I agree with Shadow1000. Charming, short and funny. I'll admit to laughing out loud when the cat was aggressive.  (laugh)

But what is the voice saying all the time? Something about Shrimp and Bobby? Now off to vote on the games page!

EDIT: The game is marked as a commercial game on the games page, but it's not. (It's a name your own price game.)

Alas, this theme hasn't given me any ideas. Plus I have other things to do this month, like AdventureX in a couple of weeks. But if anyone does need help making a game, feel free to ask.

Well, I have an idea and can write you a story/design if you want, but I won't be able to do any programming.  :-[

It doesn't look like our esteemed Texan is interested, and now a third of the month has gone by anyway. I'll just save it for a pitch contest some time down the line. If someone else wants to participate, but need an idea, drop me a PM.  ;)

I've posted similar corrections as comments on the game page. Should they rather be posted here?
There is actually something you can click on on the games’ page to report broken links.

I know. But there's no option to give the correct link. I'm of two minds whether the broken link should be reported if I've found a working link (typically the AGS depository). It would be sad if someone avoided the game because it was marked with a broken link, when there actually is a possible download option. By giving it in the comment section, I reckon it would be visible to anyone checking out the game's page.

On the other hand, I get that opening up for normal AGS-ers the option to change the download link could lead to all kinds of trouble and errors, so I'm not arguing for that. But if a broken link today has to be verified by a mod, then perhaps something similar could be done for giving a working link.

I guess I should have worded it "no realistic hope of winning the nomination".

Which is still wrong. Sanders was leading key polls a week before the nomination, with Biden running 3rd.

You've won, wow what an epic reply! I now realize that Sanders stopped his campaign for no reason at all. (laugh)

Seriously, though. I can't read his mind, of course, but Sanders seems more inclined to sacrifice personal positions in favour of political breakthroughs. It looks to me that the Democratic Party as a whole is moving slowly towards his ideas.

Looks good! (nod) Could you add it to the database, please? https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/add/ or the button down in the right corner on the games page.

Sanders dropped out from the nomination race when he had no realistic hope of winning.
No, this is just plain wrong. Sanders threw his considerable grassroots base behind the chosen candidate both times. This is one way "the party" chooses the candidate.
I guess I should have worded it "no realistic hope of winning the nomination". Sanders, by the looks of it, chose to urge his followers to vote for the chosen democrat candidate to avoid splitting the party. That's the common practice in recent years, if I've understood it correctly. It's been suggested that Obama recommended this course of action...which is not a conspiracy as far as I'm concerned. Tactics, maybe.

Are you seriously suggesting that those that grit their teeth to vote for Biden just out of hate for Trump wouldn't be happy to vote for someone like Sanders?
Are you seriously suggesting that I'm suggesting that?  (laugh) It's quite out of my comprehension that Hillary Clinton didn't win the last time. Seen from outside the US, any candidate ought to beat Trump, and Sanders especially. But then again, left-wing politicians in the US would be far right in Scandinavia. The political landscapes are vastly different.

But seriously, it seems that you see nothing odd about the democrats choosing a borderline unelectable candidate like Biden, over others that probably could have beat Trump, like Sanders or Gabbard. But here is a message from Earth: he was a terrible choice for a candidate,

Come on. The unelectable candidate just got more votes than anyone before him. Sanders dropped out from the nomination race when he had no realistic hope of winning. These nominations are miniature elections in themselves, and while there are several matters that seem odd from abroad, like that you have to be filthy rich to participate, they're not really determined by "the party". (Like European parties choose their candidates.)

Quoteand the only way he makes sense as a choice is to be a stand-in for someone who can't be legally elected to that office.

Do you know something about Kamala Harris that I don't? She was in the nomination race herself. Of course she's legally electable.

QuoteAs for how, he will probably bow out for health reasons, or just die. It would be quite a believable story if it weren't so utterly convenient.
He's old. I give you that. But I doubt Biden's plan is to die or retire.  (laugh) Choosing Harris for vice president has more to do with appealing to a broad spectrum of the voting public.

So, then. In these days, wouldn't it be a good idea to get your mind off the elections by playing some games? Surely they won't be political?  (laugh)

I only know of two Trump satires made  in AGS: *** in Trump's Bed and Max Fury.

Do you know of other political AGS games? I seem to recall a zombie mayor plot from RON, at least. Is politics a good subject for adventure games?

This looks fun. Downloaded!

Please consider adding the game to these pages' database as well. You can do that in the bottom right corner on the Games page -> https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/add/
That will make the game more visible to fellow AGS-ers.

Hmm...If I download this updated and corrected version, will my saved games still work?

