I've heard that the PR team of Dante's Inferno wanted to do a step beyond the usual EA marketing campain. Don't know if that's the best way to promote a game.
B.t.w. in what chapter of Divine Comedy is Dante a knight-in-shining-armour action hero, battling demons with a giant syt? Must have missed that page...

YES! How the heck did you find them so fast? Do you have an IMDBPro account, maybe?

Calling all movie buffs!
I'm looking for a few movies that I haven't seen except for the trailers on dark horizons years ago. I can't even find them using google without wading through 1000 emo blogs. Please don't make me wade through emo blogs.

The first one is quite clear in my memory. It's about some jock that gets kidnapped, walks back out of the woods on a road. He goes to class, the teacher calls out his name, he put up his hand but the teacher ignores him. He thinks it's a joke, he gets mad and then realizes he's a ghost. He then has to find out where his body is or he will die for real.

Number two must be an indie film. It's about a teen that I think killed himself and is in purgatory. He's looking for his girlfriend who he hears also killed himself, but then picks up a hitchhiker girl. It's a road trip movie, not a horror movie.

Last one is really really vague but I really really want to see this one. I can only remember one scene which might have been the trailer. It's set in suburbian America. A teenager goes to his neighbors house who are having a barbeque party. He goes to the poolhouse (or bedroom?) where his friend lives, but when he opens the door he sees his friend hung himself. He then closes the door as if he didn't see anything and walks out, along the way the mother asks if he seen her son, he says he's fine and keeps walking. The guy was a dealer and it's most likely that teens on drugs or fake gloss of suburbia was the theme of the movie.

I think I remember more details of the films but I just don't know for sure if those details are from those films or just echoes of films I've seen before (false memories and memory associations, which is what happens when one ponders too much about something). However, these are the parts I know for sure did appear in those films.

I have a soft spot for gloomy teen movies.
Since they don't pull much crowds they don't appear in theathers much and aren't constant repeated on tv. Feel free to plug names if you seen a good movie that fits this sub genre. It's a real hassle finding them, and I usually just stumble upon them by accident.

Hmm, games similar to future wars? Duty and Beyond, Ringworld or Universe.

I remember Future Wars having a great atmospheric beginning, but then turning into a boring, completely linear interactive movie. And it had dead ends.

I much prefer Another World, even if it isn't exactly an adventure game.
I agree.

I did got messenger 9 to install and run, but it won't connect. But I'm using Pidgeon now which DOES work.
I also had problems installing .net framework 3.5, which took me this whole weekend to get it right, but at least everything is working great again. (But for how long?)

Ok, ok, this is another one of those tech support topics...

Because of the security leaks or something everybody has to upgrade to a new windows live messenger version (no# 9 i believe).
The problem though is that I'm using win xp 64 (which is awesome) and for some reason microsoft decided to shaft all the xp 64 users by not supporting it on this OS (read here), even though it SHOULD and HAS run correctly was it not for the setup file checking the OS version and then cancelling the installation. Messenger 8 and below worked fine and I got 8.5 running too after finding an unofficial patch.
But now I'm back at square one. I managed to install messenger 9 but it won't connect. It says that the service is temp unavaileble, though I'm sure that's not the problem, and it's not the firewall eighter.
I tried finding a solution with google but the pages it links to are sometimes 5 years old, and I obviously can't ask people on msn for help so I'm turning to the forums as a last resort.

I doubt people can help me with this problem, I just needed to vent, but maybe they CAN tell me about a messenger alternative that they use. Like trillion, except free and without twitter crap.

You know, if I gave a rat's ass about comics, that would probably be big news. I suppose Disney will be pretty darn mighty in parts of the entertainment sector now, though.
Well, disney now controls everything marvel EXCEPT for the comics.
I lost intrest in comics about a year ago but I lost interst in marvel and dc before that.

I haven't played it but I followed it on adventuregamers.com. I also hope it'll become an international smash hit and put adventure games back into the spotlight.
Walking inside such breath taking hand drawn backgrounds is possible in no other genre than the adventure game. This it bound to have an universal appeal, I just don't understand why they don'tmake more games like this.

I got all 29 reprints of the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks http://www.fightingfantasygamebooks.com/gamebooks.htm (#30 is a special edition of the first book so I skipped that one), yet I haven't read a single one (not much spare time lately).
Also 2 Golden Dragon gamebooks which I prefer.
And a Star Challenge game book, because I like sci-fi.
I also owned a gamebook by TSR, Mirror Mountain or something, but it was too much focused on children so I gave it away to a childish friend.

They are indeed perfect for adventure games, and it's a shame nobody recreates them in a new media (like those electric book devices?). Maybe because kids today choose not to read...

I don't fit into your focus group, but I'll tell you my take on MM non the less.

I like MM because...
1: it's non linear yet the objectives are not.
2: things happen inside the house regardless of the player's actions.
3: it's fair.
4: even today, 22 years later, it's unique.
5: this

I tried to post from work via a proxy but it didn't work, so I'm posting from home.

I know Hammer Film made movies based on the old Tales From The Cript comics, maybe that's what you are looking for.

EDIT:
Oh, it seems it wasn't Hammer Films but another english film production company.

The walking dead.

Not a book but a massive collection of comic books which is ten times better when it comes to zombies.

I support this message.

I vote Italy and I like Nacho as host, since it's his job and all.

But I think we shouldn't vote but decide based on price v. amount of people it can house v. luxury.
After a few minutes of searching I found that there are indeed castles for rent in Netherland, but they don't like to give away the price (maybe because it'll knock you off you chair???), while renting a castle in Italy is like renting a car...

Let's leave this boring chapter and move on to more interesting questions!

Geez, did I opened a can of english teacher whoopass?
So even though the vowel in "pritty" and "pritty" are different, they are pronounced the same. And the last vowel in "sense" isn't even pronounced.
I though there might be some minute difference only noticeable by the natives, which would make writing the words easier but I once again conclude that language, unlike math, is just kaotik krep.
#38
I have a question not about english spelling but about pronounciation.

"Pritty" is spelled wrong, but if pronounced, does it sound different than "pretty"? Can a person hear the difference?
The same goes for:
sense - sence
would - wood
eye - I
knows - nose

That's all I can think up right now.
Just wondering, really.
hmm, wondering - wandering.
#39
Is there something wrong between you two?

Cons for Holland:
1. Haven't we tried this before?
...
I don't think we have.

I'd choose Italy above Netherland since I live in this poophole country.

Every dutch person can at least understand english so you don't need a local translator like helm everytime you order a pizza.
Finding cheap/isolated/beautifull accomodations that can hold 20+ people for a week will be hard. There won't be as much choise as in Italy, that's for sure.

What about... Germany?
We could build a bonfire!
