Err, september? After the summer holiday? And how does that solve the problem that some people can't attend because of school?

Quote from: Ha Ha I am OK on Wed 11/10/2006 05:14:29... the game is just not Monkey Island like anymore.Ã,  It's almost as if they just made a game with a plot and characters similar to the ones in 1-3.
Actually, I had reached that conclusion after playing MI3.

I don't understand this comment. Appart from the main characters, everybody is new. Plot is different too.

MI4 is not funny, that's the problem.

I always went to this department store with a neglected multi media corner. I bought simon 3d, guilty, ringworld and loads of other crap, adventure games, all in cardboard box and for less that â,¬7,- (still overpriced for games that don't even run on a modern computer). Sadly they cleaned out that wall last spring and placed a Dixons in the corner. Redundant, since there is a Dixons outside next to the department store. I bought most of the games for the lapaset quiz over there, so they still sell crappy games ,but no more crappy dos games..

Other places to go game delving is in toy stores, book stores, music stores and computer stores (not computer game stores, I mean). Back in the 90's when PC's became populair must-haves, lots of there stores got their own little multi media corner. But the owners don't know games, so they neglected it, maybe till this day. Which is perfect for us adventure gamers, since we want to buy games released in the 90's, not modern day. A perfect example is that hidden corner inside the music store on Athens airport.

And of course the normal game shop. Just the other day I bought Zork: Grand Inquisitos. They had more than one copy and also had copies of Monkey Island 4, Full Throttle, The Longest Journey and a few others not worth mentioning (why every game store sells myst and csi games is beyond me).

I like to tell one more game delving story; I was in a book store and found Woodruff for â,¬50,-. The jewel case was broken and the price tag was so old it turned yellow/brown. I might love adventure games, but I'm not going to pay full price for a decade old game.

I did a quick search, and found flights to Ontario for â,¬ 4,000.00! Tell me that can't be right. (I searched for flights in November 2006 AND July 2007)

It's ten times cheaper to fly to New York, rent a car and drive to Canada.

You might not die. Your face might be burnt off, you might break your neck when the shockwave throws you through the room or car, you might be trapped for days under rubble, you might hear children being burnt to death, your body might rot away because the gamma rays burnt your white blood cells, you might get sick from drinking the black rain that stings your tongue and burns your eyes, you might be exposed to more radiation after you go back and look for survivors, you might get cancer 30 years later and maybe you survive but your children get leukemia.

The flash is only the beginning of the trouble.

I second that, Nacho.
Religious people seem to know all the answers because the answer keeps changing for every question.
If you try to prove God exists, you taunt God. If you try to prove God does not exists, you are a heretic and go to hell. If you are shown proof that there is no God, it's the work of the devil and a lie.
Yup, perfect clause, except there still is no proof God exists, which leads us back to the devil and a lie. Catch 22.

General Discussion / Re: Amish School Shooting

About Amish.
Amish children don't go to school, they go to the community center. Since they think that knowlage turns men arogant they stop teaching children at 13(?) or so. I think when they turn 15 they enter a periode called "rund springen", German for jumping around. During this time they have to chose wether they want to join the community. The interesting thing is that they can wait as long as they want to make this decisoin. Since they have all this money from working since childhood, they buy cars, clothes, get a house, play games and do everything the Amish can't do (they can even have pre-marital sex!). The only problem is that they don't have an education so they are stuck in their community.

I enjoy your articles.

Do the voice action when the game is done. That way the dialog and story in the game won't change again and you don't have to ask people to record the changed dialog. People will record all the lines in one session using the same mircophone, soundcard and volume.

Many AGS games don't have voice acting because it's such a time taking task, so you won't be looked down upon if the game doesn't have voice acting at all. People will understand.

Yeah, I played this game with my brother. You have to collect the 'Wanted poster' before you can get to the stage boss, which is hidden. Otherwise the level loops.

I remember a bug; I got stuck behind a stone and my brother continued to walk forward, which made me fall off screen. But then I became invincible, I could still move and shoot but bullets didn't do damage nor could I pick up items, which meant that after my brother died I couldn't pick up posters.

Jet I think you are a action game addict ;D , since your consider the Myst series to be boring in every aspect. You are missing the beauty of it!
Nah, I'm missing the point of it.

And have you played Syberia? Really? :D
Yes, as well as that new piece-o'-crap by the same writer. I know the society in adventure land is aboot quid pro quo and all, but do the characters really have to be so rude, unhelpful and hassle like a 90 year old jewish gandma? Really?

I buy Myst games to prevent other people from buying them. I should get a school named after me. Myst games must be fun for the developer to make, hence that there are so many of them. For the player it's boring. Boring story, boring puzzles, boring music, boring backgrounds. A charmless game, yet they have sold milions. Not really; the game came free with one of the first cd-rom players, which sold milions. At least that's what I told.

It is sad that the adventure game has spiraled downwards so much that mediocre games like Syberia are seen as the best the gerne can offer nowadays. Sad.

I hope that you don't mean Cirque de Zale, Andail, becaus I don't really see any girlish touch in that game. In fact, the main character is a self-absorbed juvenile the more I think about it.

I think they are making a zombie adventure with the lassie engine. I could be wrong.

TRAILER

I don't know, but it feels like the trailer tells the whole story within 3 minutes, appart from the ending which I'll guess is unhappy.
