That's great news. I remember playing the prologue, and it was very funny!

The city looks beautiful. The cyberpet story sounds like it could have some potential for surprises!

If your virus protection forbids you to download from MediaFire, there's an alternative download here: https://archive.org/details/concurrence-v1.1

If you want an example, you can check out the youtube video on the database page of Pedro's Adventures in Spanish: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2556-pedro-s-adventures-in-spanish/.

This game was sadly ovelooked for nominations for the AGS animation award, but as you can see, in several of the scenes, there are villagers walking about, making food, crossing a bridge, or the bartender working.

First of all, big congrats on releasing an entry. It took you what, 2 days to put this together? 3 days? Really, really impressive even if the game is relatively simple.
I think it's 13 days from start to finish, so it's not all that impressive. I won't give a false impression that I'm a fast or good coder by any means.  (laugh) Even though I couldn't find time to work on it much while on vacation with my family. You'd also be a tad less impressed if you had witnessed me spending an hour wondering why my descriptions didn't show, until I realized they were in the same colour as the background... (roll)

Sorry to double-post. I very briefly teamed up with Slasher before realizing that I actually can't do pixel art to save my life. I think I'll just take the theme of this month 100% literally and use it to make something that I can use to learn the software and workflow of making an adventure game. I'll remove the "I can help with..." stuff from my profile except for play testing, which I can still absolutely do.
It doesn't say anywhere that it has to be pixel art. You may draw/paint something and scan it instead. Play to your strengths! (nod)

The code for the door had me stumped for a long while, and when I saw the system, I didn't remember how to calculate such an equation, so I half-brute-forced it.
As concerns the door lock puzzle, I had some concerns myself. But TBH I'm running out of ideas for lock puzzles, so despite some misgivings I put it into the game. The official term is “Chinese Remainders” puzzle. I don't think that Wikipedia does a good job of explaining how to solve it, so I'll put an algo for it here: (snipped)

The way I solved it:
Spoiler
First I tried to find the system on my own, filling a page with notes...until I discovered that Ian saw it right away. Then I could make three mathematical functions using the descriptions of the three digits. Normally, this could be solved by calculating (but I didn't remember the procedure) or by drawing three graphs and see where they intersect. But I couldn't be bothered to do that, so I found the lowest three digit number that worked for the 7 spot and kept adding 7 to it, skipping the numbers containing a zero. No, I'm not proud, but anything to escape those robots!

As for lock puzzles...how about revisiting the key in the maze lock you made for a MAGS, but with a more complicated maze? That one always seemed like a good idea to me.

I finally got around to playing this. As usual, challenging puzzles, but not impossible. I liked best the first puzzle, where I had to outmanouver the gardening robot. The code for the door had me stumped for a long while, and when I saw the system, I didn't remember how to calculate such an equation, so I half-brute-forced it. I don't know if I wasn't in the mood for numbers or what, but I didn't enjoy that puzzle as much as the others. The conveyor belt puzzle was also very good - nice implementation of known slider puzzles.

All in all, a very good game. I've come to expect great puzzles from your games, and there must be some fairly advanced coding involved here to make all the contraptions work. I'd be happy to see more of Ian in the future.  (nod)

It took me quite a few goes to win the AGS Werewolf game, and I think I will keep playing it for some time. The replay value is high. In addition to my role questions above, I was also a bit baffled when the Eliminator turned out to be independent in one of the games. How does that work? Can someone be turned away from the Cult? Does that NPC still eliminate?  ???

Anyway, I'm having a ball with this.  :-D

I played your game heltonjon. It's fun but I only could guess few of them since lots of those characters are not known on the other side of planet though I'm sure there are people even on this side who can do better than me.

Thanks for playing.  :) You can of course solve it by simply trying all the options, or ask for help in the hints section (or PM me). I was curious about whether the guesswork would be easy or hard. My daughter/playtester guessed them all, but she knows me very well and of course has the same cultural background.

That looks great! I'm looking forward to the Persian historical setting.  (nod)

I'm wondering how some of the roles work.

Is activating the Desperado and the Psychic a one-time move? Do they stay activated afterwards?

Does an attack/spying/persuasion attempt always succeed (if not countered)?

What is the priority of the roles? Will the Desperado kill the Hedonist or be blocked by it? And if blocked, will that mean someone else may kill the Desperado?

Does the Watcher only work when assigned to watch a council member?

Does the Whistleblower count as an attack? Meaning, will the Tender kill the Whistleblower if the Seed is targeted, and will the Seed or the Desperado kill the Whistleblower if attacked?

EDIT:

Also, are the Observer and the Investigator doubles of other roles, like the Watcher and the Inquisitor?

I played AGS Werewolf just now and lost. I need to read up more on the roles. I also realized it's probably a good move to take notes - I didn't always remember who I was investigating and couldn't take advantage of the knowledge (not) gained by having my investigator attacked.
.
I like the concept a lot and will have some more goes. Being a board game enthusiast definitely helps.  ;-D

MAGS entry with the theme "masquerade".

Database entry: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2624-masquerade-at-the-con

The game is made by using free assets, including some inventory items from the AGS trove. Thanks, guys!  ;-D

In the first part, the screen is full of mystery people, and you can talk to them or examine them in order to guess who they are. After you reveal their identities, you need to help the good guys and defeat the baddies in traditional first person point and click style. Have fun!

My game is at https://heltenjon.itch.io/masquerade-at-the-con

I'll edit this post with database entry and screenshots in a bit.  ;)

I'm basically finished with my game...removing bugs at the moment. Will post it later today.

I'm not sure I will make it even with the extended deadline. I've tried coding a bit in the hotel room after the others have gotten to sleep, so I've got the guesswork part of the game up and running (currently being tested by my kids), but there are still some things left in the second part. Of course, it looks absolutely amateurish compared to the other entries, so I doubt it has anything to say in the long run, but I'm having fun putting it together.  ;) Tomorrow I have a long drive across the country to get home, and I don't know if I'll get anything much done then.

Kastchey - looking good! I have no experience in the card game, but it looks like I'll get some soon.

Frankly, it sounds like you are better off using the BASS template, if your aim is to avoid cycling through options. BASS (Beneath a Steel Sky) uses left click to walk and interact and right click to look as standard, though it's easy to set up to use any click as well.

When you make a hotspot, object or character, you see a Properties panel down to the right. You can edit the "Name" to get the script name you want, and the "Description" to toggle what appears on screen when you hover the cursor over it. Then you may use the action panel (the lightning bolt) to choose what happens with any click, left click, right click or using inventory items on the hotspot/object/character. You may start a dialogue, change room, pick up the item or whatever you choose.

When you do it like this, you will automatically be placed in the correct script. Objects and hotspots go in the room script because they are set inside that particular room, while the characters and inventory items will be put in the global script. (I think, I've never actually checked, but that seems logical.)

It seems from what you write, that "Any click on hotspot" is the option you're looking for.

Is a membership at Patreon required to download?
No, you can download the demo or buy the game for one dollar on Itch.io. The download link in the database takes you there.

I'm going on holiday with my wife and kids tomorrow, which means no or very little alone time. I'm pretty sure that means I won't make the deadline, which is not surprising given that I started a few days ago. I've made more than half of the game, so I will finish it and release it eventually. I hope you other guys manage to put your games together!  (nod)
