I'm not completley shure if its possible to jump off a roof and survive

You can jump off a roof and survive but you must meet certain conditions.  The urban jumpers can jump down from amazing heights but they position their bodies as shock absorbers.   So from a scientific point of view, our control model would have to take these "survivors" into account.   It wouldn't be a proper control to simply drop an egg or a dummy off the same roof.  If you hit the ground "legs-first" you will absorb shock even if its your knees shattering.

David Blain and Chris Angel make no claim to be supernatural, so far as I've noticed.  If David Blaine said "I'm the second coming of Christ"  i think Randi would take notice.

Randi doesn't have issues with illusionists being illusionists. That's how he became famous.

I love threads like these which get into arguments of the scientific method and the existence of the paranormal..  and all  the while the title of the thread includes the verbage usage "to mank."

James Randi's project alpha should be recreated for today's audiences.

You guys introduced me to James Randi and Im so thankful.  Ive watched every clip on youtube where he challenges bogus paranormal activity.

His reasons are so good.   He doesn't want there NOT to be paranormal activity.  He genuinely wants to see it, but so far in the last half century no paranormal activity has been proven as actual phenomena.

Penn and Teller and James Randi are my kind of guys.   I too feel that the masses are becoming delusional when brought up with the belief of psychics, ghosts, and old wives tales.  Illusion should be advertised as illusion.

James Randi exposed Uri Geller, Peter Popoff, & other frauds.   http://youtube.com/results?search_query=james+randi&search=Search

MrColossal, that's jumping to conclusions.   People have analyzed that fight & did you notice the "hand shake" before the match?    the guy obviously tainted his psi ball energy!

In reality I bet the old guy offered 10K to retain the illusion.   Bogus storytellers trying to make people believe in magic.

What Ive been reading in my Psi Monthly is that you start small.

not small things, per se, but try to move things with body parts smaller than your mind.  First start with the finger then move up to the hand.   Eventually you'll be able to move objects with your feet!

I'm one of those assholes who suspects the author of the plays and the man from Stratford aren't the same guy.  :(    Probably multiple folks credited as one guy.   But we'll never know.   Most of the "facts" historians cite are snippets they infer from the plays.  That the stratford man MUST have stayed in Italy based on his knowledge of Italian culture etc.   But there are no documents or otherwise beyond a will and some deeds.   And the guy who filled them out appears to be rather dull... and illiterate.

I have a book sitting next to me called "Players: The Mysterious Identity of William Shakespeare"  If not the book itself, I suggest the argument.   Its a fascinating topic.   Atheists could get into it for sure.

There's a little culture shock for you   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakespearean_authorship_question

"So what's Vista have?  What kind of new features?"

"Well..   when you open a new box its kinda transparent!"

There will many many many patches for Vista.    I hate the number of windows hotfixes in my programs list.   Im not even sure what Vista has to offer beyond aesthetics.

Winning perfomance by Marija Serifovic:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oQ_YNK5-5Q

I'd say she's a pretty badass songwriter.

English translation:

I'm wide awake
An empty bed drives my dreams away
Life melts like ice
Disappears in the twinkling of an eye

I'm losing my mind,
Pushing reality out of sight
Our lips are touching softly
You're the one I believe blindly

I walk around like crazy
Falling in love frightens me
Days are like wounds
Countless and hard to get through

Prayer...
It burns my sore lips like a fire
Prayer...
Thy name is something I admire
Heaven knows just as well as I do
So many times I have cried over you
Heaven knows just as well as I do
I pray and live only for you

I can't lie to God
as I kneel down and pray
You're the love of my life
That's the only thing I can say

I hate to be stubborn about Spiderman 3...  but according to the movie that's all there is to people.  To be stubborn.

You thought Venom was done well?

Spoiler
Eddie Brock is exposed for photoshopping so he prays at a church for God to kill Parker.   Coincidentally, Parker is several floors above him dripping a substance from a meteorite which had crawled onto his moped during a picnic.

That entire storyline is paper thin.
Spoiler
Brock doesn't care about Gwen when she's dangling from a building but his life is ruined when Parker goes on a date with her?

I think XMen and Batman storylines have been so much better.   The villains have rational motives.  Take Magneto from XMen, Penguin from Batman Returns, and Stryker from X2:

Magneto thinks he's protecting his fellow mutants.
Penguin has been living an inferior life to the people above him whose garbage he wades through.
Stryker thinks all mutants are a threat to mankind and that wiping them out will save lives.

These motives are believable.   You can understand the conflict because ultimately were not sure if Professor X is right and Magneto is wrong.   Penguin HAS been treated like filth and deserves revenge.  Stryker IS threatened by mutants and would be better off without Magneto and others who ultimately kill him.

Spiderman 3 villains however...
Spoiler
The villains in Spiderman are mostly people who REFUSE to listen.  Harry Osborn never listens.   He's told the truth again and again so what makes him so bad is denial.  That's the source of his villainy.   Likewise Venom blames Spiderman for his problems, as does Doc Oc.    The sandman is a little different because the tables are turned.  Parker REFUSES to see the truth about his uncle.   Every conflict in spiderman stems from people being stubborn, and its difficult to watch.     Its difficult to watch Mary Jane and Peter break up because they could patch it up but Mary Jane decides to be stubborn.   Constant stubborness is annoying hence Spiderman 3 is annoying.

Ricky Gervais is also a huge fan of Larry David.

Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm are definitely influences for "Extras"

Batman Begins and X Men 2 were excellent superhero sequels.    Great theater experiences.

I don't think sequels are doomed naturally, but I think they didn't try very hard while writing Spiderman 3.   Too little character development for two of the villains, and waaaay too much with the third.  Kirsten Dunst is annoying and my main reason for being indifferent towards the series.   She was despicable in Spider Man 3.    Moments where she was leaving Peter Parker I almost cheered because I was sick of her face.

My favorite scene by far involves a Jazz club and an emo haircut.

The rest of the movie looked like silly putty.

They're all really good so debating which one is best is something I choose not to do.

I own Meaning of Life because it was the one that eluded me the most.    Life of Brian and Holy Grail always have there own midnight screening somewhere.   (so annoying!  I hope no one here is one of those screaming idiots who ruins the performances by reciting the dialogue line by line in the theater )

Meaning of Life is wonderful.  I'd say it has the best scenes but I usually can't take it in one sitting.   John Cleese has talked about how sketch comedy is best kept at thirty minutes or maybe an hour.   Two hours is pushing it.    So that's my only grip but having the DVD at my disposal I can go to any chapter and have a laugh.
