Just be sure to have a backup just in case.  (laugh) It's easy to forget what you're doing and change a line instead of translating it on the open line beneath.

I played this before chapter one in order to be able to play most games from last year before the award nominations. But I can safely say that I'll play the other chapters about Wendy Whedon, as well.

I gather that Marion makes comics/graphic novels? The story and world building is very rich, and this looks and feels like a graphic novel come to life. The distinctive style of  providing stills or part of animations makes it different from most other games here. While I'd classify this as a visual novel of sorts, there're surprisingly many puzzles/tasks given the genre. Hats off for a brilliant story and one of last year's most fully painted characters. Now I'm just hoping to see all your games in English eventually.

As for translations, it shouldn't really depend on whether you used dialoge.
Quoting from the manual:
"AGS now makes it easy for you to create translations of your games. Right-click the "Translations" node in the tree, and choose "New translation". Once you've named it, AGS will ask if you want to populate the file now. Say yes.
Creating the translation writes all lines of game text to the file - no script sources, just all the displayable text from the game. The file is generated with each line of text separated by a blank line.

You can now give this file to your translators. They should fill in each blank line with the corresponding translation of the English line above it (DO NOT REPLACE THE ORIGINAL ENGLISH LINES WITH THE TRANSLATION). If a line is left blank, it will simply not be translated.

Once the translation is done, right-click the translation and choose "Compile". It will be converted into a compiled translation (.TRA) file in the Compiled folder, which can be used with the game engine.

Run the game Setup program, and select the translation from the drop-down box. Then, run the game, and all the text should be translated."

The same method could be used for proofreading.

Edit: Oh, and please add the game to the database. (Games page, down in the right corner.) You don't have to translate the game to do that.  ;)

I have a Key Mold prepared and Metal Cup is filled with brass lying on a stove.
These were my ideas which seemed plausible:
- dip an opened lighter in jeep's tank with string attached (Jeep's tank cap opened)
- get a tube from the still and try to suck some fuel out of the tank into the lighter
- fiddle with cabinet in Colonel's office to get a bottle and fill lighter with alcohol

So, in my quest to play through the backlog of games for 2020, I came to this. And it's awesome. While most MMM games I've tried have been rather short, this one is really long, and really challenging, too.

The use of three characters took me a while to get used to. I initially tried to do everything as Fred, but soon I discovered that the playable characters have different traits and abilities. This gives the game a whole new dimension. The characters are consistent and played for laughs. Not everything will fall to everyone's taste in humour, but there's more to smile at than be irritated about. There are also lots and lots of Easter eggs - my favourite (of the ones I discovered, I'm sure there are plenty that went over my head) was when I reached a luxurious bathroom and was met with the music from Bubble Bobble.

The best part of the game is the puzzles, some of which are frustratingly hard, but also rewarding when you stumble on the right track. There are several built-in hints that are integrated into the game itself. I needed those.  :-D

I hope to see more of these games in English!

I finally got around to playing this. And I liked it, especially that you have included lots of descriptions that aren't really necessary for the gameplay, but which adds a lot to the atmosphere. Also great humour in the dialogue and funny, easy puzzles.

A nice touch was

I think it's a wise choice to make this a game you have to pay for. That way, you won't get kids abusing it.

If one can accept the darkness of the humour involved, this is a nice enough game. I have found it best to enjoy it in small bits, casually killing off the clones of the protagonist (in my mind they are clones!) if I have some minutes to spare.

Another thing is when it's okay to refer to someone as boy/man or girl/woman. In your example, "The magazine is aimed at women aged 18-25", this may hold up. But what if it was aged 15-20? In my native tongue, referring to grown women as "girls" is quite common, and in my opinion, often derogatory. But where should this line go? Norwegians would most often refer to themselves as girls/boys until they graduate from the school level below university (aged about 18-19). Are there huge cultural differences here?

"Female" can definitely be used derogatory. But there will also be cases where the term seems more neutral, mainly where it can't easily be replaced with "woman". For instance "The magazine is aimed at 18â€"25-year-old females" or "The number of females competing in college sports has increased" would probably not be rude, because the females in question are both girls and women. These sentences would work equally fine with "males", which I believe should be the real test. (Examples from dictionary.cambridge.org) [/language nerd filter]

I would be cautious to recommend  Mind Rape: Duress to just any people, but given that KyriakosCH seems to like modernistic art/writing, I think perhaps this one could be worth a try. It's quite experimental, symbolic and touches on some of the same topics as This is the Way.

I played through this game tonight, and it was slightly frightening and quite confusing. I don't get all the twists and turns of the self-realization the character goes through, but I managed to find the (il)logic needed to proceed. Truly a game like no other I have played, thankfully, I should add. I don't think I could take this every day. Interesting and experimental, but also frustrating and depressing.

There seem to be some bugs. Looking at one of the graffitis brings an error message a way out in the game. I also had to force quit a few times beacause the game froze up. Save often if you play this.

Oh, come on. The guy makes a fair point that Lara Croft has been viewed both ways. Don't go "how little you understand" because of his opinions in another thread. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that Lara Croft at first was criticized for being eye candy for male players, but then it turned out that the games attracted more female players, presumably because they liked being able to play as a woman. And the games were good, so the boys didn't mind either. Anyway, in later years, the breast proportions seem to be scaled down without anyone thinking that's a bad move.

One must start somewhere. I happen to think Wonder Woman was a great movie, and that the character has been written well in some comics I've read, even though she has inherited a skimpy outfit. But I would secretly wish for the next generation of superheroines to wear something more practical than a revealing suit - the chainmail bikini trope. If the artist want her to be pretty, she could be while in her secret identity. In the movies, this is frequently done with the less iconic heroes (like X-Men wearing what amounts to a uniform), but I realize you can't easily do that with Wonder Woman or Supergirl (in a skirt!) because the image is better known.

You don't have to. I think most of the people here want that. But showing how and why white males dominate as protagonists, is useful by drawing a larger picture.

Ok, so this one is eligible for best demo in 2020? Strong contender! This game feels like a real Indy adventure from Lucasarts.

I finished it in about two hours. The puzzles were quite hard, but fair. What got me stuck for a while, was that I missed a hotspot.  ;) The pipe puzzle was very good!

I played this yesterday, and while I'm not enough into metal to take all the references, I appreciate that they are done with love. The game is hilarious. I think I sat ten minutes trying to find all the Easter eggs on the title screen even before the game proper started. The Heavy Metal Salesman made my wife wonder what I was laughing so hard about.  (laugh)
