Atelier: Didn't I tell you what the vision of our company was? The idea was to show that we're cooking up delicious adventure games for gourmets to savour.

Thanks for all feedback. I'll try to fix the logo and post a new version of it soon.

Ryan, yes, it can be misconceived as being a zero, and then it will lose a little of it's meaning.

Critics' Lounge / Company logo.

Hey, I need feedback to my company logo, which is work in progress.
My company is named there is no spoon, and has nothing to do with the matrix :P It's a different story to the name, so quiet you ;)

The idea for the logo was to show that we're cooking up delicious games for gourmets to savour.

Thanks for taking your time to help.

I'm trying to RUN some older games, but they don't start at all... Instead, I get this:

"Adventure Creator v2.21 Interpreter
Copyright (c) 1999-2000 Chris Jones
ACI version 2.21.167
Pentium Pro CPU detected.
Could not load the language definition file. Check you have a valid
copy of the Adventure Creator, and that the LANGUAGE environment is valid."

Some of them are actually playable. Just not everyone.. I'd appreciate it if I got any help :)

I guess this go here.. I've just started up a very old game I worked on years ago. Then things began to get annoying. But I've removed all those errors for now (don't worry, it was obselete in the new version). But the inventory GUI doesn't work at all! I've even tried the shortcut (ctrl+i), and that turns my screen black as s**t as well. Has anyone else run into a similar problem, and can be so helpful to tell me how to solve this?

Thanks.

My bad :P I've put them into a function now, and it works. I was about to go here and delete my embarrasing thread, but then I noticed your reply :P But thanks anyway :)

Hey! Looks like I'm back into programming again. Too bad for me, things has changed so much with AGS, I have to keep myself up to date now! ;o

I'm trying to set another speech font, instead of the normal one, but this error keeps coming up. It might just be some minor mistake, but.. I've tried it both in the Global script and the room script.

The code I'm using is:
Game.SpeechFont = eFontFont4; or Game.NormalFont = eFontFont4; and I've also tried using enum Game.SpeechFont = eFontFont4; without luck.

And yes, I have a font number 4, with outline font number 3.

Oh, and this probably belongs in.. Beginners Technical Questions.... Sorry, my bad.

It's hard getting back to AGS

Hey, after trying out ACR - with no luck, I hope there will be someone who reads this post.

Some of you might have heard about or remember the name Roger Foodbelly (you can check out the blog http://rogerfoodbelly.blogspot.com/ for more info). Tomorrow we're starting the full game development, but our programmer went missing. And we need one, badly, for the game to see the light.

The story is completed, and most of the designs are done. So right now it's full speed ahead.

Uh, well. Is there any questions you might have.. Don't pm me - send me an e-mail instead at jannar85 @ gmail.com

I hope we will fill this position very quickly. And the programmer must be talented. It's an important factor.

Hey Chris.
As NavyNuke lost the source code to this wonderful tool, could you please decompile it for him? This could open a possibility for future versions.

Source: http://adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=189

I'd really appreciate it if you could help him out :-)

I just wanted to drop a note, saying hi and mention we've started blogging about the game.

http://rogerfoodbelly.blogspot.com/

Most people have thought the project would be dead, and had been for a long time. Actually, that's just something we made you believe. Anyway people, feel free to comment the posts, come with wishes and all that. Even questions.

And keep checking back!

I've added a link to one of our talented animator, and you can actually find something from Roger Foodbelly in that one, for those who want to check it out.

I wish I could show you something more, but as the server is down, I can't show you anything right now. That might change quick, though.

- graphics 1%
- puzzles 67%
- scripting 0%
- music/sound 3%

The game will be split into episodes, with each episode ending with a cliffhanger and just to make it clear: This is the new Roger Foodbelly (yeah, there was an old one.)

I can also mention, I need coders, as my ags skills are pretty much gone today.

To moderators: If this is short, please PM me.

Looks good, but there seems to be something wrong with the carpet?

Though, I thought the interest for WLM was bigger...
Well, there are proxy programs all around the internet that allow anyone to use the Live Messenger beta, so...
But using the proxy will disable some features, plus it's illegal.

Thanks Darth :) I appreciate it.
Where are all the old users, really?

If there's interest for it, but it seems no one cares.. really. It's been read 85 times, and no replies :P

Hello people of AGS (Long time, no see, eh?)
I'm handing out a handful of invitations to gmail, to those who need it.

Just post here if you use your e-mail regulary (This means if you get a lot of e-mails), and are in the need for more space and are willing to switch. If you are using it rarely, you don't need the invitation.

Also, I'm giving away a free invitation to Windows Live Messenger, if you can prove you're worth it. I have no idea how.

I could mention the need of someone to work with me on something. Freeware, of course. You can, if you want Windows Live Messenger, contact me through pm.

If you want gmail, please reply to this thread.

Anyway, I would need your e-mail address for both, and I'll pick a lucky winner for the Windows Live Messenger invitation.

Cheers.

Critics' Lounge / Tool for cutting up sprites?
Thu 25/08/2005 15:37:32
Hay. Yes, I AM gradually coming back  := Anyway, I remember seeing a program to cut up sprites quite long ago. It was used for sprites like this: http://sprites.fireball20xl.com/NSA/Sheets/kirbynmid.gif

The tool did the job seperating each one of the sprites. Would spare some time in AGS, as well..
I'd appreciate it if anyone could remember, or are still using this tool - and tell me ;)

Thanks.

but what if everyone thought this? ¬¬
Let's say I tried, but I got no replies.
I've seen people asking for help outside ACR, so why couldn't I give it a go as well?

Introduction
Hello, I'm Atle, also called Jannar on these forums. An old AGS-er. I was thinking of using ACR for this, but I think this will work better.

General
Currently I look for artists who are quick with a pencil (or tablet), and could sketch out a few scenes. Also, I seek animators and a character designer.

I will work to complete the whole story in one or two months, and it's talk about making 1 or 2 background sketches and 2-4 character designs per week. If you feel like doing more, we won't stop you ;) The sketches should be made 640x480 or higher.

The background will be drawn over again after some time, or just possibly colored.
Walkcycles will also then be improved further. Also, if you're just a character designer, you're welcome too.

If there will be many interesting appliers, I will personally send each of those an e-mail and tell more about the project. Don't misconceive me, I will take contact with those anyway.

I recommend signing up, and I hope someone will.
Questions will be answered when you are chosen. Also, the project could also open to new exciting projects to work with.

Signing up
Please post contact information, and tell us a little about yourself.
It would be nice if you could attach an example of your work. Also include an e-mail were we can reach you. If you don't feel to post here, feel free to send me a PM.

Thanks for taking interest.

Here's an example of the style we're heading. It would be nice if you could match this style or something close to it:
