Or the toxics in the atmosphere might be penetrating his rebreather, making him feel dizzy.  8)

But the thruth may lie in the age of this pic. As I said, the original pic is old. It might be older than  5 years I gave. ;D

Critics' Lounge / Pulp sci-fi [updated]

Improved version.  ;D

My first time posting here critic lounge. This pic is not game releated, just a colored version of one of my old pencil/ink drwaings. Wacom+PSP

A relic hunter stands alone in a surface of ancient dust planet, two blazing moons looking down at him.
Only a rebreather keeps him alive in this wasteland...

but it's worth the risk.

Comments are welcome.

big brother: As Timosity said, I don't update this thread very often, so it was necessary to bring this to the top.  Before my update this was somwhere page 4 or so.

Timosity: Thanks. yes indeed, all the in game cutscenes will be high res 3D video.  I just need to decide will I be using divX video or somethin else. Any toughts on that subject? what video format works best with AGS?

Paranoia: Thanks. I am actually progressing quite nicely at the moment. I might soon be placing my newly rendered scenes in AGS.  ;)

GinnyW: I thank thee also. As for the black lines, if thou look a the scene, thou shall notice, that the boxes alos have outlines. They are there to add "cartoonlikenes" into the renders.

Heya Enos!

Nah, you were not picky at all... correct you were. clipend was too low, but I corrected it... but as I am so lazy I have not uploaded newer version yet. Hah. ;D

Oh and look, I just placed my elYsiun avatar in use.

Yes, for those who (pretty much everyone I'd suppose) have not played the old regular 2D graphic version from my game, the plotline:

A crime has happened.
A Servant of evil has stolen an artifact of great religious power from a distand monestary situated in a un-named region of a un-named country.
The brothers, who live in that monestary, puzzeled by this crime, seek help from the king, who willingly places one of his knights, Reginald, to find out what has happened.

It is up to you, to find out what has happened and find the guilty.

The game contains:
- fastly whipped out plotline with fastly and poorly written diologue.
- Bad jokes and cliched fairytale implements
- Numereous characters with no personality what so ever
- Few, if not any, sound efects
- Music tarck contains long sound of silence
- Cinematic sequenzes made in 3D
- and puzzles so hard you won't be able to solve them even if your I.Q. would  pass the point of 160

The remake is going to be released as soon I have finished it. So don't hold your breath. Might take a while.

Yeah, my modeling is 100% Blender, textures are made with Paint Shop Pro.

Thank you.

I've updated Sir Reginalds outdoors scenes, just look at the first post.

Yeah, I am aiming at hig-res, so the game will be rather big. My old 2D version was about 20 megs or so and it did not even have decent sounds. Now I am planning to do some fully animted 3D cutscenes also, so I am gessing this game will be rather large.  :P

I was faster with this than I tought. Well, here is the first, rather finished character. The textures need to be tweaked a bit and maybe I need to add some small details, but otherwise, here is Brother Hans:

HANS

He's just one of the four monks from the monestary.

Of course you may. I use Blender, its free and has many great qualities, like armature animation options etc.
And its also multiplatform, so it can be used in Linux, irix Windows etc.

To get more info go www.blender.org
or www.elysiun.com
or www.blender3d.org

Thanks.

I could do this in proper cellshading if I would just get Tuhopuu Blender working, but as now there is just toon edges enabled in my scenes.  :-\

As for the style, the House of Witch is pretty much styled in way I am aiming at.

And characters you will see, I am actually modeling one right at the moment, but I won't be promising to show it to you any day soon. Might take some time, because soon I will be pretty occupied with time.  :P

It's been a while, but I've managed to whip out a cutscene, divx 5.05 coded, about 2.3 megs to download. Feel free to comment. As for anim speed, i know it is way too fast, but i'll correct that problem. Also there are no sound yet. Sorry.

Teft of the tear

What happens: hadden, the evil dude, steals the relic of the Crying Mother, The tear.

-----old news----

The fisrt part of the avi is regular render, tha last part is cell shaded. give me your toughts, which is better.

I have pretty much finalized the main character of the game, I am gonna do only minor tweaking on him.  It's your basic evolution of character pic.

There was one thing I forgot to ask earlier, conserning mainly the introduction movie. The question is: Did it play correctly? because I compressed it with XP movie maker (believe or not) and I am not actually sure did that piece of crap program use any external compressor, like divX or sumthing.
