Yes, me too. I had to choose reply with quotes, then copy the youtube url manually.

Edit: The link is https://youtu.be/B1RJuF0zr2U

The video looks so good! This will be a lot of fun, I'm sure of it!

Helm's "Untitled Demo Game" can be found here. It's one room and ends with an error message when you exit, and it probably won't work on a newer computer. Looks good, though.

An ancient joke game called Dan finds his beard can be found here.

A kind of joke game of a different nature  :-[ can be found here: https://archive.org/details/kings-quest-for-orgy
It's very short and not the same as the real Quest for Orgy, which can be found here.

A couple of older games not in the database, but on the archive: Trapped with Hell: Cruisin' and Trapped with Hell.
Edit: I tried the two Trapped games only after posting the links, hence no comment then. These are made by a kid years back. There are threads ridiculing them about how bad they were, and indeed, they're not any good, and rely a bit on offensive language. But they're not difficult either, despite what's said in the old threads where people gang up to ridicule a kid's game (not one of the forum's finest hours), so for someone who wants to play through all the available AGS games, they are a five minute distraction each.  Not worth the time of others than completionists and people who find bad games amusing.

I've forgotten to give feedback here. Three good games!

The Stinker by Slasher:
Spoiler
As usual, very humorous game from this creator and compellingly funny characters. Basically, I got to do everything I would think was stupid in real life in terms of vandalism, and had a great time doing so.

Siren by GOC Games:
Spoiler
Creepy and effective use of darkness, which I normally don't like, but in this setting, it works fine. Two characters to play makes the game more grounded, yet it's clearly a horror game. Some puzzles are old classics and while good, they didn't appeal to me because I've done them before. But the puzzles outside the building work very well.

Unfair by ZapZap:
Spoiler
Well written story and well implemented limited interface suited for the game type. I enjoyed uncovering more of the story and trying to win the case.

This is an experimental hybrid of several game genres. The player can't influence the story much, so the visual novel part mostly give you stuff to read. That said, it's written very well, and the world building is excellent, so I didn't mind.

In addition, there's a bagel construction simulator that's extremely well done, although that genre naturally has its limits. The voicing and effects on this part makes it quite cool.

And there is an additional element of what the character likes to do on their spare time. For now, it's gambling on a race. What it all adds up to, I'm not sure, but it feels like a well written casual game, made with AGS.

>Check ground for footprints or other signs of where Shoshana went.
>Hum the old Police song "Suzannah", which you always changed to "Shoshana" to tease your sister. You woild proceed to sing the entire song pronouncing every s like "sh", as if you had your mouth filled with food.

So...your first game ever...for sale on Steam! And from what it looks like, it's not a bad call either. Good graphics, fluid animation (I could run the video fine), a wacky story idea and a hook in the PR presentation that shows that you can probably write quite well. Marketing 101. I'm all in, baby. Wishlisting.

I played Delivery on Zergblat, which is another Unity game. This one is very nice, starting when I thought it was about to finish! Even so, one can see that the dev had more in mind, so I'm hoping for an expansion or continuation. Good-looking and funny, with a suitably ridiculous story. I was a bit confused by a couple of bugs, but not for long.

I also played First Contact. What if aliens decided to land and visit us, but ended up in a UFO convention? The premise is hilarious, and the puzzles are hard. (But not impossible.) Made with Unity.

And I played Interloper of the Dark Hall. The player walks in a labyrinth and solves some puzzles along the way. The atmosphere is rather spooky in this one, despite the chunky graphic style. On the negative side, you have to start from scratch when you make a mistake. Checkpoints would have improved this a lot. Unity for this one, too.

I played AI Dreams. This one is co-written by three AI-engines, according to the creator of the game. It's definitely surreal and dreamlike. It's not a hard game, but it's a strange experience I'm glad I had. It's easily the one that stands out from the crowd so far in this jam, although I'm not sure that equals best game.

And finally, I tried to play Salvation, but couldn't make it run. (Windows 10.) I see from comments that others have been successful, though.

I tried DungeonGuyIThink, which is another unfinished game made with Unity. It's a bit of 3d exploring with nothing to do (yet).

