Hi all....

I have a compromise....

I want to reuse this interface for a future project....but i will publish my open source for APOC VEL....novembers mags entry.....hopefully any one who wants can learn some stuff from that.....

I`ll do that soon when i get a spare moment.

I have decided to release what i had finished ...which was one fully playable level.
.....it would have probaly been shelved.

Collect five star to move on to the next section...includes 3 sections.

(loosely based around 2ma`s engine)..

This game was a way of taking a break from doing MIA....

I`m interested to see what the guys at MAGS are going to do......

Would it be the first time that no game has been entered....???

I don`t intend to upload the source sorry.....
We did`nt realize this was part of the rules until last nite.

I don`t mind giving a global script like minimi has done ...but i intend to re use the interface and scripting that has been put into our game.

A lot of hard work went into making that code and i`d prefer not to serve it up on a plater for all to use.....

I learnt from using the manual and looking on the forums....and from time to time i`m more than prepared to give my help if i can to anyone with a scripting problem.

If we are disqualified so be it.

Its not the winning that counts its the taking part.....hold on, i don`t think we are even able to take part.....which means no entries this month...unless minimi changes his mind.

Thanks for you positive comments....

Sorry that we forgot to add a read me....(with ref. not knowing controls)..

left click walks around ....right click on a hotspot brings up verb coin ...release button on the option you want...

In the top corner is a wallet ...hover mouse over to bring down inventory screen..

left click select item so you can use it.....right click looks at item.

F5 and F7 bring up save/load screen..

Ctrl Q brings up quit screen...

We made this for MAGS in around fifthteen days....from scratch.

We kept things fairly simple due to the time limit....

Future projects will be of better quality and more challenging....as we would`nt be held into a short devolopment time.

Glad you enjoyed it even though it was a bit easy.

There is another way round that problem but that was the easiest way..

Its to do with screen co-rds.....regions and hotspots are detected differently ...


I did it like that ..

You can use an offset but its alot of fiddling around.

Sharing my code......???

You would have trouble understanding it as its very jumbled .....i made it and have trouble knowing how it works.

looks like my recent steps in to making a scrolling platform game have inspired a few to do the same...

i fixed this by using regions....

The other thing is to use charcter[ego].x.....and if the star is more than a certain amount more than the ego ...you remove it from screen......using charater[star].room=-1;

if i get time i`ll paste some examples of my games script....

Finished this great game......

Shame about all the bugs.....lots of crashes due to unexpected actions...

such as when grandma`s chopping if you pick up chopping board game crashes..

Apart from this and abrupt ending ...this has to be the best game we`ve seen here...

Attention to the small details is excellent......

It`ll be hard to beat....

How long did it take to make?

..I am not clever enough to write a PLUG in.....

But if someone who is clever enough needs a challenge please feel free....

I would use it in every game i make.....

As it would have loads of uses..

What i`m after is`nt possible with AGS at moment i think........but will continue to try a work round the problem.

TK:some nice ideas but not a fix to what i want...I want to just zoom a small section with the rest staying as normal........as mouse is moved the new section will be zoomed and old area back to normal.

doe`s anyone know if its possible to zoom a small section of screen....

for example to do a sniper scope...

as mouse cursor moves i would like to update the zoom as it moves.......

If there are any options for zooming let me know as i might be able to work something out...

If not ...Chris when will we have zooming screens.....

very impressive artwork.....

The only problem that you will have is meeting everyones expectations..

As the comparision will be with past MI games..

Good luck ....this is yet another game that interests me and will be added to a can`t wait list...

PLEASE FINISH THIS......even if its a short game.
