The proportions of the car indeed look better on the first one, on the second pic it looks awfully stretched. In addition to the dirtiness the biggest problem is that the car's perspective is wrong. It looks as it is being viewed from a different angle.

Made a very quick edit to show what the car's perspective should be like. (I know it's not perfectly right but it should give a clue)

Thanks for the helpful replies!
Well, I'd better do some mixing and shorten the bassline in the beginning.
Also, I agree with you Nik, the four chords during the whole sound may get a bit boring. I'll try to come up with something.
Thanks again. :)

Here's an mp3 track I just made. Um, possibly for a game I might start to work on in the future... But that's just an idea.

Anyways, I would like to hear your comments and ways to improve it. :)

That's just beautiful! The only thing that looks a bit odd to me is his thumb.
#228
Just wanted to say - great entries everyone! Keep 'em coming!
#229
Looks really great! :)
Can't wait to see this one finished.
#230
So, basically, all you have to do is to draw a sprite of a hippie. A guy or girl - anything!
Your sprite may include for example: long hair, flowers, etc., whatever that comes in your mind. Just be creative!

Rules:
Max size: 150x150
Max colors: 24

Wow, thanks! New Jam coming up soon.

Well, first of all, I apologize, 'cause I wasn't able to be around for a while.
Anyway, let's count the votes and end this blitz.

Very nice entries, everyone. :)
Here comes the lineup:

The third and the second place are taken by nihilyst & Sektor 13, both with 5 votes.
The first place goes to ildu with 13 votes!

Back to you, ildu. :)

Actually it's the stupidest place where a car can brake down... whatever.

Okay, gotta post myself too.

It's not a very new pic, guess it's made back in June... somewhere in the southern Estonia.
Anyway, it's me.

Home Sweet Home
Your job is to create a background of the main character's home. No matter what kind of district he/she lives, no matter what kind of person he/she is. Make him/her a place to live!

Both indoor and outdoor views are welcome. But remember, it has to follow the topic. Also, it has to be usable in a game as a background.

And also, I'd like to see some originality! :)

There are no restrictions in size or color.

The voting, as usually, will be given in four categories:
Best Idea
Best Design
Best Functionality
Best Technique

Voting will begin on the 25th and end on the 26th

Let's get it on!

Thanks to everyone who voted :)! And also thanks to ildu, who made this fun topic.
It was a great BG Blitz indeed, including many beautiful entries.

I'll start a new one as soon as possible.
#238
Wow, I'm the first one here to post a BG.

A quick simple entry here:

. . . because i don't find the copy and paste button in Artgem . . .

Copy - "To Clipboard", Paste - "From Clipboard"

And also... the car and streetlight are a bit familiar too, so you've actually used two BGs. But it doesn't matter either.

Anyways, ways to improve it:
Try to use more natural and realistic colors. Maybe lower the saturation, not only the hotel, also the fence and the car.
The black colored windows make it look like the hotel is abandoned. ...or it's night time. But it's not, so I'd advise you to make the windows low-saturated light blue. Like in InCreator's tutorial. And also - the windows on the doors should be painted the same color as the other windows.
And the rear-window of the car... is it supposed to be a reflection from across the street?

And since you're using black outlines on most of the bg you should use them on the rest of the bg. For example on the streetlight and the outter-outlines of the taxi.

Absolutely right, I'll change the title screen, that's for sure. I know it sucks.Ã,  ;D