Another AGS game! Yay! I played Interdimensional Community Service. It's a humorous story with bickering between the hopeless hero and his AI companion as they try to remove an energy dome over Paris. The author have not used walkcycle animation and gone for drawing lots of still images of Paris instead, with the player character standing still. Some mechanics are a bit unusual, like that I can't do something myself, but need to find all the items, and then the character will automatically do it. It's not quite in the league of the other two AGS games, but worth a go nonetheless.

And I played Spirit Kingdom. This is a platform game with some pattern recognition puzzle minigames. I think I spent more time trying to land on a tiny platform than actually solving the puzzles. If one is to be very strict, this one could be removed from the jam for not being an adventure game. But it's decent entertainment for ten minutes or so.

At the recent $106 Adventure Game Challenge game jam, there is an entry called Interdimensional Community Service. Funny short sort of investigative game.

This author's also made two more games not in the database: The Gardner's Heist and 12 Hours a Slave, which were entries in the $103 and $101 Adventure Game Challenge, subsequently. 12 Hours a Slave won!

Vampire Wombat has made a few MAGS entries that aren't in the database, probably because some of them are somewhat unfinished/in demo state. Nevertheless, at https://vampirewombat.itch.io/ you can find Ka and Da, Lygophilous, The Summoned, Mystery Meat Mayhem, Research Reservations, Goat Burn, Shamrock High: Graduation, Flukie, Captain Carver's Carnival Curios, Sweet Mythery, Vacant Bodies, Pizza Calls, Comet Collision and Dr. Muttonchop. (My favourites among these are probably Lygophilous, Research Reservations and Comet Collision.) The real way to play MAGS games is of course to read the old thread of the competition and play all the games with the same theme. At least I find that more rewarding than playing them out of context.

Return to Candle Cove is at https://archive.org/details/return-to-candle-cove This is a "not-serious" entry and default not-winner of a MAGS with the theme "Legend" back in 2012. (It's an animation/joke game. For completeists only.)

The Object of all Dreams is here

I played Corporate Eyes, which is unfinished. I don't know if the final game will play like this or not, but I could move around in a 3d office landscape devoid of other people. All I could do was work at my desk and go home to sleep three times, more wasn't included in this version. But on subsequent returns to the office, small changes has occurred. Interesting idea and the office is good-looking, but to be honest, it wasn't much fun. Made with Unity.

I also played Joshbob Moves In. This is a small Unity game that lacks the graphic flair of the entry above, but is a much better game regardless. A goblin views our human stuff decidedly different than we do, and hilarity ensues. Very humorous short game, worth a play.

And I played Between the Lines Prologue, which is yet another Unity product. This is the first chapter of what I hope will become a larger work. Very well written and charming in the telling of a question mark caught up in a war between numbers and letters. Very light on puzzles, though.

When you are to attack, you need to use the correct inventory item AND then the correct line of questioning. If you are to ask about the texting, for instance, you need to

use the school pamphlet on the witness.

I'm a fan of Star Trek, Aliens and Marion.  ;) I'll make sure to play this!

I tried to play The Lost Chip but found very little to do. It didn't seem like a finished entry. However, a tip from another player lead me to some exits I had not noticed and some nice pressure platform type puzzles. It's not exactly adventure style, I'd label it puzzle game or arcade adventure, I guess. There are some glitches that lead to dead ends, so I hope this one will be a bit more polished post-jam. It's finishable, though.

Then I played Grim Weeper 0.1 and like Lorenzo says, it's promising, but unfinished beyond the first scene.

Edit: I noticed that the game count was gone down to 18. The game that is taken out, is Fish the Detective, which I played and wrote about above. Seems like the creator now wants to charge money for it, which is against the rules of the jam, at least in the jam period. The game was light years away from being a product one could charge money for, so this seems like an odd decision.

Quote from: Nahuel on Mon 03/10/2022 07:06:47Hey @heltenjon thanks for your reply. Yes I tried that but because I was using some global variables to determine that the player showed only 1 time. And before some event and after another I didn't want to re If all those depending on the NPC but ai think it's the easiest way,
I'm not really sure if I understood all that, but if you want this message to show only once, after the letter is shown, I would guess you could achieve it by moving the lines there and use DoOnceOnly. If I'm misreading your intent, please disregard. (And if I'm mistaken, I hope the better coders correct me.)

So you want them to say this after the letter has been clicked away? Have you tried simply moving the Say commands to after the letter is made invisible instead of after it's made visible?
