I'll make this post for a little "lack of paragraph relief" on the eyes.

Well GTA4 aside,  I was mostly interested in talking about ethnic stereotypes in movies.    Marlon Brando was a big proponent of Native Americans & defending those peoples from the Hollywood indian.

If I make a new topic on stereotypes it might get stale quick though, seeing as not many people jumped in on this one.

They held an Adventure Con in Knoxville Tennessee last year.    I met General Grievous there.

I don't know guys I'm pretty embarrassed to be at one of these.  All the middle-aged guys in Star Wars costumes makes me break out into laughter beyond my comfort level in public.  They had light sabre twirling competitions and 25 dollar autographs.   Nothing that caught my eye.

Thought "In Bruges" was pretty good.   It was nice to see Colin Ferell ( who I typically hate) in a role I enjoyed.     I could name some really great performances.  Take Gary Oldman and Ed Harris in "State of Grace."   Thought they did a phenomenal job as Irish american mobsters.

But to your point I think its a matter of perspective.  Sure. GTA4 got some good voice acting for eastern europeans.   But this is not always so.  Almost every ethnicity has played victim to this annoyance.   The stereotypical Russian or Italian or Mexian or Indian guy in movies is so overdone (and it stings when its an out of place actor).    With all these horrible portrayals I couldn't single out the Irish... but I'm sure you could since movies like Boon Dock Saints probably take the piss when you watch them.

But if I were to place my finger on it,   I would blame all the American actors of Irish descent who get jobs because they have red hair.   Specifically...  blame douche bags like Michael Rapaport.    These shitty actors practice their Irish accents for two weeks and put "authentic Irish accent" on their resumes.

As an actor myself I'd peg the "irish accent" as the actor's laziest best friend.   No effort, no research.   Just "gimme me lucky charms!" and you're in.   So yeah I'd say most hack actors in Hollywood are to blame, not Hollywood itself.

Transformers too.

Seems like attention to detail has been left in the mud for "if we make it go fast, they won't notice it looks crap"

Well great.  Not only does it look crap, its also blurry and makes my eyes hurt.

And I have to wonder why the haters chose this video as their battleground...

I've been told we were targeted by a group on Facebook.    I've been searching for it to no avail:  "Asian Guys Who Aren't Helping Their Chances With Women By Attempting to Limit Asian Women To Date Only Themselves."

One day when women of a specific race ONLY date asian guys I'm totally calling bullshit.   These guys have alot of internet balls.

Letting the comments stand is actually empowering.   There are certain things I might "prune" but the envious asian guys obviously need somewhere to vent.     It was an issue I was never aware of, this "yellow fever" thing.

It's amazing how adamant some of the posts have been toward asian females.  Telling them never to date a white guy.  Unbelievable.

That theory holds true most cases.

I got a friendly reception on one of my youtube videos:

So Free Tibet isn't a relief effort?   "Relief effort vs. Relief effort" seems relevant to me.

Look.

When you said "we can only help people recover from it" [regarding earthquakes] did you realize that there are thousands of families still homeless from the Pakistani earthquake in 2005?  As of last March, Red Cross was still providing shelters and food to these people in order so that they may survive the winter.

Pakistani Earthquake Survivors

You speak as if these relief efforts are well represented.   They're not, especially in the media.   An earthquake gets a couple of days in the headlines.   The torch has gotten weeks and weeks.    Free Tibet is a great message that deserves to be heard.    But apparently the group mindset that drives indifferent people outside and to these rallies will never work for disaster relief.

"Come on Joe!  People are dying over there!  Let's pack up our things and help!"

"What's that?   Oh... isn't that what Red Cross is for?"

It's not the cause that drives some people.  It's the simple act of rebellion that people crave.   Dissent.   And that force will never motivate actual relief efforts.

I am referring to relief efforts.   Not preventing earthquakes.

I suppose lashing out against joggers does get press.   But it sends very mixed messages.

I'm the only one who mentioned a step dad..   Uh.   Read more carefully.

Protesting the government of China?    Or lashing out violently against an innocent jogger?

Sometimes humanity is sacrificed in the name of peace.

How do you turn and walk away from someone when you realize that they're no good for you? How do you go about putting them behind you, and make yourself never look back, or concern yourself with their affairs ever again?

My mom divorced my step dad and I've never seen him since.   Sometimes I wonder what he's up to but a part of me says "screw him.  he was an asshole."

Most of the time I have trouble NOT empathizing with people.   But since I moved around a lot as a kid unfortunately I got used to saying goodbye to people.... to the point where I never truly mastered the art of saying hello.

Pool or no pool the place looks badass.   Try and swim in the river.  Anybody else curious about the mysterious phenomenon known as the party barn??? Do I smell the next installment "Ben Jordan and the Masque of the Party Barn"?! ?! ?

The grounds look pretty funtastic too.  I wish I could be the loud obnoxious American tourist in France.

I'm getting better google hits with the phrase "Domaine Du Risdoux Le Risdoux Iv".    No ghost stories yet :(

Wow.   I did research on airfare.   I found flights to Brussels BRU for $1300 bucks.  And flights to Paris CDG for $1200.

I also found the place to buy a train ticket:   http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fares_schedules/index.htm

"Paris" to "Vireux Molhain"   I experimented with dates in June but the average roundtrip price SHOULD be $82 USD (or $148 Freedom class)

God I'd hate to be the one asshat who always talks about coming to Mittens but never gets it together....
