Is that possibly a leper? The Gospel of Matthew?

Replayed and got ending number 3. Very cool that
Spoiler
suddenly Coney was in the rooms from your first game! But am I right in thinking that Coney was the last piece missing, and that this ending wouldn't have happened without him? Or is this inevitable (in this universe)?
[close]

Edit: And got ending number 4, which I think perhaps answered what I asked in the spoiler above. But does that mean that
Spoiler
ending 1 will be followed by ending 4, eventually?
[close]

Edit again: Ending 2 still eludes me, but I bet it has to do with
Spoiler
what I choose to say to the robot in the dream. But so far only one choice makes a difference. Hmmm.

I also think I've figured out how the endings are connected. My theory is that
Spoiler
art saves the world. The painting needs to be done and perhaps redone again and again in order to keep the realities separate. That means that Coney saves his world in ending 1, without knowing it. So perhaps it's music's turn in the last ending?

I played this and got ending number 1. Will definitely go for the other endings. As thugs go, these were quite endearing.  (laugh) I especially liked mixing drinks and coming up with combinations.

Even though I like the game mechanics and have no problems playing it, I think i would have preferred visible hotspots to see what is clickable. I wasn't 100% sure that only what I could look at was interactive, and ended up walking up to objects a lot when I tried to interact with them. (That's the Sierra vs Lucasarts debate again, yeah.)

Edit: I noticed later that the cursor "pulses" when over interaction points.

You could also try running the setup to try windowed/full screen mode, or perhaps change the graphics driver.

soooooo cool!!!
Just 2 questions:
- is there any way to skip the initial intro (from the fake code protection with no checking to the proper game start) and immediately load a saved game?

Have you tried pressing F7? I'm not 100% certain, but I think you can do that to skip to your saved game.

Quote- I just played the first few minutes and I enjoyed a lot the new additions (the vulture in the Scumm bar, etc) I noticed the dialogues are without choices, and characters keep talking without user interaction; I'm just curious to know if all dialogues are that direct or there will be user choices somewhere.

Almost all dialogues are like that. I can remember two with player choices in this game, at least there aren't many.

This jam is over. I haven't played anything near all the games (yet...), but I'm happy to say that this time around, I at least had picked and played the winners.

And the winner is written in AGS! The winner was The Unlikely Prometheus by Green E Games, the ones behind the brilliant A Curious Pasttime.

Second place went to  Mutiny on the Clodia by Gugames. He's made great games in AGS before, and even though this one is a Unity game, it still has that AGS feeling.

Both games are brilliant and well worth a go.  (nod)

I am on a new computer trying to update it to Windows 10 and install AGS again etc...

I have an old idea rattling around in my brain since I was 15 years old and running a paper route to try to save up enough for a C64... Once i finally got the C64 I saw that 64k was nowhere near enough to make my game idea possible...

Maybe now a slightly different version of it might be possible:

We Meet At Dawn

I hope you're still in, now that you've got your computer up and running.  (nod) The title is ambigious, but sounds very good. Could have been a Western.  :-D

Even though it's my topic, I'm out this month. I don't have the time, and my basic ideas require a different skill set than mine, as well.

It may be a while, but I think we may revisit the Block some day.

Yes please!  (nod) (nod)

That there were crossed monitors, meanwhile, puzzles me. It is likely a missing line somewhere.

It may perhaps have to do with the order I did things in? I

pushed the green button to open the door next to the square puzzle before I went back and put the fuse in place, if I recall correctly.

Uhm, you forgot the link to the game.  ;)

Edited!  (laugh) (laugh) Of all the things one can forget... Thanks for noticing and telling me.

I'll try to portion this out and only give myself a few tries on a level each day. The game looks, sounds and plays just like a Boulderdash game should, and the levels seem intricately designed, giving me quite a challenge. Very well done and recommended for fans of this type of game or of casual puzzle games - this is just a step up in coordination from Candy Crush or the likes. (And I hope the future me won't post about some impossible last level. (laugh) )

I read/played the interactive story, and it was great! You are really good at delving into different cultures and backgrounds. There are also several nice small touches, like how the protagonist changes nicknames for his ex on this phone. Great writing! Lorenzo's art is brilliant as always, but is restricted to locations this time. The illustrations add to the atmosphere, but takes a lesser part in this story than in Breakfast.

Another great game! Please add it to the database as well, as that will make it easier to find for people only accessing the game page.

Will you reveal to us what the maximum score/number of eggs/total endings are available? Or is it your prescious secret?  :-D ;)
I finished the game with 1400 points and four eggs, but couldn't see a white one among them, like the one Ian describes. It didn't cross my mind that points could be detracted for making mistakes or dying, though, so I wasn't all that careful all the time.

I'm very fond of scenarios that put the player in a lab rat situation like this one does. It worked really well as a frame for the puzzles. And the puzzles themselves were a treat - very entertaining.

I'd like to know if I missed something, though. The game hints at
Spoiler
an alternate ending where an escape through the rubble may be possible.

by pushing four buttons. And the second was in the room with the clippers. I imagine that was me trying to outwit my captors, triggering a bug instead:
Spoiler
I tried to make it away with the clipper by taking it (a new one) for the second time before replacing it in the holder. There never were two clippers in my inventory, but I kept it after returning it to the holder. And the panel still showed an "x".

In sum - great game, highly recommended. Thank you and congratulations on the release. Again, please add it to the database as well.

EDIT: And the advert video is hilarious! Va skojigt!

Thank you. I still got error messages the first two times I tried, but now it seems to work. Somehow it ended up with image 1 in spot 1 and 2, while image 3 shows up correctly. That's good enough for me, but either I've done something wrong, or there is still something not in perfect condition.

I liked the casting. Taking the guy who played Superman in a failed movie and making him basically the same character, but with less powers.
And when they met up with Supergirl, he got to say that she reminded him of his cousin.  (laugh) (laugh)

Halloween with an Unexpected Guest is a MAGS entry for MAGS October 2021, where the theme was: "Halloween with an unexpected guest". Oh well. Should fit the subject, at least.

The game has a silly story based on what toys I could find in my kids' rooms that somewhat touched the Halloween concept. I posed the toys, took pictures and coded and wrote the story based on them.

See how the Spades celebrate Halloween! What's really in the King's big blue cup? Who nicked the candy? Who is the unexpected guest? And try to find the good joke among all the bad ones.

I got a very similar message when I tried to upload images for my game entry in the database. The difference was that the denied permission was on line 1094 ( the long url ended with public_html/pages/game/add_or_edit.php )

So currently, I've got an entry with no available screenshots. https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2575-halloween-with-an-unexpected-guest/ There was no trouble adding the pictures to the Completed Games Announcement thread, though. https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=59562.msg636640691#new

Okay, then here's my game:

https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2575-halloween-with-an-unexpected-guest

Graphics made with the help of my kids' toys, and many, many bad jokes, including some you'll probably never even find. So many that statistics say that a few of them will turn out to be funny.

You are correct. I like that they have taken characters that didn't have significant roles in the other series, slapped them in a time machine and let humour do much of the writing. You're up next.

Or if you need to get everyone ready for school, kindergarten and work and time is running out.
Genre: Horror  :P

This sounds like a job for Elia.

This one was indeed one of the games I thought about when I chose the topic. I think Lorenzo nailed it pretty good.  (nod)
