don't be mad! :)

Spoiler
You should be able to give the log to the termites. But have you picked the termites up? Because you can't give anything to the termites on the tree. Which is kind of silly, when I come to think of it!

But pick them up and then use the log on the termites, and so on.

What program are you using fovmester?

I'm using photoshop.

Dead twigs and mushrooms? Maybe. It may become as En Garde! says; too overloaded. But I'll try it out.

I agree that you shouldn't change the posture. That is how I naturally stand, so unless I'm some sort of freak... :(

But the legs could be relaxed a little... I admit mine aren't always THAT straight.

Ok, maybe you're right. I'll try just to bend the legs a bit.

Here's my last try. I added flowers and leaves, and upped the contrast.

I'm quite satisfied now!

Your character's posture is still, in my opinion, a little bit too straight. Unless he has a reason to be paying attention, a regular standing posture should be more relaxed. Here, let me make a quick photoshop to show you more or less what you should do...

I agree! I'll apply the changes!

I've always liked your backgrounds and "Frank the Farmhand" both parts, and this background is awesome. You or somebody could draw some flowers or berries too.

Thanks!  Flowers and berries are a great idea!

Thanks a lot!

I tried to make the colors a bit more interesting (as interesting as grey can get!) and darkened the shadows.

Here's the result:

What do you usually give to a dog in games?

Give the dinosaur bone to the dog. You couldn't take it before, but now Ben can distract Archie while you snatch the bone.

Updated the pics:

1x 2x

Side view:

1x 2x

* added white area in face
* moved the arm in the sideview so it's not connected to the jaw!
* changed stance a little in the side view. (not really satisfied though)

I'm satisfied with how the front view looks, but not the side view. It's something about the stance and the back of his head, I think.

Anyone's got an idea?

And you're right, En garde about the shoulder. It should be lowered in the side view.

Quotethe grass lawn is a bit too green; grass seldom glow like that.

I actually wanted the grass to be too green, giving it a more magic feeling. It's supposed to be a magical place. :)

QuoteFir trees don't like that. You have painted them far too dense and thick, and also a bit too regular.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that? Is it the texture of the trees?

En garde!:
QuoteSomething most people don't notice is that the trunks of trees are actually grey, not brown. (No, it's true. Google for pics of trees and be astonished)
I actually noticed that myself when I went out to look at some trees today. I wonder why I never saw it before.

On the other hand, some signs of life would be good. It is a little bit too ordered and clean. How about a bird on a branch, smoke on the chimney, a tree slump with an axe stuck on it (you know, that wood doesn't cut itself), a clothesline... details like that.

Since it's a background I'll put animated stuff like birds and smoke on top of it later on. But that axe was a good idea!

which resolution are you running the game in? Because you really should run it in 640x480 or I'm sure you won't be able to click it.

But if you are running in high-res (640x480) try to move the mouse horizontally over the rope very slow, and you should see that "Walk to rope" appears in the status field.

Note: I've noticed that many people have had problems with this hotspot, so I'll make it bigger in the updated version.

It's just a small hotspot. Try to click on the rope again.

What can I do to improve this background?

I thought about adding more light-reflections on things, like the purple color I've drawn on the two closest trees. But I'm not sure what extacltly I should add!

Hi. I've made a new character that I'd like some C&C on.

Oh, so this was just a joke? Man! Don't scare me like that! I've been crying for three days!! (not really)

I'm glad it was just a joke, though. Phew!