Probably not. You will have access to them, but they will most likely crash the game. You will have to try to know.

Shadow, perhaps it's obvious, but you can download the corrected version in another folder, then you will have access to the saved games from both versions of the game. You don't have to overwrite your first version of the game. The saved games are not stored in the game folder.

So far I have consistently gotten comments about every single one of my previous games that the puzzles were too straighforward, so I made a deliberate effort this time to make a multi-step puzzle that required a bit of exploring and deducing to figure out. I tried to make sure that there was at least one clear clue for every step, but since pretty much everyone who has replied here has gotten stuck at one point or another I guess I just made it too confusing. I'll be sure to refine and clarify things as much as I can before I release the game fully.

I'd like to compliment you on the way the puzzles were designed, actually. The one thing that may have been confusing (or not) to my fellow players, I imagine could be if they

read the diaries out of order. I started with the one in the first room, then read the one in the room to the left, went back and to the room to the right before going to the room diagonally across from the first one. I already had an image of the crew's personalities after reading the security officer's notes. This was of great help when guessing their passwords. To solve the final puzzle, the player needs to have gathered information or objects from four sources, if I recall correctly. I think this would be harder to solve if the player doesn't play it all in one go. Or takes notes.

It's another great MAGS month!

Here are my comments:

Taste the Blood of Darkness by Slasher:
Spoiler
I think this game is even better than the one last month. Huge, and lots to do. I really liked how the locations became available as clickable banners during the investigation. I also liked that the protagonist and his conversation partners have some personalities that shine through. While the puzzles aren't too difficult, i had lots of trips back to the doctor because of the action sequences. It was fun that the option to attack with the wrong weapons was included.

I found two bugs. I spent so much time in the garden that the red mist turned and started to scroll the other way. Then for a moment, the leftmost part of the garden was lit up, as the "curtain" moved to the right and then back left again. I doubt this was intentional, but maybe it's not a bug, but rather a necessary effect of having the curtain of fog moving on top of the landscape. The other bug occurred when I killed Vascula but then was taken out by another bat right afterwards. When sent back to the crypts, the last bat had disappeared, and the endgame couldn't be triggered because I hadn't killed all the vampires.

The Last Light Post by JackPutter:
Spoiler
Awesome graphics. Jack is really getting the hang of the 3d environment. Even though the player is alone, the other characters take on personalities through the notes and diaries they have left behind. I think Jack really shines here as a writer. The difficulty level was just right for this player. I wasn't stuck, but had to think a bit to come up with the answers to the clever puzzles, which all was integrated into the plot in an admirable manner. I also quite liked the originality of the story and setting.

Lygophilous by VampireWombat:
Spoiler
Unfinished game, so it's not fair to compare it to the others. But I'm impressed that this was made in a couple of days. The graphics are very good and moody, and the same idea as in Slasher's game can be found here as well - the locations appears as clickable squares after breakthroughs in the case. Unfortunately, there are few things to do, leaving whole locations basically unnecessary or too large for this bare-bones version. If the game is updated with more material later, I'd also wish for an alternate ending, as the ending now felt a bit unsatisfactory (but great to look at!).

Lord of Light by PlayPretend:
Spoiler
This game is completely original in premise, wonderfully written with great characters and puzzles - all in one location. I kept trying everything just to read the funny feedback. Brilliant design and execution.

I voted for:

Lord of Light. I'm torn, as the games are very good this month, and very different as well. You should all pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

I only played one game series, Larry. :-[

But as a kid i thought the covers of Space Quest looked amazing.

Which games are MUST play from Sierra? Oh, i forgot. i Played Willy Beamish aswell, lovely graphics and vibe.
Which games are a must would depend on your taste. Based on that you like the Larry series, I guess the Space Quest games with their humorous approach would be a good place to go.

If you're into horror in the monster hunter sense, I'll recommend the two first Gabriel Knight games. Another personal favourite is Conquests of Camelot.

(laugh) I'm sure Olleh meant to suggest that you add the game to the AGS game database. Use the link in the bottom right corner of the games page or https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/add/

The game will be played a lot more that way.

Games made with old versions of AGS put their save games where they belong: into the games folder.
In newer versions someone came up with the idea, to put them in the Windows User profile under Saved Games. It is very impractical to seperate the save games from their game for various reasons: F.e. if you store your game onto an usb drive to play on different computers, your save games won't come with you.

Another slight problem (or advantage) with this is that if you download new and updated versions of the game, you still have access to the old saved games. This may be a good thing, if you don't lose your progress, or a bad thing, if it causes a crash or some logical inconsistencies. I guess that depends on how much the game is changed between the builds.
