I noticed it the other day. There is a GetMP3milli, GetMidiBeat and a SeekModPattern but no getModPattern.

I think it would be handy when making theme music. You got the same melody but in a different tone to make it feel more sad but most of the same samples are used. If you made it in the same mod file it would save some bits.

In the game you would send the music back to the beginning when it reaches the sad theme. And when the time is right you would play that pattern in the game.

Wow dude, hold on. I already booked my flight and stuff. So I'm coming.

Question 1: I'm not bringing a tent but only a sleeping bag. Is there a warm, dry and quasi clean floor to sleep on?
Queation 2: Who and how many are comming. Just give an optimistic guess.
Awnser A: My laptop stays home ...and the dutch weed to. ;) (never mess with the Dutch custums, and don't look them in the eye)

Nice one Vel. And Iqu.

I havn't checked out mags in a while so could you tell the rules for the mags games that were in the issue next time.

And because there are now more then one person writing the e-zine, you may also give the name of the person who did the review. Unless Iqu is totaly okay with being Vel's ghostwriter.

I think Calsoon 2 was a nice example of voice acting in AGS.

Wasn't SQ4's voice acting great?
Weird. I played SQ4 but I can't remember if it was.

Maybe you should PM leshaussebons and ask him.

I don't know if he will react. It seems that he hasn't been on the board for a while...

Darth Mandarb, don't act like a moderator if you're not. Give the kid a little slack.

This is how it works. The lowest grade you can get is 10. The highest 100.
If you pass the test (get a 55 or higher), you get 3 points. If you don't, you get nothing, nada, zippo, no points. The total points of all the classes put together is 60. If you don't have 60 points at the end of the year (and didn't pass every test) you can still go to the second year but have to re take exams or projects of the first year.

I still think it's wierd that I got exacty 55. Maybe the teacher felt sorry and counted a point extra. But the teacher acts generaly as an ass.

The wandering soldier. (making those checker patterns was bad for my eyes)

This character was based on an episode in a tv series. I can't remember the name. It was about an old man sitting next to the fire place telling stories to his talking dog. (i think is was a Jim Henson production).
In one storie a soldier was on his way home when e came across a tree full of little devils. He tricked the devils to get into his bag but when he opened them they escaped except for one that he grabbed out of the air. The little devil owed him a favour if he let him go. And so the soldier did.
Some years later his daughter became very ill. He asked the liitle devil to cure her. The devil gave him a glass, and when you fill the glass with water, you could see Death. If you sprinkled the water on Death, he would disappear.
His daughter got better and he traveled the country to perform his trick. Until one day when Death tisited him. But then the soldier tricked Death to get in his bag. The soldier tied the bag in the highes tree far in the woods.
Years passed, and nobody could die. Wars were going on forever, and people were in pain. The soldier regretted what he did. and released Death. He says that Death should take him but before he could, Death escaped trom the bag.
With Death afraid of him, the soldier started to wonder the world. He walked the path to heaven, but they wouldn't let him in because he played with death. He walked the path to hell but they wouldn't let him because he tricked the devils. And even today he is wandering this world. But don't worry, he's thinking up another plan.

Yes, you must have downloaded the first version. I found that bug this morning and uploaded the new one.

I had around 50 points when I was test playing it.

I never know what to write in these posts other then PLAY the game.

This is one of those party games like Mario Party but made with ags.
I made it in ten days when I should have learned for my Logical Phisics exam. (p --> q <=> ¬p v q). I passed it with a 55.
edit:(if I got a 54 I would have failed the exam)

*This game features all your favorite characters from Demo Quest 2.
*It has 3 mini games for hours of fun.
*One gigantic Forest board to play on.
*Play with up to tree players or by yourself with build in life like bots.
*Set the time length for this game yourself.
*Trivia questions that ONLY the 1337 adventure gamer can awnser.
*And a lot of other crap.

edit: Thanks for the mirror, minimi! :D
edit2: fixed some other bugs. in the old version when Toadie found points on the road, his score was reset to 50 plust the last score made in the shooting game.

Oh, nice. I can picture the screen moving down from the sky to the castle.
But why is there a cloud BEHIND the moon?
#1055
True, but you can see ags related files like agsetup.cfg. You can also look at the file propeties.

http://www.clickteam.com/ has an install prog.

RAR is beter then ZIP? I'll be using that then.

one. Osborne, altough a soldier, was a lousy shooter. I've been in the warehouse in Dallas and the place where Kennedy was shot. It's quite a distance. He could shoot earlier.
two. If you believe the "magic bules theory" then you can just as well believe in the 2nd/3rd gunner.
tree. What are we fighting for.

I no longer need questions, because...the game is finished! ;D

Questions about AGS games or just general trivia? For AGS or Adventure games, you could ask about the setting etc.. Like, for example: Is the game Apprentice set in a busy industrial city? Or something like that..

edit: Oh wait, I may have misunderstood you, are you talking about the game where you think of something and then the computer needs to guess it by asking questions? I've never heard it called 40 questions though. :)

Doh. I forgot to tell that I was looking for adventure game related questions.
And no, you land on a space, you get a random question and then you press true or false.
If the player get the question wrong, it explains why the question was true or false.

Perhaps we should PM you some questions, jetxl, that way they'll be new and fresh when the board game is ready, rather than everyone gathering the answers off this thread before hand ;)

That's a great idea.
Things are going faster as I planned and the game itself is already finished. I only have to add stuff so that when there is one player, the other characters move automaticly and get random points when they land on an action field.
So if people have some questions. PLEASE PM ME. I want to release this game.
#1059
I've been working on an AGS board game and it's almost finished. (Expect it next week)
But I have trouble finding questions for a question game. I need about 40 true or false questions. I could copy #ags trivia but I rather not.

Can anybody give me a website with game questions? Or give me questions you thought up. They should be adventure game or AGS related.

I just prefer to RAR things and let people unpack the game themselves, that way it's like a christmas present you open yourself, it's no fun when somebody else opens it for you...

Heh, funny but true. I alwais get paranoid when double clicking on a *.exe file. You never know if there is a virus in there. But it looks more pro when the game instals in program files.
