Engine Development / Re: AGS engine iOS port

You can now install on non-jailbreaked devices.... I don't know how they did it, but here's an example:
https://github.com/rileytestut/GBA4iOS

And this: http://appadvice.com/appnn/2013/07/how-to-install-a-game-boy-emulator-on-your-idevice-jailbreak-free

Could this be done with AGS too?

Anything new regarding the app? :)
I'd be interested in donating to speed up the process ;) Also, testing if you want :)
#24
Nice to see both AGA and Snake is still here :) Then I won't feel all alone :)
#25
Thanks! How will this affect other builds of AGS? Does it work with Android and so on?

Hi. I've been searching the forum for a while, but haven't gotten the question I have answered.
What sort of resolutions do AGS support now? Has it come as far as it's supporting 1280x800 or 1920x1080?
If not, how much time are we looking on before this is added?

I meant I noticed a AGS HD build a short while ago, but can't really find it anymore.
I hope I wasn't dreaming about it :)

Is there also some sort of daily build of the engine? And where can the latest, up-to-date manual be found?

Yeah, well, maybe it's a good being embarrassed by it. That means I've changed for the better :)
Finally I'll be able to put out a game I promised 9 years ago :)

Sometimes when it's quiet.. you can still hear the....somewhat haunted past.
It might just be me, but I'm kind of embarrassed of the way I behaved ages ago. Maybe it had something to do with my age, maybe I wrote in code or something. Anyway, it's embarrassing to look back, as late as 2005. I hope you didn't get the wrong impression of me back then, but I don't blaim you if you did :P

Well, now I'm not only wiser. I got older too. I still haven't grown a mustache, though.

When I don't think about my embarrassing behavior, I still remember a lot of the old people. I've seen some of you around here somewhere, just haven't gotten myself far enough for a hello :)

So my question to the old AGSers is..
Are you embarrassed of what you were then, when you were writing on the forum?

And to new AGSers, honestly, learn from my mistakes :)
Behave and respect others. Then you can look back in 10 years and be proud of what you did write back then and still proud of what you write :)

Still problems with voice and music packs in Kings Quest X and Al Emmo...:/ Both are in the same folder..

Sprite site.... Hmmmm.. I can't really say that I remember what you are referring to.
If so, I didn't create any of the sprites. I know c_leksutin (I think it was) posted some free sprites.
Sure you don't mix anyone else with me? :)

Hi!
I've been hiding in the dark for the last couple of years. From time to time, I've occasionally dropped by to say hi. Still kicking, more or less.

I did the famous ASAP Adventure and Bluecup on the Run, before I disappeared with Roger Foodbelly. A very promising game that's been going on for maybe as long as I've been a member here, on and off. Just like myself.

That's still kicking too btw.

I'm at the moment refreshing my old games, and never-before-seen sequels and other games I found on my old dusty hard drive.

And I decided to come home. At last.

And I'm Atle btw, but you can call me jannar.
27 year old veteran. Still living in Norway.
Still developing Roger Foodbelly.
Still me :)

Welcome to everyone else! If this still is the amazing community it once was, then you're in for a great ride.

Yes, they were. And they are in the same folder as the game.
Same problem with KQ-remakes with speech.

Sound is enabled in settings :P

Hey Chris! Thanks for the new touch-support. Works perfect.
But I tried to run Al Emmo, but I only get a dialog box saying
QuoteWARNING: Please run the setup program and check the 'use digital music pack' and use speech pack' options before playing. These files must be available for the game to run."

I've tried to look in the AGS Android settings, but I can't figure it out. Someone able to help?
#34
Hey, Chris. Love the way AGS has become. Great work, great to see you still working on it!
One thing, though, I would like to ask.

Could you add touch controls to the engines next release? It's so much handy having that control method, instead of the dragging cursor around :)

Hey, as I'm doing somewhat of a remastered version of Bluecup on the Run I was just playing with the idea of AGS music on Spotify.

Many games have borrowed music from somewhere, like with Bluecup on the Run, so I decided to go back and try to find the songs.

I hope this thread can and will be used for posting playlists from your games or other games. And hell, it brings back a lot of good memories. And I think it will for many of you.

Anyway, here's the playlist for Bluecup on the Run:
http://open.spotify.com/user/jannar85/playlist/0iK3mZa9aX8KNE1vEFXxqF

If anyone needs invite to Spotify, send me a PM, as I have around 13 left.
And I'm not 100% sure I've posted in the correct forum, so please move if any m0ds have to ;)

Have you tried contacting adventuredevelopers.com ? They probably will offer some server space for this.

Btw, this looks amazing.
(And I never played the original.)

Just some inputs, can we sort the games after year, developer, rating and so on?
I would think screenshots from the game would be better as well, in the database, plus walkthrough, link to the game site, also a full description of the story, and that description can be tagline.

Maybe with full cover too, if it's added.

Well, that's my two cents atm. I don't know if they have been suggested already, but here you have it :)

Critics' Lounge / Re: Company logo.

Thanks for the name-change suggestion, but I'm afraid that Gourmet Games is already taken, as we've considered that name a long time ago, but then we figured out that there was a company already named that. And there was another company that took the name, but had to change it to something else

So I don't know the impact it will do to us, if we're going with the same name?

The logo design was meant to show that there is no spoon :P And the player waiting for delicious "games" for us to cook up. I mean, if we're adding food as well, it will be even more complicated logo design.

I don't really mind people thinking "OHH! The Matrix!"

It can actually have a positive effect on our games, as we're making games in the same type as the matrix...

What about Gastronomy Games then?

Here's the latest version, I did some changes to it. Also about the colours that didn't seem right...

Sorry for the repost..

Okay, it worked now. I can see that it looks a lot better now, compared to my version. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

By the way, is it just me, or does the colors on the fork and the spoon seem a little off? Could be all those darker areas... or the light gray. I think it would be better having the colors more in tune with eachother.
