

Remember the ending for Usual Suspects?  Mere coincidence?  Obviously there was only ONE person in detention the entire movie!    And I'm not even sure what movie I'm talking about any more!

If anyone would want to do it, perhaps it's mods.    But what would he tell followers that needs twittering on a daily, or even weekly basis?

I could see individual AGSers tweeting about game launches and game development.   But AGS overall is better served by the forum, no?

Radiant:  My roommate was involved in an online voting scandal recently.   He entered a contest where Oprah would give him his own show and 4chan generated millions of fake votes for him.  But Oprah deleted alot of his actual votes too.     Just google "zach anner".  It got crazy amounts of press.

All I can tell you is this:

I once coded a mod for GTA San Andreas.  I coded jobs, factions, a simulated economy.   Then one day I said "I'm going to make a little Texas Holdem' script so people can play cards."

And I quickly realized it was one of the most complex scripts to write.   Little minigames are NOT so mini afterall.

Currently is this an issue?   Are games getting high scores unwarranted?  So far the high score games I've downloaded have been pretty decent quality.

With the obvious exception of Pirates of the Caribbean.... no?

In fact iirc Pirates of the Caribbean was based on the Disney Land ride by the same name. Monkey Island stole a fair few ideas from that ride i believe.

You recall correctly.  I was referring to Jack Sparrow escaping in a rowboat coffin ala Monkey Island 2.    There was no ghost pirate in the ride either.   And there are many other *odd* coincidences, but there are entire internet discussions about that elsewhere.

Regarding Chuck:  I tried to watch that awful show once.  Don't make me sad by telling me it relates to adventure games.
