Ah the age old question: Is bigger better?
Well is it?

I thought you were not allowed to listen to the radio in your (here it comes) game shop.

It sounds like a song from GTA 4. Glukoza - Schweine?

You're trying to pull off an old douche bag trick. Artists are not dogs that want to jump through your hoops.

There.

That's a stone slab on the wall just like the one on the other side. Or is it...

If you're really bored, I always wanted to do a AGS tutorial covering only the most basic stuff. All I need is 2 backgrounds and a splash screen, some character animations (walk, talk, crouch), items, maybe a close up of a tree. Nothing fancy but apealing enough for people to download when they seen a screenshot.
Drop me a line if you want to.

My goal was to archive the games on video, not really to review or inform about a X year old freeware game. That could be fun too... but not right now.
And the nerd is god, obviously.

If you had a thread or website that showed updates, I'd love to check the new game's video out.

My youtube channel is the only updated thing I have. Best to check that out regularly.

FotAQ did. See that black space between the background and GUI? It's for the command text.
I remember that it was translated to spanish and french too. This way the game didn't have to change graphics.

Those are mugs, not cups.

THIS is a cup.

I'll admit I liked both the gui and the game, but I don't really get into a fit about gui design.  I will concede that it uses some redundant actions (open/close and move could all factor into to the wrench, for instance) but it never bothered me to click a specific icon for a specific action.  Amazon Queen didn't make too much use of open/close or move that I remember, which is a good argument for condensing them into the wrench icon.  Using an item on a person could just as easily substitute for give as well, and I can't remember if you could actually give items to people this way.
Basicly all the verbs can be compressed into interact, look and walk, but the choice in verbs is the charm of games like MI and FotAQ. It's not really the goal here to make it as efficient as possible.
It's possible to sum up all the Lord of the Ring books into one word: walking. But that doesn't make it more or as interesting as the books.

James Bond the platform game was made by Foz, a brittish chap best known for Flashbax and M.I.A.
He's not very active anymore but you can find a copy of the game here.

And no, you didn't break a forum rule. It's more some kind of weird internet ettiquet thing I suppose.

I understand and agree. When I watch a playthrough I've already desided that I'm not going to finish that game myself. When I do want to finish or have finished a game then I'm not going to watch it.
There are so many adventure games that I can't play them all. Sometimes it's impossible to get a working legal copy too. Watching a video isn't illegal and takes less time to finish.
I've got a lot of sierra games (still wrapped in plastic), but I just dong enjoy playing sierra games. This way I can enjoy or critique the story objectively.
It's also feels like an accomplishment to sit through a 4 hour long video.

What a cool idea!

You've really spent some time on this.  Color me impressed!!

Great job!

It would be neat to have these videos tied into each game's entry in the AGS database! (with a spoiler alert of course!)
Erm, don't make me play all AGS games now.

The reason why I never use the wiki is because it feels broken/incomplete. this page just redirects to the forums, and the fire plug-in doesn't even work. I could just as well use the search function in the forum or game DB.
This is the exact reason why I prefer the english Wikipedia over the dutch/esperanto versions, because those give me less info. Which brings me to point B: AGS is a small community. There might be many things to write about, but we lack the man power to cover it all.
Also, the forum is the heart of AGS. This is where most things happen, the wiki is only a place to make a note about it.

More videos friday!

We have a wiki?

Hi there.
Over the past few months, instead of putting effort into my own AGS games, I've been recording other people's AGS games. They call it longplays, but I call it [AGS walkthrough].
There are about 30 games up now, and there are still many on my to-do list.
I'm sure some people discovered it themselves but it's only now that I'm comfortable sharing my hobby on these forums (you bunch of judgemental freaks).

So check it out:

How DARE these new members come to TerranRich's forums and bump old threads!

Dalauder, if a topic hasn't been discussed for half a year it's most likely dead.

Is this tread about porn games in general or are you just asking my permission to make a porn game?
