I would just say that he is standing in a weird position, neither a fighting position nor a normal/relaxed pos.
He looks lika a statue...and maybe you could lower his eyebrows so he doesn't look scared?..

I would just remove those cracks on the floor, and make the back part (the "mountains") look more "unclear", I think you could add an effect like the one in Mordalles paintover, but not so complicated so it fits your style..

EDIT: Wow...I'm loving it so far, the characters are great..specially the little elf Cedric, the dialogs are very funny, and the puzzles are very cool...the graphics are awesome..I couldn't find anything I don't like yet..I'll keep on playing

edit3:I saw the link in the readme...

I would change his "santa boots" into a different shape, something not so round and big..
And I would also make his head rise a little after the first step, it would give a him a superiority attitude.
other that that I think it looks very very good..
edit: And maybe his head is a bit small..and his left fist looks a bit weird..
